I totally agree with the review submitted by Taylor G. I thought I'm the only with that experience. Now it confirms that this salon needs good professional etiquette.. I made my first appointment with Amy for a haircut , color and highlight . You would think she will WOW new client with promptness and enthusiasm, right? WRONG!!... She replied to me after 3 text messages and numbers of calls to her cellphone and landline. (But i am a very patient person by nature , so no big deal) iFinally she texted me back telling me someone cancelled and can take me in ( oh wow thank you!!!). She came in 15 min late in the salon on my first appointment... (it's a turn off , but no big deal) . For me, as long as the hairstylist will do a good job and will make me feel happy with my hair... all other things are negligible. Unfortunately, my haircut was BAD and i was not happy with the result of my highlight. She offered me to come back to redo the highlights .... but when i called back again after few days.... she never returned any of my voicemails and text messages and completely ignored me. What she did to my hair ( shaving the back of my hair unevenly ) was very frustrating , but because I am a very nice person and thinking it was both our first time ... i wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe the second time around will turn out better.... but i was so disappointed how she treated and ignored me. No professional etiquette. Go to Crush Salon instead... people there are very professional and will return your calls immediately!!! read more

Saw this place while at 10Torr and decided to check it out. So glad I did, Amy is wonderful. I don't know how she did it but she managed to somehow cut my hair but it ended up making it look longer! Which was amazing because I didn't want to lose any length but had to trim the dead ends off. The color is great, and she did an awesome job. My husband loves it and I can't remember my Yelp password so this review is from both of us! Very happy customers and I will be back for sure! read more

*Long story short- Amy cut me off and hung up with me on the phone when I tried calling to cancel my appointment. I tried calling the store multiple times with every call going to voicemail, so I made an appointment through their website 3 WEEKS ago, and expected to hear a confirmation within a few days. The confirmation came a whole week and a half later ​after I had decided to book an appointment with Salon Platinum. I tried calling the salon again to cancel the appointment that I never thought went through ​and left a brief voicemail. A few minutes later I get a call from a different number, who ended up being the lady who I made the appointment with. She said she heard my voicemail, and asked if there was anything she could do to change my mind. I said "no, unfortunately​,​​ I already made another appointment with-" where she abruptly cut me off saying, "Yeah I heard your voicemail bye." and HUNG UP on me. Last time I'll ever consider Origins Salon for anything because they can't answer the phone or even update the number online, and she cut me off when she realized she wouldn't get business​ from me! read more

This salon is amazing. My boyfriend and I have been going to Amy for years and she introduced me to Tara, who has been doing my nails for 2 years now. Origins is truly like a home. I had the BEST experience at Origins. I really have a hard time trusting hair dressers on my hair but I'm so glad that I picked this place! At first I was intimitated by the location (Arlinton and California) but they made me feel so welcome. I was having such a horrible day but then I met Amy who made me feel like I'm at home. I got in on short notice with the owner, Amy. She was very personable and professional and I was very comfortable in the salon. I have short hair and usually I do get cute cuts in SF where I live, but I wanted to try Origins while visiting Nevada. Amy's cut not only looked incredible, but also grew out very well over the next 7 weeks. I've been to a lot of big-city salons that have a get-you-in, get-you-cut, get-you-out mentality. Origins is not like that. Amy and her team take the time, as they say, to "find the style within you," which means asking lots of questions and discussing options for your face shape, tastes, and lifestyle. I recently neeed to update my look, and Amy not only nailed it the first time, but also recommended a particular product and styling tips to keep it looking great. I've had lots of compliments and feel like it even makes me look a bit younger, which is OK by me! When I walk into this salon, you know girl, that it is time for a style upkeep! I'm starting to look...hmm, let's say...passe!!! My hair grows long & fast, the color washes out quick... Lucky me! Caity Rooney, who claims to be THe Hairstylist Extraordinaire is there to greet me, asks me if I'm thirsty? Offers the drinks available. A touch of class! I might add, Caity is a fashion Queen! Her hairstyle with bangs, definitely fits her lifestyle; tattoos, handbag & heels to boot! The stereo plays her upbeat tunes, her smile, she even works the colors in for burning man, people! Made a BIG Mistake in not going to Amy...but because of timing instead went to one of her chair rental people, Louie. I am a very busy business man and at the beginning made it clear that timing was difficult...canceled 2 times with plenty of notice..rescheduled each time. Today was informed via my wife, that he was not going to accept an appointment with me. WOW...didn't have the guts to call me! Well the haircut never was that great..and now he has lost two more clients. Must have lots and lots of business, although always said he was empty!
