Inner dinning room. There is another one when you step into the restaurant.

We came here on 6 Oct 2024 on the way home from Londonderry NH and ordered a soup Dumplings, century egg porridge, dry Sichuan fish pot, pork fried Hor fun and fried string beans. The string bean is very tasty, the dry pot fish has all the right ingredients and is spicy and nice, and the pork hir fun is great. The porridge is not hong king style. The soup dumpling are also good enough.

I had several dim sum and every one was phenomenal and all the doughs were homemade and fillings were stuffed to capacity and really flavorful. I've had dim sum in London, Amsterdam, NYC, the best in Flushing, Boston, San Francisco- Yank Sing, San Antonio and hundreds of more places, obviously I love and try dim sum wherever I travel, so believe me when I was so pleasantly surprised and amazed with Oriental Flavor, the ambience was really pleasant and bustling with diners, staff and take out. One slight disappointment were the boiled wontons with hot oil they lacked salt and sesame oil for my liking but even so they get a 3.5 stars, the pan fried dumplings get an A+++ the other dim sum all get 5 stars

Honestly I passed by this restaurant based on the exterior building's appearance. And I only relented to stopping for lunch because all the restaurants were full. But to my surprise, the food here was excellent! The dim sum is definitely freshly made but the best was the beef and broccoli. They used a high quality cut of beef and it was the best beef and broccoli I've ever had. Looking forward to coming back for more!

My fiancé and I drive about 45 minutes from Connecticut when we are craving dim sum. There's no good dim sum around the Hartford area. Either we drive here or towards Mohegan casino for dim sum. We were told they make their own dumplings here and every time we order, it taste fresh not store bought. We always order shrimp dumplings and seafood shumai. You can see the stream rising from the dumplings and the transparent wrapping is soft! Beef tripe here is good and can't complain about that. The fried shrimp balls are always yummy and chicken feet could have been cooked a bit longer to let the meat fall off the bone. I like their hot and sour soup here, it's prob one of my favorites. However today was an off day with this soup. We also ordered the seafood congee and it had no flavor (don't order it!). Overall, we will return when we want to take the drive. We still like this place, this doesn't beat Boston dim sum (still my favorite)

I come here whenever I have a craving for dim sum. I always get the century egg and pork rice porridge, shu mai, and I switch between the steamed bean curd rolls, steamed spare ribs, and tripe. I know that my friends are huge fans of the pork noodle soup, and come back just for that. For western MA, the quality is pretty good however not as good as what you could get in Chinatown or other spots near Boston. No matter what time I come the restaurant is usually populated with other patrons which just goes to show how well-liked this place is. The staff is attentive and prompt, which is nice and results in pretty high turnover rates. The longest I've ever had to wait for a table was maybe 10 or 15 minutes. The serving sizes of the entrees are very generous and can be shared between two or more people. Overall, a tasty Chinese restaurant that always hits the spot!

BEST DIMSUM IN THE AREA!!! have tired many other places in the area and this is the most delicious, fresh, and authentic dimsum i've had. dishes rival boston china town classics (cough, hai la moon, cough) shumai was plump and juicy, extremely tender and had the perfect amount of mushrooms for that chefs kiss umami bite. har how was to die for, the shrimp had a wonderful flavor, juicy crispy and plump, not oversteamed and overall delicious. soup dumplings where incredibly soupy but lacked complex flavor, just tasted like pork, for pork lovers a must try, but i thought it was a little one noted. sadly since most of the soup dumplings had burst as we picked them up, it was clear that the skin was a little over steamed as well. wishing their was steamed rice rolls on their menu! can't wait to go back and try more

I apologize to every Asian cuisine in Amherst, including the now defunct Arigato Sushi, because…read moreFormosa Chinese, formerly Amherst Chinese, still provides service and food that are incredible and deserve state-wide recognition. Formosa has an affordable lunch menu, and even on busy days has delivered my meal within ten minutes. Don't be astounded yet, because I would easily wait twenty minutes for this food. When their food arrives from the delicious variety of their lunch specials, you will be treated to crispy tofu, a nuanced spice for chili or jalapeño meals, or fresh vegetables that will make you wonder: who is introducing you to the best cuisine that southeast Asia has to offer? Sichuan meals, Mandarin meals, and even with a Miso soup that is vibrant and delicate in flavor, you may not have any difficulty in deciding at all because any meal you choose will be cooked with what tastes like generations of expertise, love, and wisdom. It is not possible to follow a recipe, or a video, or a shopping trip and recreate the food at the level of Formosa, nor at the price of Formosa, and I say this after years of enjoying their meals. If you are in the area and you are hungry, you will want to visit Formosa as it is an unbelievably satisfying trip for almost any person in the continental USA, and likely for international travelers from near and far. Please tip your staff generously and leave a review to share this love--there is no amount of business they can do that will do the history and delight in their food justice. Their food is accessible to the local public, and they also donate to local causes as well. Amherst has more than universities that educate people here, they have restaurants with generations of stories and wisdom in every meal. You'll be amazed at the silky luxury their hot and sour soup is, with a texture matching the fresh micro mushrooms inside. Be prepared and humble, the staff are dedicated, responsible, and attentive to the public as much as they can. I would love to read a book about the story of this restaurant some day.

Sidewalks were torn up but the place is hard to find with lack of signage. We were able to get seated right away, and looked through their digital menu. We got a smattering of dishes, wontons and dumplings, a sandwich and a ramen. Food came out in a reasonable wait time. We took pics and dug in. The 7 flavor dumpling was the star of the show. Light and thin dumpling wrapper, savory sweet sauce, plenty of filling. The pork dumplings were good, but the wrapper was thicker and denser. The twice cooked pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the pork needed to be more present compared to the veggies, but appreciated the crisp of the bread. The ramen had a good amount of braised beef and noodles. The broth needed a little doctoring to coax out some of the more savory notes. Broth needed more aggressive seasoning though. The price was not too bad for the area. It's kind of like dim sum, where you get a small plate for the price but it's all shareable and the flavors are good. It's not very well lit, gave the place a very dark air about it. But as a restaurant, it's pretty good. There's a lot of great places in that area, and this one's a good option if you're looking for small plates.

Turns out, that was a very apt description. We arrived and got seated at a table with a very nice curved window view. I can imagine being here on a rainy or snowy day and getting to be surrounded by the weather while not having to get wet. The service was friendly, if mostly absent, and fast. This place mostly loses stars on the food. We had: wonton soup, miso soup, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons, happy family, tangerine chicken, and asparagus and snap peas with shrimp. The wonton soup seemed to be a beef broth soup, interesting change up from any wonton soup I've had before, a little salty and good wontons. The miso soup was also a good miso. The crab rangoons were too sweet and the wrapper too thick, thus making it chewy, but at least you could tell there was something in there beyond just cream cheese. The hunt for good crab rangoons continues. The scallion pancakes were very thick, but at least not greasy. The sauce was punchy and pleasant. The asparagus and snap peas with shrimp was positioned as having a light flavor, and that was very accurate. Almost like they were steamed and then served, but you could see a sauce coating them. The happy family was coated in a brown sauce that didn't carry much flavor either, but nothing was wrong either. The tangerine chicken was listed as one spicy out of three, and I'm happy to report they understand spicy rating. While the broccoli was chopped a tad large, the chicken was cooked very well, and you got just some spice on the back end with sweet on the front. Overall, nothing here was bad, but it also came across and middling. If you asked me to write this review a couple days from now I feel I'd have trouble remembering anything about this place except the window seat. I am willing to try some of the other aspects of the menu some time in the future, but I'm not sending anyone running here either.

I wish they had a more seamless system for handling this (in an app or taking phone numbers instead). We ordered lots of dishes to share.. pineapple buns with roast pork, the viral crab rangoon scallion pancake, soup dumplings, rice rolls with ribs, etc. The standout for me was definitely the crab rangoon scallion pancakes. I 100% get the hype! It's ooey and gooey and perfect for any crab rangoon lover. I was however pretty disappointed in the pineapple buns (one of my favorite dishes) and soup dumplings, which honestly just tasted like they were frozen and reheated from the grocery store. The service was also very absent and it took awhile for us to wave someone down so we could pay our bill. Not sure if we visited on an off day or something, but I wasn't very impressed.
