    How Frank "repaired" the damage.
    Jen A.

I needed to have my bathroom window replaced and put it off for the longest time. One day, I got fed up with putting a piece of wood under the window to keep it open. I called Oregon Windows because they installed a small window in my front bedroom. They did a good job. I was impressed because a woman from OW sent someone out to measure within a half hour. When the guy (Frank) was measuring, I asked him about the wood trim around the window. I was concerned that it would get damaged during the installation because I just had my bathroom painted. Frank reassured me that the window trim would be fine. I went ahead and paid (what I thought was pretty overpriced, but I really needed to have this window done.) I ordered the window. They just left after installing the window. Uhhhhh....they damaged the window trim on both sides. I cannot express how bad my anxiety is right now. I now have to get that repaired AFTER I PAID OW $700+ FOR A WINDOW. Keep in mind that I paid someone to paint my bathroom $450. I expressed my concern to Frank before he left. He told me that there was a screw behind the trim that was attached to the old window - that when he pulled out the old window, the screw lifted the trim. He slathered on a bunch of caulk behind the broken piece of wood then slapped it back onto the trim and it is raised. How the hell does that look good? When he was leaving, he told me that I could just caulk it after it dries. Uhhh. It's not even, dude. $700+ for what?? I potentially have to put out more money now to fix the trim. *Edit* I called OW and told the woman what happened. She said that she would have Frank call me. No call back yet. Surprise, surprise. BUT, they were REAL quick to schedule the install and take my credit card number though.

Across past few years, Mel and his team have done 3 small-to-medium home-repair jobs for me…read more.. ...and he/they have been able to provide fast response, fast turnaround, and impressive quality work each time. 1) install dryer vent through brick house wall to reduce moisture in finished basement. 1 day inspection; job started and done next day. 2) extract/replace a broken water spout fixture for our outdoor hose attachment. Inspected one day, fixed the next. 3) when our tub began leaking through the ceiling, he came SAME DAY and stopped leak, fixed the tub, patched and repainted the ceiling... He's always been friendly, honest, and fair in his business about what he can/will/not do, Glad to hear he's moving up toward more commercial site jobs.

This Contractor Melvin all I can initially begin with is wow ohhhh wow!!!…read more JUST AS the previous reviewer expressed , this job was way to Big for him .. however he wanted to make the money so he said he had did this kind of remodel before and that wasn't true ...we selected him because of his price and claims he could do the job ..... i later found out his jobs were was mostly commercial or small sad home jobs HE WAS NICE WHEN ALL WAS GOING WELL ... but as soon as big goof ups happened with him and his subs , THE WHEELS FELL OFF MELVIN BECAME PETTY . ARGUMENTATIVE AND VERY JUVENILE!! I WAS SHOCKED!!! I WAS VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT I WANTED ... HE WAS NOT UP TO DATE ON A LOT OF MODERN DESIGN... Even trying to tell me certain things didn't exist until he would have to eat his words ... THE JOB ALSO WENT WAYYYY OVER THE SCHEDULE DATE TO HAVE FINISHED WHICH COST US MONEY ... He starting saying and doing things that weren't HONEST ... Like I said it started out well , but once he had to pay for MAJOR MISTAKES he got nasty and combative.... I wanted to give a black owned business a chance and boy did I regret doing that with THIS PARTICULAR BUSINESS.. This was a very very bad experience, our huge remodel eventually was done but I wouldn't wish what We went through to get there on anyone !

Nice people on the phone and they scheduled a person to come out and do an estimate very quickly. Paul was nice, patient with all my questions but during and after the appointment via email. He got me the estimate quickly and then came back out again to do exact measurements for the final estimate. Again, just very helpful throughout the process. Waiting for the windows took a while so I think we did end up waiting like 2-3 months between that visit and getting them installed which was the only negative of our experience. Installation team was fantastic. I think there were 3-4 people there. Ed was in charge. Just nice guys, we felt comfortable having them in the house. Cleaned up very well. Everything looks great and very professionally installed. Kept us updated with some random things they found (rotting wood) when reframing the windows. Again answered questions anytime we had them. On time both coming and leaving. Cost seems reasonable for what we got and from speaking with friends but I'm no window expert. Planning on having them come back out next year to finish the rest of the windows. Good experience overall.

Emerald Windows has done it again -- another round of high-fives to both Louie & Ameon! I knew a…read morewindows update to my home would be beneficial, but I underestimated the overall impact. It feels like a major home renovation. And in a lot of ways, it was -- the last three windows that Louie and Ameon expertly replaced for me turned out to be fully rotted around the frames, unbeknownst to me. As with the previous job, they handled everything with extreme care and attention to detail. The house was again spotless when they left. I felt like I was in great hands throughout. Cannot recommend Emerald more highly, but especially these two experts on their team!
