Very disappointing on follow up. 1. They overcharge on initial purchase (almost $10,000-5 yrs ago) 2. once the warranty expires they overcharge every thing. I have a pair of hearing aides that are 2.5 years old and no longer under warranty. They charged me $30.00 to look at them, then said they might have moisture and could dry them. To put them in the dryer was an additional $70.00 with no guarantee that was the problem. They said they could send them to Oticon but it would cost $950 to $1000.00. I left very upset. I decided to take them to another Audiologists office, no charge to look at them, no charge for the dryer and if they need to be sent to Oticon, $500.00. I highly recommend avoiding this Audiologists, shopping around and researching before purchasing hearing aides from this facility. read more

I am here. So , Because of the G.I. Pact act, they want to test everyone that was incountry during the Vietnam Conflict for Agent Orange damage. I was in Danang, Eye Corp for a year. And This is where the VA sent me for a independent appraisal of Tinnitus to my hearing. They say it's related. I realize it was 50 years ago, and if it weren't for the PACT Act specific request that all incountry military personnel be tested I would have passed. But the President signed it and He is Commander in Chief to all Branches. I was Navy. A million and a half are now enrolled for testing. This was a excellent test, and I have been tested somewhere else in Tucson every year for decades. The test person was a Doctor and a woman and as kind as can be. When I am due again for my annual I will give serous thought to coming here. Thanks for a complete and thorough exam. read more

After undergoing an auditory exam, I decided to purchase hearing aids from Dr. Kim. Since my hearing loss was mild to moderate, the last question I asked was "what is your return policy if I decide not to keep these?" She assured me that I had 30 days and would pay for a restocking fee and her consultations. Imagine my shock when, after 10 days, I decided to return them and was told I would be charged $1100!! There was no reasoning with the unpleasant finance manager. Other auditory firms in town charge $300 to return hearing aids. I was sorely misled. read more

I reached out to Oro Valley Audiology ( Dr. Kim) in something of a desperate mood. I'm a professor at U of A, and even with hearing aids I could not adequately hear my students. Several audiologists had attacked the problem technically, but Dr. Kim was the only to solve it. She was modest about it, stating that all she did was "apply best practices" but the bottom line is: that there are professionals who take the time to understand the problem and deploy all available resources to solve it (she was the only one to do a "real ear test"), and others who just move pieces around but never reach optimal solutions. I called Oro Valley Audiology last week and was told they accepted my United Healthcare insurance. Today I called, made an appointment and asked that a copy of the contract be emailed to me in advance to save time. The lady called back a few minutes later and said that a copy of the contract could not be provided because it depended on the type of hearing aid and the health plan. I offered to provide the health plan number and said I was considering Oticon hearing aids. She put me on hold, came back, and said they would not bill the insurance company for the hearing aids! I then verified that I would have to pay them and seek reimbursement from the insurance company. When I asked why she had just told me they did accept my insurance she had no real answer. There are good reviews about this place, but my experience is not consistent with them. read more

Amazed at lack of professionalism here. When I made the appointment I told the receptionist my husband had hearing test and needed hearing aids. We were ready to buy. Went here because someone told us he could try the hearing aids first, and we wanted to make sure he had a good fit before committing to a specific aid. But we wanted to buy. At appointment was told about what he needed and the cost. Said "great"...we were ready to buy and spend $4000. Well, the aid that he wanted was not available for trial but more a expensive one was so "great....let's do it". THEN....well....you need to come back for that appointment in a week. Not enough time now. WHAT? I told the Dr. I made the appointment clearly stating what we needed....not enough time? When we left we just looked at each other and shook our heads. Cancelled second appointment with Oro Valley Audiology and are going elsewhere. 2 girls sitting at front desk chatting.....waiting room had garbage from the day on coffee table...... just a very bad first impression. Carpet in exam room was dirty and needed to be replaced. Just bad over all impression. I would have thought they would want our money. Very loosy goosy towards actually doing business. Guess the lady who made the appointment does not allow enough time to actually accomplish the goal... for us to buy hearing aids and for them to sell hearing aids. Go figure. read more

One of my hearing aids developed what seemed like a loose connection, which made it stop working. I went to Oro Valley Audiology during their 11:30 - 12:30 walk-in repair clinic. I had very little wait before they got to me, and it took them very little time to diagnose and repair my hearing aid. They charged what I considered a very reasonable fee, especially since it was less than a third of what I was quoted by the place I got them, and they would have to send it away for repair. This will now be my go-to place should I need additional repair. read more

I really wanted to like this place since it is close to me. I am new here so I had called to see if I could make an appointment since I was having trouble with my hearing aid. I called and they informed me that they had a walk in clinic from 11am to 12:30pm. I went in and told them what was going on, I was told I needed a new tube so I had that done. I also noticed they had changed he hook BUT didn't realize it till that evening, that my hearing aid was cracked from when they changed the hook. My hearing aid was whistling before I went in but it was worse when they fixed the tube. I told them that it was still whistling so they suggested that I needed a new mould. I had told them that the one I had was fairly new and had it made exactly a year ago. Then they stated that too much air was possibly getting through which was causing the internal feedback to whistle. I also let them know that my hearing aid was cracked, and was told that it was the seal that came loose. I paid and had an ear mould made. Went back the following week, the mould was a completely different one that I had ever had. I put it in and stated that it was STILL whistling. At that point, they told me I could leave it with them to send in but it would cost me $350! I had called back the following day after getting my mould made because they didn't get a phone number for me and I also inquired on if they took my insurance to have a hearing test, I had called back and the receptionist told me that they didn't at that location but did at the Tanque Verde location. Fast forward, I decided to go to a different audiologist because I personally felt I wasn't getting the care I should have. I never received a call back to schedule an appointment OR to see how the mould fits. I had to have my new audiologist call in to the company to get the right mould sent since it was under warranty. Thankfully that was resolved but my hearing aid snapped in half, the hook came off the behind the ear part of the hearing aid. Never in 20 years have I had that happened! read more

I have been to several Audiologist offices in the Tucson area and made my decision to go with Oro Valley Audiology, due to there professionalism and honesty I have been suffering from hearing loss for quite some time and finally was ready to get hearing aids. The team was fantastic and very patient with me. They were able run my insurance and found that I have a benefit, that I was unaware I even had for hearing aids. It reduced my cost out of pocket by half. I was able to wear demo hearing aids for a couple weeks to try out before I made any decisions, in this process I felt so educated by the time I received my own aids, it was money well spent. I have been back to the office for follow up care and they know me by name each time I walk through the door. I would highly recommend you entrust them to your hearing. read more

Oro Valley Audiology is the best. Audiologists are very knowledgable. I have been seeing them for at least 8 years or more until I just moved back to San Diego, and have purchased several hearing aids from them. If I ever move back to Tucson, I would be back there again. read more

The turn around time for getting an appointment was very quick (just a few days). Receptionist was pleasant enough. Audiologist performed a hearing exam. My rating is not 5 stars due to the fact that the audiologist, for whatever reason, did not provide a thorough explanation of my hearing loss or attempt to explain the test results in laymen's terms. Her only comment was that "you would benefit from wearing hearing aids and here are two that I would recommend." No details were provided, why she selected these--either the brands or the style. I was given no literature to read/look over. Supposedly all of the audiologist @ this facility are doctors of audiology (a plus) but the audiologist assigned to me scores very low on her ability to communicate with and educate the consumer. Considering that I will in all likelihood be spending upwards of $3500 to $5000 on the aids, I would expect more. I have subsequently done my own research on the internet and will seek out another facility for a 2nd opinion. read more
