I've been taking my ferrets there for 14 years. When I moved out of town, I'd stock up on medication when I was back in the Madison area. I haven't had any issues in 2 year until today when I was told yesterday my medication would be ready. When I got there, it wasn't and I was told they couldn't give it to me. I told them I had just lost one ferret after 9 years but I was still giving medication to another. I had even called a couple of months ago to talk about her condition and was told that there was nothing they could do and to just keep doing what I was doing. Without the medication, she will go into what is essentially a diabetic coma. I told them that they'd kill my ferret by refusing the medication. Instead of being compassionate that I had just lost my beloved furry baby, they started yelling at me and saying that they couldn't keep calling the vet about the medication because I was bothering them with their family. I had driven almost two hours because I was told the day before my medication would be ready. But I'm inconveniencing them?! I felt so unsafe with a woman yelling at me. Why would I bring my pet into a place that made me feel unsafe?! This is completely unprofessional, irresponsible, and unacceptable, as well as abusive and neglectful. read more

Dr. Stevenson is the only Veterinarian I trust to take care of my furbabies. I've had other vets here and they don't have nearly the personal care that Dr. Stevenson extends to our pets, who are family to us. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of knowledge you are receiving. Trust us, we've been to UW Veterinary Clinic countless of times, who boasts Board Certified Vets, and feel Dr. Stevenson has the equal amount of expertise, if not more due to the fact that he has awesome bedside manners. We've been to other vet clinics before coming here only to have to answer the same questions about the background of our dogs, their ailments repeatedly. Feeling like another number to most, Dr. Stevenson is the exception. He's sharp and remembers every treatment, procedure, and medication your pet has been on. Dr. Stevenson is also very honest. They would not let me speak to my vet re: end of life because said pet was overdue for vaccinations because they did not have availability because we are in a pandemic. They did not care about me or my pet and made me feel like I was trying to steal services. I have only ever taken my pets to their clinic. Now I will never return. read more

This is still the only veterinarian's office I go to! I trust the doctors to guide me in doing what's best for me and my dogs. I drive the 30 minutes at least once a year to get the best for my dogters (dog-daughters). The cost is very affordable and the service is excellent. Now that my pups are established patients I can email the staff with pictures and concerns that our doctor will review to let us know if we should come in. The lump turned out in the end to be cancer and because it had taken over his throat and he could no longer eat at all, we had to put him down. I wonder if, instead of just destroying his eardrums, someone had actually figured out that he had a growth in his throat, it might have been safely removed and he'd still be rubbing his head on my laptop while I type. We'll never know, because we were apparently dealing with less than competent people. read more

The Oregon Vet got my 1 year old cat in right away when I called in the morning. He had stepped or got caught in something outside and lost a nail on one paw and cut open the other. They took such good care of him within 30 minutes. Our three little children were so relieved to have him home right away. Overall a very positive experience. read more

OVC has always provided our family with exceptional veterinary care. Dr Rachel Orvick is experienced, provides excellent care and advice and is a superb diagnostician. We have never been seen by a vet at OVC who we weren't pleased with. Although we live in Middleton, the 20 minute drive to Oregon is well worth it. Not only do they provide great care and customer service, their prices are better than any other clinic in the area I have been to or inquired about. A dental cleaning at a nearby clinic starts at $600. A dental cleaning at OVC is less than half of that. A stool sample check at the nearby clinic is $40, while again, less than half of that at OVC. Wellness care is competitive or less expensive in price. When we had to put our dachshund down over a weekend, they recommended an in-home euthanasia vet who came to our home to put our beloved pup to sleep. I will never do it again any other way. Highly recommend. Call around to compare prices in the Madison area. OVC doesn't recommend services not truly needed and their fair pricing helps keep costs down. I do recommend pet insurance for major medical and accident coverage as care for such services can be in the thousands of dollars no matter which vet you choose. read more

We have been using OVC for several years for our various dogs. OVC is great. All the vets are wonderful to work with, the techs/assistants are great, receptionists are friendly, and the prices are more than fair. When we moved to Madison nearly 20 years ago we needed a vet and we are glad our neighbors recommended OVC after a frighteningly expensive experience at a different vet. read more

I have been coming to this clinic since the 1980's. In my opinion, there is no better. Dr. Stevenson is my vet and has proven to a first rate veterinarian. I cannot begin to say how satisfied I am with his diagnosis and treatment plans. He has a wonderful bedside manner and remembers every detail. Often times he will recommend an over the counter medication that does as good job as a prescription to save you money. Not many vets do that. He is my main vet, but honestly, this clinic is one of the rare clinics that any vet you choose is a good choice! I trust them completely with my pets and they are VERY reasonable in price. I wish I would have listened to everyone when they told me to go here to begin with. However I needed to get my dog in for a rabies check, they were able to squeeze me in that day! Dr Stevenson was great with my dog, I could tell that he cared! Unfortunately we are finding out that my dog has problems with men so when I was there last night I requested a female vet just to be safe. I didn't want to bring him in to the clinic wanted all to be safe. Dr Alli Uphill was great! She came out to my car to assess the situation and gave me some great advice!
