Large side of fries. Ask for the seasoning on top. Similar to Red Robin's seasoning.

Great fried food at this location. Great value too. We got super crispy chicken tenders and fries (ask for the seasoning on top of fries). Yummy treat! Friendly staff.

Great, basic fried chicken. The decor of the restaurant is pretty so so, but the chicken is great. Best as a takeout place.

Great gyros. Cashier wouldn't stop staring at my fiancee's boobs. Just leering absurdly. Great gyros though.

I'm actually shocked that, in all my perusing of Portland food spots, I'd never heard of Kuno…read morebefore seeing it by chance in an Uber one day and deciding to investigate. This place is a food haven: small, cozy, affordable, and absolutely delicious. I came for dinner with my partner on a weekday evening, and it was totally empty except for one other party. The space is pretty small, but has a very quaint, homey atmosphere: think ambient lighting, darker wood, a simple menu. The service was fantastic. We were immediately welcomed in, and our waiter checked in on us often. We ordered the crab wontons to start, the Kuno chicken sandwich, and a fried rice that I now am forgetting the name of and can't locate on the online menu. We also ordered two cocktails. Everything came out hot and was absolutely delicious: you can just tell that the food here is made with love. The crab wontons were jaw-droppingly good -- I'll definitely be getting that again -- as was the fried rice, which had tender strips of chicken and that elusive wok hei that I've struggled to find in Portland restaurants. The fried chicken sandwich was great too, though smaller portioned. My partner and I tend not to order cocktails at restaurants, since so often you're getting three sips worth of a drink for something like $15, but Kuno's cocktails were such a treat. They were unique, tasty, complex, and actually sizable -- my cocktail kept me hydrated through the entirety of my entree, which is rare these days! Overall: I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon this spot. I can't wait to return!

I've driven down Cumberland Avenue countless times and somehow never noticed Kuno. It's an easy…read morespot to miss -- definitely in "hole in the wall" territory --but it's one worth finding. On a recent snowy Saturday night, we were looking for a casual, affordable sit-down dinner. The challenge? It's Portland, so most places close by 9 pm. Kuno, open until 11 pm, was a welcome surprise. The restaurant has a cozy, neighborhood feel with plenty of free street parking nearby. When you walk in, the bar area is the first thing you see. It almost feels like the bar's the whole restaurant, but there's a small dining room tucked in the back. The bar itself seemed like a great spot to grab a cocktail and a bite, and I'd come back just for that. The menu isn't huge, but it has a solid variety. I stole a bite of my husband's spicy chicken sandwich, and it was easily a 10/10. The bread was fluffy, the chicken thick and juicy, and the slaw on top gave it a yummy twist. My ground chicken with basil came with a crispy fried egg, but it leaned a little salty. I also assumed the egg would be sunny-side up, which was on me. I'd still order it again, but the chicken sandwich was the clear winner. We also got a few apps: the wings were juicy with a generous portion, the pork dumplings were delish, and the crab wontons, while tasty, leaned more cream cheese than crab filling. Drinks-wise, they offered cocktails, beer, and even full bottles of wine; we ordered a $40 bottle of Italian red. Our two entrées, three apps, and wine came to about $110, which felt reasonable for the portions and quality, especially given the area. We left happy and will definitely be back when we're in the mood for no-frills Thai food. Kuno is exactly that -- homey, unpretentious, and casual, but still a place where you can order a reasonably priced bottle of wine and get solid service.

I stopped here for a bagel earlier this week and it was very satisfying. I got an everything bagel…read morewith egg, herb cream cheese, and turkey bacon. It was a scrumptious combo and I thought the bagel itself was a very good bagel. Each addition is a bit pricey - $4.50 each for the egg and turkey bacon, for example. In general for their own specialty bagels or for a combo of three things you make yourself, you're looking at a $15+ bagel. However, said bagel also comes with an enjoyable ambiance. It's a bit indie/cutesie/intentionally lighthearted but very enjoyable. There are window seats to look out on to the street and a whole separate large room of tables that would make for a good place to get some work done if that is the goal. There is sweet gift section with the Russ & Daughters story/cookbook, t shirts, and clever hand-designed cards. The service was hit or miss - one employee was very attentive, another seemed annoyed to have to serve customers (although in a NYC deli, after which this place appears to take its inspiration, a little grinchiness perhaps makes the experience more authentic). All around, a few small negatives, but I really enjoyed my bagel and its surroundings, so five stars.

Sometimes I just like to sit in the window and eat my breakfast and do the crossword puzzle and pretend I have a life of leisure. The Monday Morning bagel sandwich -- chopped liver and gribenes -- so good! My Nana is summoned from the beyond whenever I eat it. Add the pickled red onions to it. Everything is better with pickled red onions.

I adore a bakery! As a future owner I hope that I replicate the chill vibe in here. Lots of people coming and going. Lots of bread and cookies. My kids loved the cookies. I loved the bread. The seating was tight but cozy. There was a small kids table in the corner with stuff to keep kids busy. The bathrooms were clean and the place was wide open. We were going there anyhow to pick up bread for leftover Thanksgiving sandwiches so we decided to order there. Soup of the day was tomato, sausage and lentil-it was excellent, very flavorful. Wish I had gotten more than a cup. It comes with a hefty sized piece of non toasted sourdough. Also excellent was the oatmeal raisin cookie, we also got chocolate chip but I have not tried them yet. Good chips (Hal's NY Kettle chips) & pickle spears for a side. I got the roast beef panini with their Boursin cheese. My husband got the tuna melt with smoked mozzarella, which he really enjoyed. Mine was ok, I believe there was just one and a half pieces of roast beef, plenty of cheese, a little red onion and red pepper. It desperately needed seasoning of some sort-especially the cheese, and it was very rich being Boursin. If the onions were pickled, or it had banana peppers, or some type of acidic relish it would have helped greatly. I did eat my pickle which helped a little. I saved most of it to fix it up at home. It was a large sandwich, bread-wise. More meat would have been nice but the price was pretty decent. Both sandwiches, 2 bags of chips, 4 cookies, cup of soup, and a nice big loaf of white bread was $50.40 after tax & tip. Street parking only.
