This was a wonderful surprise. I expect great things from a Mina place but honestly, I haven't heard much about Orla since it opened. Now I know! The room is gorgeous. The lighting is perfect and the design is modern, on theme without being "theme-y" and just very pretty. The music was not too loud and we could easily carry on a conversation. Tables are also comfortable and you aren't sitting right on top of your neighbor. This is truly a welcoming dining room and it's unfortunately not the norm in Vegas right now. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly shortly after being shown to our table, which was such a nice touch. I assume that is because I'm an MGM Platinum member, and I just love when they do that! Service was perfect throughout, with managers dropping by to ask how things were and even offering an amuse-bouche. Fantastic! We started with zucchini fritters, which were very good. But the show stopper of course is the Pan Fried Cheese, which is not only quite a show, but is absolutely delicious. You simply must get this. I ordered simply, getting the Baked Macaroni. And I am not lying when I say everyone at the table was fighting over my dish... it was excellent. I recommend you get one of these to share with the table because everyone will want some. My partner had the shortrib, which he liked but it had maybe more bone marrow than shortrib, and he isn't a fan of the marrow. Next time he'll get the steak or the lobster spaghetti. This was my last food stop while I was at my work conference. It has a very approachable slightly upscale vibe that was nice. The bartender quickly gave me some stories to take home with me and left me smiling. The food was unique and tasty. I got the Lamb Kofta "Pops" and the Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Shortrib chickpea & orzo koshary roasted bone marrow. They were both phenomenal. I still am thinking about the scoops of bone marrow with that short rib. Jeff made a most recent at Orla phenomenal. We enjoyed the Orla Experience and wine tasting. It was actually the perfect amount of food last night. While we did leave a little on the table, we left feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed. The star of the show last night though was the interesting and perfect wine pairings. Jeff told us the history of the wine houses, details of the regions, and tasting notes for each pairing. It felt like we were eating a gourmet meal at a wine dinner with an expert som. Fabulous experience! This is one of the more affordable spots in Vegas, especially when you consider the high quality of healthy food you will enjoy. Orla at the Mandalay Bay is a Michael Mina restaurant and in my experience, Chef Mina spots always slap. Orla has classy Mediterranean vibes with charcoal-roasting leading the way on his delicious recipes. I didn't dip and dive too much into the menu but what I did have was wonderful. The Macaroni Bechamel is a high end mac-n-cheese with a black truffle upgrade, parmigiano reggiano and mushroom duxelles, and a lovely bechamel sauce spread around the pasta dish. The noodles are perfectly lined up like a forest of trees giving this standard dish an aesthetic glow-up, as well. Loved it! Getting my greens in (kinda), the Zucchini Fritters did not disappoint either. Very lightly battered with dill and meyer lemon seasoning, it had an accompanying tzatziki dip elevating the eating experience of this veggie a bit. Again, loved it! Celebrated my Wedding Anniversary at this location. No reservations, took us in as a walk-in. Was greeted and seated. Host gave a brief introduction about their specials that evening. Started out with alcoholic beverages to simmer down and to take in the ambiance from this restaurant. Waiter came back with our drinks. Ordered lamb, beef, appetizers and soup. This place was nice and elegant. We waited anxiously for our food. Once delivered, took a bite of the lamb and Beef. It was rather tasty. Took a bite of our appetizers, they were good. Took a bite of the Rice.. it was horrible! The rice tasted spoiled. I know what spoiled taste like and it was spoiled! . I brought it up to attention to our waiter, he stated he will talk to the cook. The cook replied back and stated it is a new batch of rice. I told our waiter that I dont want it. The thing that dissapointed me, the waiter did not try to comfort us by offering something else or exchanging the rice for a dessert or a discount. He had that attitude of oh well, you ordered it and that's what you get. I even told him to taste it. He refused. Overall, this place is expensive and I will not come back. I dont like food that is spoiled. Great ambiance and food presentation was great, but it did not live up to the hype. Came for lunch during conference. I don't think it's typically open for lunch, just when there's large conferences in house. It does get very busy so be sure to make a reservation. Came here for dinner before seeing Beyonce and it was the perfect pre-show meal! We split the Greek salad and the whipped hummus. Both were very fresh and delicious - including the pita that came with the hummus. We the split the filo crusted sole and it was decedent! The fish was cooked to perfection, flaky on the inside and nice a crispy on the outside. The brown butter sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. I enjoyed our evening at Orla, but it wasn't as outstanding as other Michael Mina places we've tried. The food was better than the service. The staff seemed stressed and did not convey warmth or a sense of welcome. Communication among the staff was an issue. We had to ask multiple people for extra bread, and after a wait, two different servers brought it. The saganaki and whipped hummus were both delicious, but one quarter of a pita per person is not adequate to accompany those dishes and we shouldn't have to ask for more. The staff told us that the kebab platter was an entrée for two, but our party of four barely had room to share dessert after sharing two appetizers and the platter. I don't want to complain about generous portions, but this seemed like an upsell attempt. The meats in the kebab platter were flavorful and done to a turn. The rice and peppers were equal to what I get at my neighborhood Lebanese joint, not what I expect from Mina. The rice pudding, under the crispy shell, was rich with cream but lacking in flavor. I was expecting a fragrance of cardamom, rosewater, something. On the other hand, the Greek yogurt sundae was a fun tableside experience with a lovely mix of flavors in the toppings. Some Greek frozen yogurt is aggressively sour, but this had an ideal balance. Despite the service and a few less special dishes, I would come back to try more dishes if I'm going to be at the Mandalay Bay. read more

This place was magical. From the vibes to the service to the food. My husband and I came here for dinner on our trip to Vegas and we had such a wonderful time. Our server Adam was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. I would honestly say this is the best service we have ever received at a restaurant in Vegas. He made our whole experience very special. The prawns were juicy and crunchy, they had the most perfect texture. Adam let us know that the seafood is hand selected and shipped in each day. The lamb chops were seriously some of the best lamb I have ever had in my life. Amazing. Adam brought out a little sample of wine for us to try with the lamb and it made it taste even more amazing. The mac and cheese was also wonderful. The sundae was a nice and fresh end to basically the perfect meal. We will be thinking of this experience and the food for a very long time. My sister, a friend and I are in Vegas on a girls trip, and decided to go see a show in Mandalay Bay. Of course, we looked up restaurants in the hotel to make one less trip, and SO glad we ended up at Orla. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Ambiance in the restaurant was top notch, and ended up being the best choice we've made all weekend! Good was phenomenal and our waiter Bradley was knowledgeable with the menu and helped us make some food choices. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Next trip to Vegas means another trip to Orla. I normally would not choose Mediterranean food, but this place is outstanding. A definite must if you visit Vegas, and ask for Bradley. read more

Absolutely the best restaurant servers we've had over two trips to Vegas, spanning 8 days. Both were highly knowledgeable about every dish on the menu, and were highly attentive to our table. Others servers were, too, but Jason and Michael were the ones who came by most often. Mandalay Bay does not get a lot of foot traffic, being at the very end of The Strip and not close to other hotels/casinos. Orla was a highlight of the entire Strip. read more

I was invited here for a work dinner. Mediterranean restaurant in the Mandalay Bay resort. Though you are close to the casino, it didn't feel that way. The interior was open and airy. It was quite loud due to this and proximity to the casino. Well appointed tables. Comfortable place for dinner. The staff were engaging and attentive. I had the lamb chops, which were recommended and excellent. The plate seems to be incomplete. It was served with rice and a pepper sauce. I would have appreciated some veggies as well but ok. Zucchini appetizer was flavorful but not my thing. Dessert was the baklava with yogurt (excellent), chocolate torte (straight forward) and passion fruit cheesecake (good but I am not a passion fruit fan). We also sample ld a few drinks. The tears of Alexandria was ok, the old fashioned was solid. I was originally really excited to try this restaurant ever since I read about the restaurant opening because of the unique idea of Michael Mina's take on fine dining Mediterranean food. While the food was okay and tasted fine, it wasn't that impressive or notable especially for the cost. But the real disappointment was the service. A rude interaction with the hostess was not the best first impression. But then it was followed by some of the worst service I've received at a fine dining establishment (little to no contact with us by our server as well as both our server and one of the restaurant's manager seeming overwhelmed and didn't seem like either wanted to be there.) The only saving grace for the service presented to us was the wonderful support staff (food runner and busser, they were both wonderfully attentive and seemed thrilled to tell us about the food they were dropping off. Idk how I've walked past Orla time after time but never went inside. Especially because they have such a beautiful bar you would think I would be the first one in. I honestly had low expectations, not because the food looked bad or anything but just because Mandalay Bay has so many amazing restaurants that at least one of them has to be bad . I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bad and left me wanting more. Hamachi Crudo was "Interesting" it was seasoned more than others I've had in a good way. Didn't really expect that burst of flavor but it was a nice surprise. What I didn't like AT ALL, was the saffron rice. It was all around just not good. The macaroni and octopus were FANTASTIC. I could order 3 of each and that would be my entree and I would be fine. The 2 things that STOLE THE SHOW were the red snapper & the olive oil cake. Snapper was perfectly seasoned and every bite melts in your mouth. I'm a huge dessert person and this is now one of my favorite desserts! Whenever I'm at the tables I'll pull up to Orla to get a cake to go. Get that Saffron Rice a little better and I'll update my 4 star to a 5 read more

We chose the $125 tasting menu today with the $79 wine pairing. Appetizers - Marinated Big Eye Tuna (they substituted tuna with tomatoes/salsa for my buddy who has allergies), The Greek, Whipped Chickpea Hummus with Pita - All was good. The whipped chickpea was almost like whipped cream. Pasta Course - Toasted Orzo with Spicy Duck Ragout & Macaroni Bechamel - I enjoyed the orzo more. Family Style - Char Grilled Branzino (the chef gave my buddy a larger Kabab Platter due to his fish allergies), Saffron Rice, Pita Bread, Grilled Asparagus - All of which was good. Dessert - Orla Rice Pudding & Olive Oil Semolina Cake - I enjoyed the rice pudding more. Also an amazing and generous wine pairing, see pictures. Actually, I would have enjoyed this dinner even more if we did not go to happy hour at Beerhaus right beforehand... Atmosphere - Same/similar format as the previous restaurant. Since my first review, I have been to Orla a few more times, and I have taken the liberty of trying a few of the different fish options. While they were all good, nothing tops the Branzino in my opinion. As a matter of fact I've gone and tried Branzino at four other restaurants on the strip since I had it at Orla earlier this year, and while a couple come close, nothing on the strip has beat it!
