What can I say nice? The siding and window contractors were nice. Not much more than that! A "project manager" that does not communicate or follow up. delayed started. supposed to take 3-5 days took 2-1/2 weeks. The window that was supposed to be replaced at the same time was not ordered was "not ready" but they proceeded with the siding, which made the actual window installation more difficult. Hours after initial appt time for window got a call their truck broke down. middle of the following week got a call from project manager for payment and he had no idea the window was not done. Them had to wait again to reschedule. Next date they were supposed to be there between 12-2, got a text at 2 they would be there at 3:30, around 4 hubby contacts "project manager" who says or not handled by him, but I'll get somebody to find out what's going on. The window gets installed and the window glass is much smaller than the window that was removed. The window installer thought he was getting payment in full. I have not had the appointment yet to complete and approve the completion of the job. No payment yet.! Try to reach out to the company and specifically asked by name for the owner or VP of operations and was referred to the info email box. I'm not looking for a sales rapper project manager to reach out to me. I want somebody who's accountable!!! I don't even know where to begin with a review of Green Star Exteriors.  I'm still in shock at what I watched during installation.  They removed windows and doors that fit perfectly in their openings. After telling me they needed to "Custom Make" my windows and doors, they installed products that were much smaller than the openings they had from removed items. This had my jaw dropping.  One installer spent hours covering and filling in the spaces left with a smaller product. There were white metal shavings everywhere.  There was caulk left on much of the glass which I'm still removing as I had the windows done in dead of winter and doors just installed first week of April 2026. There is still cardboard out in my bushes and I've picked up numerous pieces of aluminum around my yard. I still can't even wrap my head around their process. How can this even be energy efficient? I was totally disappointed when I shook the sliding door to find, not surprising, that it is weak due to it not being the size of the opening. I think I could kick it down. I always felt my old Andersen doors were solid. But they were as old as the house. I'm left asking myself, what have I done?  I wish I hadn't fallen for the scam. Prices are not cheap, though they compare themselves to Renewal by Andersen, who are very expensive. You get what you pay for, but this company is extremely deceiving! As far as communication, they measured, then I did not hear from them. I had to call. Not even to confirm the day or days before installation. I added a photo of a sliding door that was installed. Door to door salesman(Rich) came to my house and wouldn't stop banging on the door and ringing the bell and then reaching over my railing to bang on bedroom and living room windows. I begged him several times over the camera to stop and he didn't. Of course this woke up my sleeping special needs baby which my wife was thrilled about. She works from home and was on a business call purposefully taken while the baby rested. I was in the backyard taken care of our other child and doing yardwork. I finally went to the front yard and said I wasn't interested and he stated cursing at me and telling me I needed medication. Wouldn't stop talking about my bad roof even though it's just a few years old. I demanded he leave my property and he refused. I told him no to his sales pitch repeatedly and he called me stupid and reckless for not listing to his warning of my dangerous roof. I requested he give up and move on. At that point he kept threatening me and saying he would kick the $hit out of me and beat my @$$ to the ground. He kept cursing and telling me to suck a certain body part. All loud enough that neighbors came out. After that he hopped back in his car and sped off down the road honking his horn still screaming out the window and almost hit a car coming out of a nearby driveway. I've used Green Star Exteriors 2 years ago to replace jalousie windows on my porch. I'm happy that they came knocking door to door because I have needed new windows for years. When I say new windows my home is over 90 years old and I still have some original windows. I'm replacing 29 windows, so it will be a big job. Today Chandler Thompson came out to go over what I was looking for, and he is the most honest and knowledgeable Home Improvement Specialist. Not a salesman, but someone who knows what he is doing and was able to quote me a reasonable price to replace all my windows, yet gave me options to get the look I wanted without the cost I was quoted by other companies. He straight forward doesn't try to upsell or add something on you don't want or need. I highly recommend him. read more

So the gentleman who came out was very helpful and detailed in explaining options and recommendations for windows. After about a 45 minute discussion and salesman pitch, the gentleman discussed a price. While the product described was quite high quality, the quote given "after big club discount", was still several thousands of dollars over 4 other quotes with similarly high quality products. Upon discussing this and not being willing to sign up "right now" (which was discussed upon his arrival, that NO contract or windows were being purchased same day), the gentleman changed his tune and became quite irritable and rude. He then said how he "must not have done a good job" if I didn't buy the windows right away. He then took over 10 minutes to pack up and leave, making it very awkward and frustrating. read more

I was told the "floor price" of $22,000 was only available if I signed a contract on the spot, while the "ceiling price" of $32,000 would apply if I waited even a short time. For context, my home is a small, single-story ranch, so these figures immediately seemed excessive. When I questioned the pricing and approach, the representative became defensive and raised his voice, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I ultimately chose a different contractor who is completing the same work--with comparable materials and warranties--for $10,000 less than Green Star's lowest quoted price. Never use these people! They send salesmen to do pressure sales tactics and quote you ridiculous prices, relying on your ignorance to not realize how inflated their quotes are. They're hunting for suckers, and sadly I did not realize I was a sucker until it was too late. When the windows came in, they were pocket windows, which are a cheaper type of window that they just shove into your existing frame. Spouse and I had agreed just 20 minutes earlier we needed to get this done. Sam came out to the house in a quick 4 hours later. He gave a thorough, knowledgable rundown on what we had and how his company could help. His eagerness, courtesy and salesmanship had me at 99% on the sale. Fall down in finishing the deal is I needed to make the roofing decision there and then. I recently took over the affairs of my aging sister. In her unopened mail I found a contract from Green Star, and was worried that she had signed a contract to replace all her windows. I called Green Star, and they said they had decided she probably wasn't competent to sign the contract. Green Star had unilaterally cancelled it. While at the flower show, stopped by Green Star to inquire about installing a sun room enclosure. After several questions, they (without ever seeing my home) concluded I would also need a new roof and possibly new siding. I assured him those items were in good condition. He did not listen, but pushed to set up a meeting, applying pressure to sell the extra work. The wife and I walked away. It was a wise move. I contacted a company that specializes in enclosures. After a site survey, I did not need new sliding or roof. The savings were used to upgrade with e-glass, sun shades and a gas fireplace. Making it useable year-round. 1) Randy Ray representative was at our home for our five windows replacement projest. As their cost is higher then other company, still we like the quality and we finallise the project. They agree, that we can paid by our credit card, we confirmed with him, is company running our credit and he denied. After few days I got call from finance department saying, you do not have enough credit so, you have to pay 33 % of total project. They run my credit without asking me, that is not acceptable. 2) Kara Greensburg from finance depart ment, She have to charge $1079.00, she charged $10790.00 and I was on my vaction, and that much charge hold on my card for three days. 3) On the day they schedule installation, they called their truck broke, they are coming in afternoon slot, in the afternoon, they called, other job they were working, was not comleted, so they have to schedule again. I missed my day off. 4) When they came for installation,one of the window they come with wrong size, one of the window, they fixed without capping and one of the window they fix was smaller then my original window, like more then 6". And they cover that part with big capping and it's looks ugly. There is no..... Professionalisam They can not paly with someone credits and someone credit card. I got a door from Green Star and it was installed completely wrong, we repeatedly told them we wanted an outward opening door for the exterior. They said they would make like the one we have but the door they put up opens inwards and you have to open it to get in then close while inside to get to the unit door on the first floor or the door will block you from getting in. Also can't bring in any furniture because of this idiotic setup. When I called they said they never were told the door should open outwards after we told them repeatedly. This company does whatever they want and say whatever they can to get your business. Now the only way to fix the issue is to buy a new door or replace it with another from a different company. read more

They refused to let me shop around with competitors and demanded that we sign the contract immediately to "lock-in" the best price. I got an estimate for windows that pricing exceeded the competition. They then came down 3k but only if I agreed to contract then and there which I refused. I then got a phone call from this company inquiring on my decision which I told them I am going with another company. They asked the price of the competition and I told them. They then asked If I would agree to another visit just to "Measure again with no sales pitch" they would beat the competition (the company I hired been in business for 40years with 4 star ratings and A+ on BBB). I agreed to this set up day and time they were no call no show. Today I called just inquire because the whole "hey we will come down" found it shady. The company I hired was transparent the pricing reasonably and current market rate they did not play number games. I called today just to inquire first the receptionist told me "I see someone called you and you declined" when I challenged this she responded "Oh they follow up just for further estimates on more windows". Again reiterated "This appointment was to compete on pricing" miraculously she responded " Your appointment was at 12:30 Wensday". Excuse the grammar typing on a cell. My point? The business practice came off less then desirable. I hired honest business because this "We can match" just give the honest pricing of the windows. I would NOT recommend this company! They reached out to me after requesting roof replacement service, using Home Advisor. We scheduled a FREE estimate. During the appointment confirmation call, the salesperson told me the person coming out would bring credit app info. I told him that was fine but my insurance was covering the cost. After I tried to get off the phone a couple of times during the call, the salesperson proceeded to keep ask me to rate my credit on a scale of 1-5 (or something). I was taken aback!! Why would I need to rate my credit, if my insurance company was covering the cost?!? And if I wanted to apply for their credit, I'd decide at the time of the quote and submit the app then & see if approved, rather than tell some guy over the phone what I'd rate my credit! I told him it was inappropriate & offensive to ask about me for my credit (which btw is good)...when my initial request was simply for a FREE estimate. He kept saying "the credit questions were standard." Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment & they lost the option for a sale for an already approved, detached, single family home roof replacement. We worked with them through BJS the salesman was nice and promised that we would have as good if not better job done like our windows from BJS. That was sooo not true. We went with them because we were so pleased with our windows. We were wrong. They left a mess nails and old shingles in the driveway and garden. They moved all our stuff off the back porch and left it there. We told the salesman we needed pictures for our insurance company. He said no problem--- they left and NO pictures! I called to complain they said they would come back and take them. A guy showed up with no ladder and took shots (I could have done that) not at all what I expected. Andrew came out to our house to give us a quote for two Windows. I was impressed with the quality of the window and Andrew's knowledge of these windows along with the other competing manufacturers. The insulation and construction of the windows were better than our current windows shame we only need two windows. Had a great experience from start to finish replacing 8 of our windows. I wanted to wait at least year to write a review so that I could properly articulate our experience with Green Star. We reached out to Green Star after getting two quotes that greatly exceeded our budget. Our sales rep was knowledgeable, patient, and didn't pressure us to make a decision right away. We went with them because the price was fair and we knew people that also had great experiences. They communicated throughout the entire experience and the install was equally as smooth. A year later I can confidentially say the windows are working as well as the day we got them. 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night. A young man knocks on my door and asks me about my roof and siding. I always want to be gracious and allow them to give me their pitch because I am in sales as well and I understand the grind. He started giving me his spiel and I told him that we eventually need to get a new roof but we are not doing it any time soon so if he could leave info I would reach out when we start getting quotes. He told me "Sir, all we want to do is have someone come out, measure your roof and leave you a quote." A mixture of feeling bad for the kid and actually being interested in what ballpark the cost would be, I agreed. I knew I would be working from home the next day and figured they would take measurements and write up a price for me. Boy was I wrong. The next day in walks one of their sales reps and he wants to sit down with me and my wife and take about an hour to go over what Green Star has to offer. I told him I was in the middle of a work day and that my wife was about to take the baby for a walk. I explained to him that I was told that he was just taking measurements and "leaving me a quote". He angrily said "we don't do that, he shouldn't have said that". I should have just kicked him out right then and there and saved myself a the time and frustration, but we allowed him to give us a presentation which lasted an hour and a half. He trashed other companies and showed us their pricing which is a very unprofessional move, then finally left us a 30k quote for our roof after an hour and 22 minutes (trust me I was counting) No matter how trustworthy or reputable your company is, when you start out a working relationship with a lie and then make me feel like I am wrong, you have a 0% chance of earning my business. Sale Rep knocked on my door. Nice young man, went to the same college, he was polite and friendly so I decided to let them do an estimate. We chatted and I scheduled an estimate with him for the next day. He asked when my husband would be home so he could be there for the estimate. I explained that I worked from home and that catching us both home would be nearly impossible and that I would be making the decision on the roof anyway. I told him there was a chance he would be home but if not no big deal. The office called this morning to confirm the appt for 3:30 pm this afternoon and specifically asked if my husband would be home. I said probably not since he works about 65-70 hours a week and that it didn't matter anyway because I make all the decisions about the home (as I did when we built it 17 years ago). Then Dave abruptly said well then we will just cancel this out and hung up. I work in a law firm...I appreciate wanting all owners to sign off on a job contract before starting the work, but why does my husband need to be here to give an estimate and discuss the roof? A salesperson came to our door and knocked, at dinner time. He began his spiel, naming other (unknown) people in nearby neighborhoods who had allegedly either booked them for a quote or a job. It was not clear. This went on for about a minute. Since he did not say what his company did, which is a pretty basic piece of info, I asked. He said replacement windows, etc. I said I did not want the downstairs windows replaced, cause I was satisfied with them. He started pointing out their negative characteristics (clear glass) and wanted to know their age (can't he tell, approx?) I interrupted and said, I am only interested in replacing 3 upstairs windows. He again, wanted to know their age. I do not know the ages of my windows, but, heck, one look at them and he should know. He's the prof. I got angry at this pushiness and questions that I would think a professional window person would know the answers to by looking at them, and closed the door.
