Today was test day. Tones and spoken word. Last exam was two years ago. My hearing is unchanged from then and I passed the test again. I have had ringing in both ears. For years. They keep all my records and the test is free. I feel confident the exam is correct. All good, come back in 2 years. Btw, they moved from the former building. Came her to review Cristian at EDH, he was excellent! Woke up feeling pain all of a sudden in my ears due to build up - called my primary care and a specialist and they were both booked for months but El Dorado Hearing got me in same day! Cristian was very patient. Spent about an hour with me carefully relieving my buildup which painful given proximity to the ear drum. Went to El Dorado last November and got hearing aids. I paid the full price ($5300), and was told by the audiologist that as soon as my insurance claim was submitted I would receive $500 back. By January I hadn't heard anything, so I called and was told they are waiting for UnitedHealthcare to send them $500 (not what I was told to being with). So I waited. I called several times during the winter/spring and was always told the same thing - be patient. This week I looked on the UHC website and saw that the claim had been paid in January. I called UHC customer service and was told the records she could see show the claim as paid. She said she would contact the billing staff at El Dorado and advise them to contact the UHC provider helpline because they can look up the claim and see if El Dorado cashed the check. Seems like a simple inquiry. I waited a few days and called El Dorado again. I was told the claim hasn't been paid and I have to be patient. Totally unacceptable. There is a problem between El Dorado and UHC, but it is not MY problem. Either be honest about how the customer will receive the $500 back or pay the customer and work out your billing problem yourselves. read more

Horrible second experience and still very unprofessional they were opened several years ago under the name El Dorado audiology and then went out of business and changed the name to El Dorado hearing it is still a very unprofessional and very disorganized company. The employee that they have working there from the old business and under the new name is extremely rude and horribly unprofessional and is going to be the death of this business as well her name is Christina. They will lie to you and tell you that it takes 6 weeks to get you approved through your insurance when actuality it only took 10 days and they lied about it I waited an additional 20 days and found out from the insurance company that I was approved 10 days after they submitted the claim and the insurance company sent me proof of three faxes that they sent to El Dorado hearing proving that I was approved 20 days prior. I sense went with another company and was approved within a few days and I will have my hearing aids here in another week the whole process with the new company took about 14 days total from when I made the appointment to when I'm actually getting my hearing aids. Oh and did I mention that Christina caught an attitude with me over the phone and told me that if I don't use their company that I'm going to have to wait another six to eight weeks to get reapproved since they already file the claim with the insurance company and that was a lie and found that out very quickly and was reapproved within 3 days from the insurance company they use bullying tactics and it's just a matter of time before this company goes under like it did under the old name El Dorado audiology. If you really value your time and you don't want to be treated horribly then it's probably best that you stay away from this company. Hopefully the owner wises up and gets rid of this employee before her company goes under. read more

I was referred by my Dr. To El Dorado. My first visit and hearing test went well. Ashley Butler was great although she never offered a color option other than silver. The Widex hearing aid operate fantastic. It has been 7 weeks since the initial visit and The patient finance specialist, Frank Diaz is still can't seen to finish his part. Zero follow up. I have to initiate every call. I'm frustrated and disappointed at this point. A follow-up call or e-mail would make all the difference. read more

In my opinion, if there ever was a poster child for America's broken profit-based-yet-incompetent-cold-indifferent heath care system this place is it. My experience at El Dorado Audiology was by far the worst business related experience I have had in my 40 years in Tucson. After receiving 2 pairs of defective devices (one pair was so bad it never even got fitted and never left their office, and the other pair I returned after a week of static and feedback) I still have no hearing aids. And it took them from October, 2019 until December to come up with the first defective pair and from December until JUNE to finally produce another defective pair. In a conversation with my insurance company I was told that I had been given TWO pairs and I am not eligible for another until January 2021. I was never given the first pair because it was defective and the second I returned for the same reason after one week with the assurance in writing from Kathy O'Brien that there would be no problem and I would get a functioning pair that I wanted soon. Well, it's almost August and I have no functioning hearing aids BUT my insurance company paid for something! GOSH! I wonder who got the $7000 for the functioning hearing aids I never got. Who do you think got the $$$?? RUN FAST. RUN FAR! read more

El Dorado audiology is the second hearing business I have frequented in the 17 years I have worn hearing aids. The first audiologist was just excellent. Then we moved to Tucson and went to El Dorado. Carolyn Jaret, the audiologist, is an exemplary professional in my opinion. My wife is a Speech and Language therapist and feels exactly the same. Carolyn is not in this business solely to make money as are some hearing aid vendors. She has spent a great deal of time making sure my unusual hearing problems are addressed, she never is in a hurry, and always is cheerful, competent, and professional. I can recommend her wholeheartedly for anyone that needs to deal with a hearing deficit. read more
