Drive-Thru Menu as of 07/27/2014

2026/01/08 Update: I come by here a few times a month to get my chili fix and I just realized I haven't updated my review, When I drove thru the drive-thru , I saw the drive thru window was boarded up, the menu board has a sign that said, they were open. There was no speakers to order thru, I drove to the cashier window and asked if they were open and was told they were open, I asked why the window was boarded up, she told me that a drugged up homeless person went crazy and broke the windows. They were friendly, nice and professional, they used to be open 24/7 but they cut back on their hours, now they are open till 2-3 in the morning, Their food hasn't changed, still the same yummy chili burgers and chili fries.

It was pouring rain and nothing hits better than something hot on a cold night. I had not been here in ages, but after ice-skating and with the rain still coming down, my friend and I decided to stop by.The employees were very nice, the service was fast, and the food was just classic comfort food. They have a drive through and they also have a small covered outdoor seating area. There is no indoor seating, but the covered tables were enough to keep us dry. If you are craving a chili cheese dog or a chili cheeseburger, this is the place. That is what they are known for and it really hit the spot.

Combo 2 with chilli fries, sorry already half eaten lol

What a nice surprise, The person that helping at the drive thru was super nice and polite, He made sure everything was exactly as I asked and reassure it was complete. even offered me a bigger meat patty and jamie it FIRE adding spicy stuff and chilli. great service. I will be back for sure

So glad I found this nostalgic Tommy's , I haven't had it in forever. Of course I order the combo with chillie cheese fries LOL My drive thru experience wasn't bad at all , very straight forward for a lunch time rush. I was there for an early lunch. Ambiance seemed easy going , I don't think this location has seating inside. St and some restaurant parking spaces available. So delicious !!

This location is on a corner lot. One direction in and one direction out. Parking is limited. Ordered a hamburger and fries along with a soft serve ice cream cone. The service was quick and we were off on our way. The area location is in Van Nuys on Victory.

Perfect, soft bun, and extra chili Excellent Better than the Tommy's over on Rampart and Beverly

In the area and I remember how good this place was the last time. Ordered the double chili cheeseburger extra chili with nothing else and it was delicious cooked perfectly soft bun and the chili was not dry. Crew lead (Jefferson is his name) was very nice and pleasant to work with.

This is my guilty pleasure spot that I love to pick up on a last minute whim on a weekday. They do have the best chili burger in town. Plus, they are minutes away from me. When I do order from their drive through on the way home from work I love to order everything double and triple decker. I usually get their Triple Chili Cheeseburger with no mustard and pickles. I mean on a cheat meal why not go all out. I also order their Double Chili Burger too. Their fat fries are a perfect compliment to it all. I also usually order 3x of each item and we eat them for days. I also don't eat the buns so I feel a little less guilty but it's so good how can you resist.

Good old Tommy's, we got a double berger and a drink, for some reason it wasn't as good as I remember, the service was good and quick and the servers very nice. The French fries were very good! My wife had a soft serve cone, but it was pretty Ambiance ate a small drive through really?

Very Convenient location because it has drive thru ! Everyone is always very kind , food is tasty and fresh , hot . Also it's a good idea to sign up to their e-club ! You will be notified of deals and promos ! Everything is pricey nowadays so when the OG Tommy's sends me an email with 2.99 chili burgers I'm going !! Jefferson the manager is very kind and proactive with guests . Thank you Tommy's a Cali legend for good reason .

So good. Buddy approved.

Tommy's has the best chili burgers in the City. They are filled with flavor, greasy, and yummy. They are not for those who want healthy food. They are made the old fashion way and they taste do great. They also have breakfast, hot dogs and all sorts of drinks. You can dine in, which is always fun or get it to go, use the drive thru or have it delivered. The service is super nice. This is one of our favorite Tommy's. If you are in town try it.

Another deliberately crushed, colder than room-temp burger.

The drive thru line wait is way too long. Took me half an hour with only a couple cars in front of me, to get my order. Terrible service

People are friendly, both in terms of the staff and the patrons. Ambience is also casual, but has enough of a special quality to it that makes it appropriate for friends or meeting someone new for the first time It can get a little bit crowded during peak hours, but I've always found a table.

The atmosphere is casual and…read morefestive, with TV's playing sports and a varied crowd that includes daters, older couples, families and singles making the most of their weekend. There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

We paid $68 for two salads and an order of fries, which felt overpriced for the quality and portions. What really stood out, however, was the customer service. I visited with my mother and my toddler son. Since my son wasn't going to eat fried food, I bought him a fruit smoothie from a neighboring business. While we were already in line paying for our order, the owner or manager approached us and informed us that outside food and drinks were not allowed because the restaurant is kosher. Although he said he would make an exception this one time, he approached us again while we were waiting outside for our food. We had chosen to sit outside because the restaurant was crowded, loud, and stuffy inside. Despite us not causing any issues, he again insisted that the smoothie could not be on the premises and began explaining that his license could be suspended due to association rules. We politely told him it wasn't a problem and decided to take our food to go. I understand businesses have policies, but the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational, especially considering the drink was for a toddler and we had already spent nearly $70 at the restaurant. Between the mediocre food, high prices, and rude customer service, I would not return. There are plenty of better dining options in the area.
