However, I made my first visit on Original Tommy's 80th Anniversary day (15 May 2026) to the Van Nuys location and found the quality of the burger to be lacking. Maybe it was because they had over 100 customers in line waiting for $0.80 chilicheese brugers. The fries are consistently crispy and have a great snap, making them the perfect pairing for dipping into that chili-cheese gooey goodness. The ambience is straightforward, featuring only outdoor seating. They also have a solid drive-thru game (when they aren't having an anniversary promo). 2026/01/08 Update: I come by here a few times a month to get my chili fix and I just realized I haven't updated my review, When I drove thru the drive-thru , I saw the drive thru window was boarded up, the menu board has a sign that said, they were open. There was no speakers to order thru, I drove to the cashier window and asked if they were open and was told they were open, I asked why the window was boarded up, she told me that a drugged up homeless person went crazy and broke the windows. They were friendly, nice and professional, they used to be open 24/7 but they cut back on their hours, now they are open till 2-3 in the morning, Their food hasn't changed, still the same yummy chili burgers and chili fries. read more

It was pouring rain and nothing hits better than something hot on a cold night. I had not been here in ages, but after ice-skating and with the rain still coming down, my friend and I decided to stop by.The employees were very nice, the service was fast, and the food was just classic comfort food. They have a drive through and they also have a small covered outdoor seating area. There is no indoor seating, but the covered tables were enough to keep us dry. If you are craving a chili cheese dog or a chili cheeseburger, this is the place. That is what they are known for and it really hit the spot. read more

This is my guilty pleasure spot that I love to pick up on a last minute whim on a weekday. They do have the best chili burger in town. Plus, they are minutes away from me. When I do order from their drive through on the way home from work I love to order everything double and triple decker. I usually get their Triple Chili Cheeseburger with no mustard and pickles. I mean on a cheat meal why not go all out. I also order their Double Chili Burger too. Their fat fries are a perfect compliment to it all. I was turned away because this location apparently does not accept any credit cards or debit cards issued by my bank. This is the worst experience I have ever had at any fast food restaurant. Three of our cards were declined even though we had money. That's when I found out they refuse any card from my bank, which is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
