I came upon this place last year after several unsatisfactory experiences at different audiology places. I am so happy to have found SoundPoint Hearing @3443 N. Campbell and the staff here. Naomi, Kim, & Martin are wonderful. This office is beautifully decorated with warm lighting and comfortable seating. It is exceptionally clean & quiet. The various hearing devices and supplies are neatly displayed. My mom and I were greeted by Kim at the front desk. She was friendly, professional, quick, and efficient, getting us checked in & checked out quickly. We were greeted and assisted by Naomi Hedrick, Hearing Instrument Specialist who assisted my mom last year and remembered us. Naomi spoke with us about my mom's hearing, asked if we had any concerns, answered all questions, and conducted the hearing tests. She is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, caring, easy to deal with, empathetic, and she truly cares about helping people. She has the calmest, most comforting demeanor. She made my mom feel totally at ease. We never felt pressured to make a purchase. She presented us with some reasonably priced options and my mom was able to leave with a hearing aid that was within her budget and much better than her previous pair. It is evident that Naomi truly loves her job and helping people. Naomi provided one on one VIP customer service. We never felt rushed or pressured in any way. After two weeks, we returned for a scheduled follow-up. Same great service! Naomi asked my mom how the hearing aids were working, if they were comfortable, and if she had any concerns. She checked & cleaned the hearing aids, and changed the filters. We chatted for a little bit, checked out, and were on our way. The audiologists and providers at Soundpoint have always gone out of their way to help me. They have consistently found hearing aids that work for me and then helped me learn how to get the most out of my aids. I hadn't received that kind of care from other audiology practices and was frustrated; I had almost given up looking for someone who could help me with my hearing loss. My long time Soundpoint audiologist retired last year. Cynthia helped me immensely, and I'll miss her. However, I was delighted to find out that "Hearing Instrument Specialist" Martin Verdugo had taken over my case. The yearly hearing test is never something anyone with hearing loss looks forward to. Martin started doing my hearing tests several years ago and I found him to be thorough, detailed oriented, and a good listener. He's very responsive to his clients needs and concerns. I am very happy that he will be there to help me with my hearing needs. This is the fourth pair of Starkey aids that I've worn, and they are the best yet. They utilize a cutting edge technology that updates regularly and they allow me to make changes to them when I am in different environments. No, they are not cheap, but I have a severe hearing loss and aids meant for a moderate loss do not help anymore. My Starkey aids help me to hear in many situations that I couldn't before, and that makes these aids worth the price. My hearing aids are comfortable to wear, and that is also important to me. The price of the aids includes follow up visits as needed and free cleaning. The follow up appointments are important to get the most out of any hearing aids. I can whole-heartedly recommend the Soundpoint Hearing Center on Campbell Ave in Tucson. Hearing aids are not like glasses: they do not correct your hearing back to the equivalent of 20/20 and any aids will be challenged in a noisy environment. A person has to wear their hearing aids regularly, so their brain can adjust to the new input. And This is where the VA sent me for a independent appraisal of Tinnitus to my hearing. They say it's related. I realize it was 50 years ago, and if it weren't for the PACT Act specific request that all incountry military personnel be tested I would have passed. But the President signed it and He is Commander in Chief to all Branches. I was Navy. A million and a half are now enrolled for testing. This was a excellent test, and I have been tested somewhere else in Tucson every year for decades. The test person was a Doctor and a woman and as kind as can be. I have a pair of hearing aides that are 2.5 years old and no longer under warranty. They charged me $30.00 to look at them, then said they might have moisture and could dry them. To put them in the dryer was an additional $70.00 with no guarantee that was the problem. They said they could send them to Oticon but it would cost $950 to $1000.00. I left very upset. I decided to take them to another Audiologists office, no charge to look at them, no charge for the dryer and if they need to be sent to Oticon, $500.00. I could hear them from inside our living room with windows and doors shut and my husband could not hear them sitting outside enjoying the night sky...and they were in full symphony! We had gone, about 6 months prior, to get a hearing aid test and a trial run of hearing aids from our local Costco. We do love Costco but not for hearing aids. His experience walking around the store shopping and trying out the hearing aids they wanted him to try out made him sure he did not want any hearing aids at all. My husband met Zachary Smith when Zach stopped into Brooks Brothers, where my husband worked at the time, and they had chatted. This was after the Costco fiasco that had made him sure he did not want hearing aids as they were too tinny and made noise unbearable. My husband remembered Zach and that he had his card, so after he missed cricket concert he made an appointment for earlier this week. We went to Total Hearing Care where we were greeted by Joanie at the front desk - with a big smile and positive energy, always a good sign. We then met with Zach and my husband got a hearing test. We talked to Zach about hearing aid options and the difficulties my husband had had on his first trial run with hearing aids. Turns out my husband has severe hearing loss (not a surprise) at the higher pitches (obviously women's voices and crickets fall into that range!). His experience at Costco with what they offered had been so miserable he had very low expectations. The set Zachary had him try out were absolutely a thousand times better. Amazingly, my husband has suffered from Tinnitus for years and when he put the hearings aids in it had a huge impact on the severity of the ringing in his ears so that was a HUGE (and unexpected) PLUS for purchasing a quality pair of hearing aids. Lucky for us the hearing aids were discounted, probably due to the pandemic...as the very same pandemic caused us job losses. Later the same week we got a call to come in and get the hearing aids. After teaching my husband how to use and care for them our very next stop was to the grocery store, where he marveled that he could even hear his own foot steps. Two days in and he is completely happy. He went golfing the day after he got them and had no problems with the wind. IF you are tired of yelling at your spouse to get their attention or being told you mumble or maybe YOU are tired of people mumbling, (apparently I mumbled a lot before the hearing aids arrived) do not deprive yourself any longer. While my husband did not want to have the over the ear style--turns out that is what will work best and they are hardly visible. (Plus I like his hair a little long!). The benefits far outweigh any negatives. Thank you Zach! PS. Zachary gave me a free hearing test BECAUSE I asked not because he was trying to push anything on me. She was very pushy and rude only focusing on making a sale even before performing the hearing test. She never took the time to explain a warranty or other benefits I was entitled to. When questioned why she was attempting to sell me the hearing aids before the test, she told me that she had taken the time to do another patients hearing test first, then they never bought them. Her aggressive personality was very rattling and disturbing. I'm not the kind of person who gets pushed around but she really did a job on me. When I asked about hearing aids made in Germany, I hadn't seen them listed on the laminated sheet that she was offering to sell, she pulled a random pair out of the drawer and offered to sell them to me as long as I wasn't inputted into her computer yet because she was contractility obligated not to do so with United Healthcare. (She actually did tell me that) She acted desperate to make a sale. She was attempting to make a side deal with a pair that she no longer sold or offer any kind of warranty. Talk about dishonest. Everything was so disorganized and disturbing. I ended up giving her my credit card number to pay for the pair I was buying, made a follow-up appt and returned 2 weeks later. Upon arriving 1/2 hour early for my follow-up appt, she was again behind and blaming her patients for being late. She was unable to find me in the computer and acted frantic! Brought me into her office where she found the paperwork from my 1st appt behind the computer on her desk and the hearing aids were never ordered. I had several appts and errands to go to and since she was already 1 1/2 hours behind, I told her that we would reschedule for a later time. I repeatedly told her this and each time she insisted that I stay (my husband also had an appt for a hearing test). I finally told her "When you get your act together, call me for a follow-up appt). She wasn't happy but I was determined that she wasn't going to continue showing disrespect and act as though my time didn't matter. When I got out to my car, I went through my checking account for any charges she had made for the hearing aid. She hadn't charged my account yet so I called her from the parking lot. When she answered (her lady at the desk had called in sick and we were told she wasn't doing a very good job anyway) and I told her not to order the hearing aids.
