Friday night is pizza night and since the pandemic started I've been making a lot of pizzas and I can attest that for what looks like a simple thing to make there is quite the learning curb, but I can assure you when it comes to Charleston pizza, Orlando's has mastered that and more. Ordering here is extra easy for us since we live so close but is made even easier by them keeping your name and phone number in their system. We ordered the meatball Parmesan which has fresh ricotta cheese and their awesome sauce. Absolutely magnificent! Was in charleston as a group of 8 celebrating my friends birthday. John our waiter was so nice, attentive , and knowledgeable. He explained the menu chatted with us and had our food out so quick. Our neighbors raved about this pizza, so we made the trip to Daniel Island. As a girl from CT who worked in NYC, I take my pizza pretty seriously. I ordered the spinach and artichoke pizza as I'm not in love with the marinara in Charleston unless it's made in my kitchen. The garlic, spinach, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes were on point. The crust was just meh. It didn't have the brick oven look or taste. My bf ordered the chicken pizza with red sauce and marinara which he liked. I had a bite of his and was happy with my choice. The marinara had a canned sauce taste. A small, cute place that had football on in the background, which we enjoyed and the staff was nice enough. We may or may not go back. read more

My first time at Orlando's. Definitely a vibe of an almost sports bar but pizza and hanging out. The menu had a lot of great pizzas. I went with meatball and wasn't disappointed. The ricotta was the perfect addition, little pops of creamy were nice since I used crushed pepper and little heavy handedly. The Greek salad was fantastic, pleasantly surprised to see mushrooms; I feel they have been forgotten about in salads anymore unless at home. The herby Parmesan dressing is something they should bottle and sell, I'd purchase it for sure! I was told they have a slice and salad as a lunch special, sounds like a plan! Our server Sam was very attentive and was running the side of the restaurant and handling it well. Sam was great with answering questions and I never had to ask for a refill. I was surprised when told they've been open for 20 years, it's so new looking. They do not have delivery but to be honest, I rather go anyway. This also is a testament to their quality, they do not require this outlet for additional profit. While I was there, their Take Out was poppin'! Give them a try if you haven't before! Came here with a couple friends on a weekday for dinner and was so happy with this find. I got the 10inch pizza for myself (perfect for one person) and got half bacon Gorgonzola and half Orlando's special. Both were very delicious. Loved the sweet peppers on the Orlando's special. But the bacon Gorgonzola was definitely the one for me - if you like strong tasting cheesy pizza this is for you. The pizza was brought together by a perfectly chewy crust. read more

Drove in from Philadelphia an 11 hour ride. Wanted a fast simple dinner. Great Greek salad entree size spit three ways and a margarita pizza. Everything was great. The two servers were working their butts off covering the crowded restaurant, great job. Nothing bad to report here. read more

We visited here while we had family in town. We walked in 15 minutes to closing, and they still allowed us to eat and were happy to serve us! After so many years I finally made it into Orlando's and I can definitely say that I'll be back. We started with a burrata salad which I thought was going to be served more like a caprese salad would with a handful of ingredients on the plate, but it was an actual salad with a full ball of cheese on top and slices of prosciutto and cherry tomatoes. The burrata was perfectly done and so creamy inside. For pizza we went a little overboard for two, but we wanted to try a couple things and figured leftovers wouldn't go to waste. We had a large cheese because I think cheese is the best way to judge a pizza which I thought was excellent. To be more adventurous, we got a small Bacon Gorgonzola. You can't miss with these flavors so I was a fan, but the cheese really was my favorite of the two. With so many pizza choices it's hard to try them all. I love Orlando's pizza! I've only gotten taken out so I'm not sure what it's like inside, but their order online system is so easy to use. I love that you can customize your pizza to only have half of the ingredients on one side of the pizza because my boyfriend likes way more veggies than I do ;p My favorite is the Bacon Gorgonzola pizza! A pleasant surprise! Too often I'm disappointed even by places with great reviews. But this place was fabulous. Just the right amount of sauce, not too sweet and not too bitter complemented by a really good mozzarella cheese. Only thing I would do differently next time is ask them to pull it out of the oven a couple minutes early. We were hungry on a walk and decided to stop in. What an excellent choice! John, our server, was super friendly, explained the pizza sizes and which choices were likely to yield leftovers. We really enjoy Orlando's! The staff is friendly and the pizza is fresh and yummy. We do ask them to cook a bit longer and use less cheese than they typically use. We prefer our crust a little darker and they put to much cheese in our opinion, but they are happy to accommodate. read more

"Can we get domino's?" That's what my 7 year old says and it's horrific. Not just because dominos is trash, but because in order to get *to* the dominos I have to drive past Orlando's. This is like having to drive past the loving embrace of all of your loved ones and secret crushes in order to hug your sweaty uncle. It's like someone trying to persuade you that they want to re-watch The Phantom Menace rather than see Empire Strikes Back for the first time. And the person who says this stuff SHARES HALF YOUR DNA. This is the kind of betrayal I experience on a regular basis with my youngest child. He'll eat Orlandos but he prefers Dominos. But, dear reader, I, as a parent have to teach my children wrong from right. And I confess that sometimes its just easier not to fight. To just rest in the face of injustice, and to turn and look away. But no more. There can be no more of this. Orlandos has great pizza. Of the half-dozen places to buy a pizza on Daniel Island, Orlando's is in the top two. Here's the deal: if you're looking for a traditional New York style pizza with kind of traditional New York style toppings, then you want Orlando's. It's the best you're going to get anywhere within 500 miles. If you want Italian Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, and some entree options, go a few feet down the road to Vespa. So I gave Vespa 5 stars, and I'm giving Orlando's 4 stars, even though I generally prefer Orlando's pizza. Why? In a word: Wings. Vespa has wings and Orlando's does not. I feel this is a serious oversight on Orlando's menu. A pizza shop like Orlando's needs good wings! It's like a place that serves hamburgers and not French fries. That said, if you want *pizza*, Orlando's is fantastic. When you go, ask for some wings, and act disappointed when they tell you they don't have any. read more
