We ordered the mushroom omelet with the mushroom sauce on the side and the Dutch Baby. The omelet itself was pretty basic, and the sauce tasted a bit plain. The Dutch Baby, though, was really interesting. It was my first time trying one, and our waitress showed me how to put it together and eat it, which made it a fun experience. There were several pieces of apple throughout the waffle, the syrup wasn't even necessary. They definitely recommend getting this if you are interested. I got the French toast, which was fine. It was made on French Bread which made it a little chewy. I've been here a few times and this is the only thing I would not recommend. It wasn't bad, but everything else is better. The waitress was extremely nice and had them clean of the grill and avoid peanut oil for the pancakes which is extremely thoughtful and just going way above and beyond. So thank you for that! Prices have also seemed to increase making this a not so affordable breakfast. For those reasons I have cut back on how often I go here. I like the apple pancake but be warned that it is huge! I've been to the Pancake House on Main St in Williamsville many times but this was the 1st time at this location. The inside is much more open than the other location and has a huge parking lot. Both pluses. Coming here I never think of the normal bacon and egg type of meal. Today I ordered the seafood crepes that came with potato pancakes which is a regular side for many of their dishes. The crepe was loaded with nicely cooked shrimp. It also had imitation crab meat and clams which I actually didn't taste much of. The sherry wine sauce was the perfect creamy topping. I also enjoyed my crispy non greasy potato pancakes. My friends ordered one of their specialties, the apple pancake. My husband ordered the placek french toast. Everything seems to be enjoyed by all. Our server was excellent, coming over at all the right times when I needed more coffee. Much appreciated. Side note, an order of 4 slices of bacon was over $7! One of the best things about Original pancake house is, the food at all their locations are very consistent. There's absolutely, nothing fancy about their food at all. It's actually pretty basic. My friend and I met for breakfast this morning at the original house of pancakes! We both were feeling some chocolate chip pancakes and what better place to go than the pancake house! The service was so great, as soon as we walked in we were sat at a table in the dining room. I ordered a Coffee and every time the wait staff walked by, they topped my cup off. I have never even finished a cup of coffee I think because they kept refilling it! That was great because at least I never ran out of coffee which is a must in the mornings for me! What can I say about this place, it's a chain but it's also a classic! I always end up getting some of the same things when I come here, the Dutch baby, the Swedish crapes, or the now-removed-from-menu ham and mushroom crêpe. By the way, ask for this when you come in,sometimes they can still make it and it is wonderful. They need to re-add it to the menu! On this visit, they were fairly short staffed but the one waitress and hostess were doing a great job trying to keep up with everything. The dutch baby is a work of art and so delicious, and the crepes made at original pancake house are somehow hearty and delicious while retaining that light thin texture. Been to the location in Williamsville and from now on I will only go there. I understand Sundays at 10:00 are busy like most I just got out of church. The wait to get in was only 20 min. The wait for our food was double that. I wasn't in a rush but it was a little excessive. My other main problems where my sons food came out 5 min after ours. If anything his should have come out first or at the same time. To top it off maybe I should have ordered pancakes since it's in the name but I wanted the eggs Benedict, and it was gross and flavorless. They continue to take my favorites off the menu so delicacies like clam and egg cakes, Kosher Salami and eggs and seafood omelettes are nowhere to be found these days. But all the ingredients continue to be fresh, your coffee cup will never go empty, fresh cream for the coffee, and they have spectacular crêpes, Dutch baby and apple pancakes, and of course, their buttermilk pancakes. The potato pancakes are a bit oily, but acceptable. The corned beef hash can be dry but occasionally it is perfect. Their bacon is prepared as crispy as you would like and everything they do here they do properly. Their wait staff is well trained and attentive, and the silverware is appropriate to the fare. You won't be disappointed. As far as how long it takes for your name to be called, there's a reason this place is crowded so be patient. It will be worth it. read more

Got seated and upon lifting the pull down shades, all the window sills were filthy. The staff "uniforms" were dirty and the overall ambiance was "yuck". We had already ordered when most of the above was noticed. Bathroom was much the same. Eggs (scrambled)tasted weird and the potato pancakes were decent. Best part was the sour cream. Got a smile when the machine came to the table. Ironic. All the front staff were gathered at the hostess desk chatting and laughing the whole time we were there, other than bring our food and the check. Came here basically just to try the Dutch baby my friend has been raving about - and it did not disappoint. It's a huge, beautiful baked pancake that takes 20-25 minutes to make (which they let you know ahead of time). When it comes to the table, they ask you if you would like it "prepared" with the various toppings - lemon, butter, powdered sugar and strawberry. I said yes because it's part of the experience and was also my first time! I loved the hint of lemon, it tasted so fresh against all the sweetness. Original Pancake House is one of the best family friendly restaurants in the area, and a great option for if you're looking for a no fuss, inexpensive meal to enjoy with friends. We've been to this location probably about a dozen times now and have never had a negative experience. As one would expect, they have a pretty extensive diner style menu with many choices of breakfast meats, eggs, pancakes, crepes, sandwiches, etc. We've sampled many options during our visits here, but without fail we always make sure to order some of their buttermilk pancakes (the best traditional buttermilk pancakes we've ever had!) and their fresh squeezed orange juice (pulpy and delicious!). Some of the other items on their menu are a bit hit or miss (I'm usually a French toast person but theirs leaves a bit to be desired), but on the whole I'm always happy to come to Original Pancake House for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Service is generally quick, polite, and no nonsense, which we appreciate - the place is large so often times they are serving quite a large amount of people. Even so, the food never takes too long and is always hot and solidly 4 star quality. Don't expect for the red carpet to be rolled out, but we keep coming back! This was my first time going because of this and we decided to just wait in line instead of going somewhere else. You have to write your name on the check in board to be seated. I think the longest time we waited was for our food, not bad but it definitely took a while. The food was fine, nothing too special. Giving three stars because I had inconstant visits. A few weeks ago, I went for breakfast and ordered the bacon pancakes. They were delicious and perfect! I returned yesterday with my parents for a quick breakfast and ordered the same - except this time they were almost inedible. Multiple big cubes of very undercooked bacon fat were in the pancakes and I had to dig them out and basically eat around them. My mom got the strawberry pancakes which she said were delicious and my dad really enjoyed the hash, but this visit disappointed me.
