From the moment I walked inside, I was impressed by how much variety this fairly small Asian buffet has to offer. I was greeted by the owner and seated by a very nice young lady and then, the festivities began! I went straight to the Sushi bar. Wow. I have had sushi in a lot of up-scale restaurants, but none of them were better and some of them were disappointing. (no names) - everything was amazingly great. Next on to the standard basic Chinese items, some not so basic, and everything I put in my mouth was a pleasant surprise. Not going to waste time itemizing each dish, just go get you some! I would even go so far as to try sushi for the first time at this restaurant! Remember, sushi is not always partially raw, only sashimi is completely raw. I did have to take a photo of the Awesome Dragon Tip Boat! Best Oriental Cuisine I have had this year!! SIX STARS!!! ****** read more

As far as buffets go, I was actually quite pleased. I'm sure it helped that I was there on a Saturday night when they were busy, so the food was constantly being refilled and was fresh. Timing is always a factor at any buffet. I did feel like they had more variety and options than what I'm use to seeing at Chinese buffets including the sushi bar and a quite extensive dessert bar. I was glad to see that they only charged me $1.50 for my hot tea overall. The service was good, the place was clean, I was happy with my food choices and it was a good value. read more

The chicken did not taste like chicken. Not a good buffet. I thought there used to be better.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - quite typical of a Chinese buffet with some "sushi" items, different options for protein, soups, a lot more fried food than usual, and some dessert. The food did tend to lean on the saltier end compared to what we're used to so we went through quite a few cups of water. The shrimp nigiri was okay, but the rice for the sushi were hard and compacted. Service: 5/5 - quick service and extremely quick to clear our tables of used plates Ambiance: 5/5 - feels clean overall and we saw the waitresses constantly cleaning as tables emptied Value for price: 5/5 - decent food at a really good price. read more

Cleanest buffet i have been to. Food was super hot!! Service was normal like a buffet

We were seated quickly upon arrival. The restaurant itself appeared clean, as did the restroom facilities. The buffet itself was immediately impressive with a very wide selection of foods and in particular a small sampling of sushi rolls stood out in its own section as well as a dessert bar & ice cream cooler. The food was good, our server seemed to be juggling most of the room but did a good job on collecting used plates and topping off our soft drinks, because they prefer not to have customers use the soda fountain directly. Pricing was decent. Around $5 for our little kids, $8 for our bigger kids and $14 for adults + soft drinks charges. For 2 adults and 3 paying kids, we paid about $65 (without tip) for the all you can eat buffet and soft drinks. My wife loves sushi, and seemed satisfied with the quality of their selections in particular. We will likely visit them again in the future. read more

So gross.the food was horrible, super dried out, seemed really old. Poor quality. Concerning

It was great! Chicken nuggets were crispy, crab Rangoon was juicy, and egg rolls were loaded! I only recommend this place if you're a big eater (Unlike me) as of the high price of $15 per person, and $2.25 for a soft drink. read more

Oriental Buffet - The food cannon! Made with egg rolls, friend rice, chicken nuggets, and crab Rangoon - Chinese Near Me - Festus, Missouri

@Oriental Buffet Festus, MO A young guy called me a profound, obscene names verbally assaulting us while checking out. Will NOT come back to this establishment. I have been to several places and hate putting one stars! Never assault me again. Don't ever assume others don't know what you are saying in Chinese. Just because I did not eat. My mother and her friend did. Trying to explain to them that the bill will be split between my mother and her friend. I came up here from Farmington, MO to meet with my mother. Profiling individuals is not good for your establishment! I will also be putting this comment on Facebook and other places for reviews. They honestly thought I had food and argued to us on the matter. read more

If you like spice this is the place to go. Typical Asian buffet with mostly what you find at all others. What sets Oriental Buffet apart from the others is the spice level of their food. From the General Tso chicken to even the sautéed mushrooms this place brought the heat. Good food, good atmosphere, great service, and great prices. read more

This is a great restaurant run but the same family for 15 years.. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his son while dining.

Went there with a friend for lunch. I was shocked at the number of different dishes that were available. I took a small amount of each food from the first two tables and then came back for the next two tables. ALL of it was delicious! It was hot (not the usual lukewarm of most buffets) and tasty. Rangoons were good, spring rolls were too. The place was clean. Service was excellent with servers picking up plates as soon as we were finished. Finally a really good Chinese restaurant! I will be back. read more

I have tried MANY chinese buffet's in the St Louis Metro area. I have now been to this one twice. They have a small amount of sushi on the buffet which is quite tasty for a buffet. The hot and sour soup (I am a connoisseur) is wonderful. It was a little spicy but not too much. They had peanut butter on the buffet and it was amazing! The honey buttered rolls are awesome! Overall the food was better than expected. The only downfall is the service. They quickly take your dirty plates away and refill your drinks somewhat quickly but they are a little bit rude. I will go back. read more

To begin, as soon I as walked in with my 2 grandchildren, we were not greeted kindly at all, "How many?" Is all that the waitress said. After I told the lady "3", she walked us to our table, threw the silverware down then finished with, "Drinks?" I replied with, "Just water please and thank you." And as I began to say something else, she walked away without saying anything, so bad service to start. I shook it off, then we sat our stuff down, then walked up to the buffet. Nothing was bad about when we were getting our food, and all the counters appeared to be clean, and same with the dishes and silverware. Except when I was getting my rice, there wasn't a lot left, so the man behind the counter waited till I was done and then went to refill it, but I noticed I=he didn't have a hair cap, then I left behind the counter, towards the kitchen, and none of the other cooks had a hair nets, but I didn't think much of it. We got our food then sat down, said our prayer like we always did then started eating. I just got white rice and honey chicken to start, and it was so good I will admit, but what happens next makes me wish I never went there to begin with. We ate all our food and went back to the buffet for seconds, again everything was clean and no problem with getting our food. This time I got the same thing, except 2 pot stickers on the side. My granddaughter got the same thing as me, and the other made her own salad at the salad bar. We sat down to eat and everything was very good, I was full so I was just looking around and talking to my girls, when I stopped my granddaughter because she when pulled up her fork, there was a long hair covered in ranch that she almost ate! I didn't want to cause a scene so I just told her before she ate it and then we put a napkin over it. Then my other granddaughter saw a black curly piece of hair on her pot sticker! At this point I was done and wanted to leave, but they were still hungry and wanted dessert so I had to deal with the thought of everyone in the restaurant eating hair from the cooks. And I did stop to think if it was our hair but I'm a brunette and they are both blonde, plus we all have naturally straight hair. My granddaughter continued to her plate of rice and chicken, and because of what happened she was picking at it and keeping a close eye at every bite, until she gently set her fork down and pushed the plate away, "I am not hungry anymore." She said, and I can't blame her, we were all disgusted, each plate we had, had hair. We paid for it then left, $44 for what felt like hairballs on each plate. I understand some reviews are fake, but not this one, I even have evidence. I hope this is convincing enough for you to not visit here because personally I am so disgusted and I can almost guarantee we all ate hair before noticing, don't waste your time and money at the place, TRUST ME. read more

I haven't been there in a while. I don't know why I just think there's too much to choose from and I'm trying to diet when I was there. The food was very good. read more

Tip of the day: Around 4 in the afternoon, they replenish the food for dinner. Everything is unbelievably fresh. We usually go around 6. So this was a special surprise! We thought it was delicious then but it was even better at 4! Service was good too. We were offered refills once. Plates were only removed once though. (Guess that means we ate A LOT! ) We had platesssss. read more

The food here is always excellent. Recently I left a small tip after lunch since the only service we had was delivery of drinks. The guy who paid before me received an enthusiastic "Thank you, sir!". (He must have tipped well?) All I received was a dirty look. Good service and friendly responses receive repeat business. Might want to work on that. read more

I love it!The food here is delicious. We come here every Sunday and man do I look forward to it.

Not a good visit. Food is pretty good. Service was barely fair. Not accommodating at all! I have always liked this place but not any more. I won't be back. I'm sure they don't care though. read more

The food was Luke warm. The best thing they had were pot stickers. Decent selection but not necessarily the best tasting and like I previously said Luke warm, not even close to bring hot. read more

Had more variety than I expected. Food was tasty. Price was lower than I expected. Overall exceeded my expectations.

This place was very good. The after effect are not good though LOL. The effects start about 10 minutes after your third plate. You start getting the stomach cramps and then you feel like you are gonna fall over and die. Later on you start running towards the bathroom and you get tunnel vision. read more

Tonight wasn't so great. My wife wanted Egg Foo Young and a side order of green beans. The waitress was rude and said she could only order a large order of green beans. The cost would have been more than the buffet, so she just ordered the buffet. The General Tzo's chicken was tough and the crab Rangoon had no crab in it. read more

Food is what you pay for. 5 stars because I know I can always come here to clear constipation.

Well I had to update this review, before I'd given a 5 star review. Since then I went back & was severely disappointed. The service was okay, but the food was dry. On top of that, they weren't stocking their buffet. Quite a few empty spots. The kicker for me was when the server tried to seat me @ a dirty table & when I asked her to clean it she just ran a dry napkin across it....I was appalled. read more

Terrible venue. Restrooms were filthy. Although buffet was varied and attractive, I doubt the food prep areas are sanitary. $76 for four people. Kid vomited behind us, staff continued to ignore the mess. I'm Full - but hope I didn't get E. coli. read more

Took my family for lunch today and in the half hour we were there I watched our waitress handle dirty plates, trash cans and wipe her nose with her hand several times and then handle cups to fill drinks and wipe off tables without ever washing her hands. We will not eat here ever again. read more

terrible service. only said like one word to me. i asked for iced tea and they gave me pink lemonade. one of the food bars wasn't even open, most of the food was either cold, stale, or expired/rotten. the red sauce was slimy on top. the fortune cookies were stale. the table was sticky and had food on it. crumbs in the seats, the napkins had food on them and the plates that were supposed to be clean also had food on them. the restaurant was just overall gross and dirty and the food was bad. i can not believe that i spent $30 here on 2 people for this crap. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I would give this place 5 stars, but every time my friends and i come here the service is terrible. We either have to refill our own drinks or wait ten minutes for someone to come over and flag them down to wait on us. We drive about 45 min cause the food is so good. Best Chinese food around. Just wish the service would up their game and this place would be amazing. read more
