My husband and I had been excited to visit The Orleans Room for quite a while because he's a huge fan of Reuben sandwiches, and they are one of the locations in the US claiming to have created it. The decor and design of The Orleans room is gorgeous, wth green, pinks, art deco touches, and little pops of color everywhere. I really liked the tile on the floor, which was black and white and in a cool, upcale pattern. We visited around noon on a weekday, and the tables inside were pretty empty for it being prime time for lunch in a pretty busy area, but we were one of only about four tables that had people at them. You would think that would mean we would be checked on constantly, being that we were so few people dining there, but it was the opposite in our case. We were seated, given water, and then forgotten about and did not see a server for almost 20 minutes. We noticed an attendant bringing to the kitchen a bunch of empty plates and trays, like most of their staff is working on the room service side of things, but that should not impact the people eating in the actual restaurant (but it definitely did). When we did finally get to order, the food was mostly fantastic, so I can semi-forgive the service lacking a little. My husband got his Reuben and it was fantastic (I had a few bites). The corned beef, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese were all chopped up together so you get a bit in each bite (and not the pully, annoying sauerkraut or big chunks of meat) and the mustard and thousand island made it perfect. I am not a Reuben fan normally, but I would definitely order this for myself. I had The Big Easy sandwich and it was heavenly. Almost like a cuban sandwich, with its ham, pickle, cheese, and mustard - and my favorite part: it was on a croissant bun. Not a croissant itself, but a sandwich bread that was the same style as a croissant. Genius! We also got the Lobster Deviled Eggs, and this was the one piece of food that was disappointing. The eggs were set on a very strong mustard base with the lobster on top, so my first bite, the mustard was all I tasted really. A little bit of the lobster fell off on my plate, so I scooped it up to eat it by itself and then I tasted that it was VERY fishy, like it had turned completely. My husband tasted it too and agreed, so we did not eat any more of the eggs. Our server didn't seem to care too much about the bad lobster and said they would let the chef know, but didn't seem too concerned about feeding us bad lobster. We even said "I hope we don't get sick" and the server laughed and said "yeah, me either!" It seems The Orleans Room focused more on the decor and vibe (which was admittedly amazing) and on some of the food offerings, but ignored other food quality and the service for those dining in the restaurant in favor of those ordering from their rooms.

Food was great. Delicious n savory. Service was well kept, speedy yet not in your face. And ambiance was of old money.

This is truly one of my favorite restaurants in Blackstone. The vibes, the food, the service - it's all fantastic. I stopped by layer in the evening with my mom. I had the sweet corn bisque and my mom had the Cobb salad. They were both large enough to share and packed with so much flavor. I would happily order both of these items again. Our server was also so kind and attentive, making our experience even better. Overall, this is a great spot to stop for an upscale bite to eat in a date or with girlfriends!

Went to the Orleans Room for their high tea experience and it was super lovely. The atmosphere of this room is such a vibe and perfect for tea and socializing. It is pricey but a fun treat for a special occasion. The service was very attentive and the food was tasty albeit small- but that's how it goes for tea time.

We came here for brunch on Sunday at 12 o'clock. It's located in downtown in the Cottonwood Hotel. Hotel is cute and has an antique flare. Right past the check-in desk is the Orleans room. We were seated promptly and I ordered coffee and the smoked salmon Benedict. My daughter ordered the French omelette. Coffee was OK, tasted a little bit on the watery side. Food came out relatively quickly. It was nice that they have gluten-free bread. My daughter seemed to enjoy her omelette. The smoked salmon Benedict was just OK. It comes with a side of fresh fruit. I was expecting it to be the cold, smoked salmon, but it had a little of a weird mushy taste which was unexpected. Not the most enjoyable so I only ate one. I think the most disappointing thing about brunch was the service. After our food arrived, our waitress never returned to our table. Did not check on us, refill our water. We ran out of coffee and had to actually wave her down to get refills and also extra creamer. After bringing our check, I asked her for a box to take home the rest of my smoked salmon Benedict. She said she would bring me a takeout box, but she never did. I ended up having to go to the back kitchen to request a box on my own. Also, there was a 23% tip that's already added onto your bill. So just be aware of that when dining here.

What a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. We stopped in after an event to grab a bite and the staff were so welcoming. Loved the flavor of the sweet corn bisque with the addition of 2 coconut shrimp on the side! This was a hearty soup! The Cottonwood Cobb was delicious and quite large. More than enough for 2 people. The chicken was an actual chicken breast sliced which I loved instead of the cubed kind a Cobb typically has. Plenty of avocado and blue cheese crumbles. We will for sure be back.

The Orleans Room is a little hidden gem of a restaurant. Nestled inside the gorgeous Cottonwood Hotel you can find the home of the Reuben. No really it is! But they are serving up more than Reuben's. The salads are so scrumptious and the deviled eggs have me coming back for more. If you're looking for a new casual lunch spot, this is your go-to. Lance is an awesome server and Ali is an amazing supervisor and they are led by the incredible Jamie! Overall such a great team, they'll take care of you.

We've been here twice now, and neither time disappointed us. First time we stopped was to try their famous Reuben that was delicious! It was the perfect combination ofcorned beef, sauerkraut, and dressing. Hands-down the best Reuben in my opinion! The second time around I opted for the Monte Cristo sandwich since they ran out of Reubens. The Monte Cristo was very good, but I didn't love the thick slices of ham along with the thick bread. I enjoyed their drink menu, and I highly recommend their hot Cocoa flight on the cold winter days.

I had never had a Reuben until my wife said we should do the great Reuben debate in Blackstone. We made the mistake of starting here first, and I say that because it was the best. I think my wife has created a new addiction on my behalf because now that's all I can think about is their Ruben. We visited with the manager and the assistant manager during this visit, and they were both super friendly. The dining room is gorgeous with its original flooring and restoration. I definitely wanna come back to stay in the hotel, probably eat another Reuben, and enjoy drinks with my wife sometime soon.

    The Reuben with truffle fries

I stopped in on a Saturday around 5 pm to try the famous Reuben. I was going to get it to go so I sat at the bar. But the bartenders, Shay and Trey were so welcoming, that I stayed and ate at the bar. I had a delicious hand-crafted cocktail and the Reuben. The Reuben was really good, it was prepared perfectly. My only criticism is that I prefer a little bit of a bolder flavor. I will definitely be back.

The food was so good. We came for the Reuben's and they did not disappoint, but neither did any of our other food! Recommend the desserts. The atmosphere was so pretty. Had a mocktail that was amazing too.. service was great!

We have now been to Orleans Room twice and it has become one of our favorite brunch spots in Omaha! First and foremost, we are big fans of advance reservations and we appreciate that you can get Resy reservations! Second, the historic Blackstone hotel is a gorgeous setting for any meal! Even just coming for an everyday brunch meal, it feels like an elevated/upscale vibe. We especially loved all of the Christmas decor this last visit. Gorgeous! And, most importantly, the food is amazing! We each got different meals this last visit and loved everything! We all started out with local coffee and appreciated the bottomless mugs of coffee! My mom got the eggs Benedict with pork belly and loved it. So flavorful and creative! My dad got the Rachel sandwich and loved the lighter Turkey take on the Reuben. My husband got the Reuben and really enjoyed the decadent flavors. I got the Reuben hash and (honestly) thought I got the best deal. Not only did I get the chunks of house smoked Reuben meat, but I got potato hash with fried Brussels sprouts and a sweet/savory gravy. What more could you want? Service has always been top notch, the ambiance is always high class, and the space is very clean/chic. We officially LOVE Orleans Room and look forward to many more future visits!

Vibe | Drinks | Clientele Vibe - Overall, the place has a great hotel restaurant feel. The spot is ideal. The bar is vintage and has a great staff that can make various drinks. The restaurant has a relatively diverse dinner menu and a great atmosphere for a date, catching up with friends, or grabbing a nightcap. Drinks - they have a great cocktail list. We did mocktails because we are doing 75 hard, and they were able to make almost all the drinks with an NA version. Clientele - the clientele is some of the more well-to-do people in Omaha. Between the reputation of the hotel and being close to Berkshire Hathaway, the bar at the end of the night attracts an interesting and eclectic group. So, the chats at the bar are pretty memorable. Pro Tip - it is a great place to go. But, the price point makes it an interesting trade-off compared to other spots in town. Why not 5 stars? - It is a solid place but not somewhere that you Must go. It didn't have anything special outside of the location and history of the hotel/location.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

My husband and I first visited Memoir for our anniversary, and it was such an awesome experience, especially for a special occasion like that. After we were done doing all of our (admittedly annoying) photography of the awesome ambiance, we finally sat down to order and eat - and the original amazingness didn't stop there! The menu is not gigantic, which I always appreciate - because I get overwhelmed by too many choices. We picked a few things to share, at the recommendation of our server (who was also amazing and made sure we had a great anniversary dinner). They even gave us a card signed by the staff wishing us a great anniversary! Those little extra touches are what really make a dining experience special. We had the Kale and Bacon Dip for an appetizer, which was DECADENTLY delicious. The dip was smooth and silky with a toasty focaccia which went really well together with the two different textures. And we also grabbed the Pork Potstickers, and my oh my, were those fantastic. Delicate potsticker wrapper, with tons of filling, resting in a carrot-ginger dressing that complemented the potsticker fantastically. We were already so pleased, and didn't believe the entrees could top the starters, but they were just as awesome, which should be no surprise. It was easier to share two entrees, because we couldn't decide between two. Our first entree was the Faroe Island Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, and served atop an indulgent bed of sweet corn risotto that I still dreeeeam about. And our second entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which was a little lighter of a meal, so was great paired with the salmon dish which was a tad heavier. I would recommend either of these dishes! We were SO full at this point but we knew we had to get a dessert since this was a special occasion. We shared the chocolate torte and devoured it, even with our extreme fullness. It was so fluffy and chocolatey and DELISH. From start to finish, this was one of the best meals I've had in Omaha. The service was on point, the eats were out of this world, and the vibe of the interior is something to behold. If you're looking for an awesome place to have a special occasion meal or just a nice dinner on a date night, look no further than Memoir for all of the above!

The steak was cooked perfectly! We were sat right upfront to over look the old market and it was clean and I loved the home feel of the space, very casual and comfortable. Our server (ugh, can't remember his name) was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. The ONLY thing that was a downside is that on yelp it says the restaurant is pet friendly and that is not the case. We traveled with our puppy and we had to leave her back at my daughter's apartment downtown which was a big bummer. Other than that, not one single bad this to say.

We found Jackson Street Tavern on Yelp while looking for a place to eat that was 1. walkable to our…read morehotel, and 2. would have hamburgers for the kids. This fit the bill so we walked over around 5pm one evening for an early dinner after spending the day exploring the zoo. When we arrived the place was pretty empty - think maybe two tables occupied, and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We did not, and honestly she seemed a bit put out for a bit. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.

Everett's is a solid ten! At least that's what I would give them if I could. We had heard about…read morethem and were very excited to try. I'm sure everything on the menu is good, but we came here for wings and boy did they deliver. The house brined wings are Fantastic. We did the extra hot bubba, which is their extra hot sauce fried then grilled In garlic Parmesan, which was so juicy and flavorful and kicked the heat to a perfect amount where it was flavorful but not overbearing. We also did the cactus ranch, which is the medium hot sauce tossed with cactus ranch seasoning, also tried it grilled. Another solid selection that provided a nice amount of heat and flavor. Both were so amazing I can't even say which one I liked more or which one was hotter. The wings are huge, juicy, and came out well-sauced. I filled up after five of mine (my husband tackled them all) and took the rest home. I don't know how to say best wings in Omaha, since I don't live there and haven't tried enough places, but these were some of the best wings we have EVER had, period. And we get wings almost everywhere we go. Also---the hand-cut (you heard me) fries aren't to be passed up on. We tried with the garlic aoili, so good, and a huge basket for $6. Our server was great. They are always busy, so give them some grace. We came during late lunch, got lucky and got seated right away, and it was still a revolving door of people, tables don't sit empty for long. They don't take reservations, and I understand why. They have limited space and when full, you sign up on the Board, there is a bar next door you can also receive a buzzer and go have a few drinks while you wait. This place is definitely worth the wait and we will repeatedly be back when we make it up to Omaha.

In addition, our server Laura was great -- friendly, efficient, came back to check on us, refilled water glasses, prompt with the food and with our bill. The atmosphere was just ok. Some eclectic posters adorned the walls. There were a couple of large tv screens tuned to a sports channel. Interior seemed a bit dark for a sunny mid-afternoon. But the food! My wife & I shared a BBQ Pulled Pork and Bacon Burger with a side of Branding Potatoes plus a Fry Basket option #3 (asian). Each item was totally delicious -- amazing blends of flavors! I cannot give enough praise. Some creative genius (maybe several of them) was involved in cooking up this kind of flavorful delight! Highly recommend!!

TONS of seating and the servers are great. We tried some new items out this time. If you're looking for a mocktail - try the berry basil smash. We typically start off with the bacon fondue fries, they are astounding, and is a repeat order EVERY single time. The first time we ate here I got the BBQ Chicken Mac & Cheese. This literally was like I was experiencing eating mac & cheese for the first time all over again. I personally love how the cheese sauce is a little more on the liquidly side, but not too much where the noodles don't keep any on them. The barbecue sauce used pairs sooooo well with the cheesy liquidly goodness, and the chicken and green onion tops it all off with the perfect crunch! Past the food, I love the beers here and love a good brewery vibe you get, you can for sure taste how much effort goes into their local drafts. Will always be at the top of my list for date nights or a quick bite and drink.
