This restaurant was in this shopping center many years ago; then it moved across the street. The place on the other side of Leeman Hwy did what seemed like a good amount of take-out business, but it was filthy inside. We didn't want to eat there even though we like their pansit Tagalog. We were pleased when we saw their move back to the shopping center. The current location is clean and bright with giant photos of bamboo on the walls. The pansit Tagalog is very good (even better with a squeeze of lemon juice). We have also tried the beef lo mien and several other dishes that were all good. The boneless ribs are better than you get most places around here. The chicken wings are good. The fried rice has nothing in it, but it is a good vehicle for duck sauce. The egg rolls are an abomination. Burnt tubes oozing grease. Avoid the egg rolls, which is hard to do since they accompany many of the plate offerings. They charge $1.50 for substitutions, so our answer is to simply throw away the egg rolls. read more

This is the place to go in this area for excellent Chinese food. The restaurant is spotless, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is always amazing- fresh, crispy veggies, tender shrimp, steamy clouds of rice. I always get mine to go, and the wait is never more than 5-10 minutes. The prices are quite reasonable, as well. read more

The UP side to this review is the next time I am asked if I'd like to go to the Oriental garden; my answer will be swift and without hesitation. "Nope". I arrived at 6:48. I waited until 6:51 for someone to take my order. It took 9 minutes to take an order of 3 total items...because each time the phone rang, it was answered, their order was taken and brought back to the kitchen. I then stood at the counter, with cash out, in front of my order slip that had not been brought to the kitchen for 4 minutes. The decor is painfully lacking but one can easily overlook aesthetics if they're getting a silky, spicy, tart hot and sour soup...but that wasn't the case for this gal. I ordered Singapore noodles (that nights special), a cup of hot and sour soup and a soda. After waiting 32 minutes from the time I sat down until the time I was walking out with my 1 single item that needed to be cooked, I brought home dinner. The noodles were over cooked (read:baby food) and upon taking the first bite I had a dry powder explosion from a dust-ball of commercially prepared "curry" powder. Aaaagh. No problem. I'll take a sip from my TWO DOLLAR can of soda. Nope!! They didn't put that in to my bag. It's ok. I'll take a sip of this soup instead...what a terrible choice it turned out to be. The soup was gelatinous, the vinegar had steamed off some time between 11 and 7ish, there was no hint of heat or spice and the "broth" aka slime, at this point...was an oddly red hue. So. Poor decor. Bad customer service. 40 min of my life wasted. $21 for an entree and soup (and the MIA soda). The verdict is? Even a vegetarian would be happier to go across the street to McDonald's. Or Next door to Little Cesar's. Or over to Shaws...glory. Get a protein shake at Wallgreens. read more

Ordered crab Rangoon, egg rolls, chick chow mien (that came with a tiny box of fried rice) and chick fingers. Total cost was $30 and change. Pros: The woman owner is very friendly and only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one. Cons: The crab rangoons had this red, sweet filling that tasted way too fishy. Chow mien was average, but didn't look fresh. Egg rolls were tiny, tasteless, grease bullets. The fried rice was ok, but the box was about the size of half a soda can. Chick fingers were extra greasy and didn't seem fresh. I won't be going back for sure. It's weird cause they have pretty good Google reviews. I should've checked Yelp!!! read more

Stopped in for carry out. Ordered steamed dumplings and orange chicken. Got home and noticed one of the styrofoam boxes had leaked sauce all over the bag. They are aware of this issue as they wrapped it in a plastic bag, the solution would have been to put the sauce in a little container like the duck sauce came in. This made for a mess at home. The dumplings are huge but meh, lots of dough. One of the dumplings had a long stringy unidentifiable substance, resembled casing, it was disgusting! When I was waiting for my order 2 women walked in. They caught a glimpse of someone in the kitchen and said it was the same business that was originally across the street. Then they left. That should have been my warning. Stick to Thai and Vietnamese in the midcoast region. read more

Zero Stars. Of two combo meals (as take-out), one was totally inedible and went into the trash and one was barely edible with half being thrown out. Specifically, chicken fingers were stale and tasteless, egg rolls were disgusting in both flavor and texture, pork fried rice was tasteless, and the General's chicken was overcooked to shoe-leather toughness as well as being tasteless. I wholeheartedly disagree with the other reviewers. The meals are loaded with FRESH vegetables, which is a rarity in a lot of American Chinese restaurants. The lo-mein is delicious. Best of all, the Pancit Tagalog and Lumpia are phenomenal. I was visiting a friend in Maine and I came across this restaurant on a strip mall. First off, I am from Los Angeles California. Chinese and Filipino restaurants are a dime a dozen. It was a good surprise to see one in the area and let me tell you, the food is pretty amazing. I ordered Wor Bar and the Gai Po Lo Mein. It's so good. I was staying at the hotel across the street from this restaurant and placed an order for delivery. After an hour of waiting, i decided to call to find out the status of the order. Owner was very rude and without any apologies, all she said was "your food will be there now." After another half hour, delivery guy showed up with busted bag with sauce dripping everywhere, without any fork or chopsticks, and again, no apologies. Food was cold, ingredients are outdated, and most importantly, it was not what i ordered. Words of advise to the owner if you even bother to read the reviews of your customers: "Learn how to cook!" "Customer service and fresh ingredients are important keys and foundation of the restaurant business." Food was fresh and the quality of the ingredients seemed good, and was well cooked. The Crab Rangoons were also tasty and staff was polite. However the dishes weren't anything like regular American Chinese food dishes. My husband and I ordered General Tsos and Kung Pow Chicken and they were nothing like the signature dishes, the king pow had no peanuts no spice to it and the sauce was all wrong. Same story with my husbands General Tsos, tasted more like Burbon chicken. Like I said the quality of the food was good but simply not what we thought we ordered and for the price just not worth it. read more

Cute decor for a small place and the staff is super nice. We had lo mein, shrimp, and teriyaki skewers which were all good. Lots of nice fresh vegetables--even fresh mushrooms--in the lo mein. Would recommend it for take out or eat in if you're not looking for anything fancy. Would definitely go again. read more

We ordered for delivery during a snowstorm. The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant. The food arrived in 15 minutes and was hot and delicious. My teenage son doesn't usually eat fried rice but he loved the fried rice that came with his meal. We will order from this restaurant again. read more
