To reduce stress and get back together sooner we try to kennel the dogs not far from where we are staying- so we tried Old Stone Pet Lodge after combing thru many options found on Yelp. Our 3 beagles came home happy. So something's being done right by the staff. Usually they are panting for the first hour after leaving a kennel. Not after their stay at the Old Stone Pet Lodge. They were calm and relaxed, happy to see us but not that desperate sound of being happy to get away. When we picked them up- we got to watch them play on the snow hill from the camera in the lobby area. They looked happy. The staff is SO friendly and the dogs didn't have that "kennel smell" that they typically have at other kennels. We will definitely be back if ever in the area again. Left my dog, Kevin there for a long weekend for the first time and he came back tired and very happy. I don't think he really even wanted to leave! They were very organized and really cared about all the pets. Would definitely go back and trust them to watch Kevin when I can't. Very reasonably priced for all the services offered for the pups. Play time outside with other furry friends and one long walk each day. I particularly like that their rooms for the dogs are individual with some outdoor space and not cages in a row. Old Stone Pet Lodge is probably the best place to take your dog for daycare or boarding in the Madison area! Our dogs look forward to every time they get to go to Old Stone, and honestly if we game them a choice to come home or stay and play, I think they might just choose the later. They have helped us out when life events occurred and we needed someone to watch both dogs with short notice and have helped calm down two puppies that bounce off the walls. If you live downtown or the west side, it is definitely worth the drive to have your dogs stay here, where it is clear that the owners truly care about their pet and human clientele! read more

Bring your dog to these people. It is very clean and appears to be relatively new, but you can find that in most kennels. The PEOPLE here are what makes the difference. We rely on Old Stone whenever we leave town- 4 or 5 times a year. The staff members treat us like we were weekly regulars, they remember details about the dogs and are wonderfully fast and efficient. Wrap your mind around this: when we dropped on Friday the woman in charge confirmed one detail on a medication, grabbed the leashes and wished us a happy weekend. Total time spent was perhaps 120 seconds. I can't get a cheeseburger that fast. It is so rewarding to work with buttoned up, efficient professionals. And their rates are perfectly reasonable, unlike some other local options. Again- bring your dog here. read more

This is the only boarding kennel I trust for my dog. We found this place earlier this summer, after a bad experience with Rover (read: my dog escaped from the sitter, and was lost), so security and safety is our number one priority! I called Old Stone to see if we could get a tour of the place, and Ron was extremely accommodating and friendly, immediately putting us at ease. The facility is extremely clean, well maintained and SECURE. There are at least 3 doors that a dog would have to go through in order to make it outside, and the outdoor play area is reinforced with a fence that is not only tall, but also goes underground too. Our dog is extremely reserved with people, but after about two or three daycare trips, she started walking in with the employees without looking back at us! One time we picked her up, we saw her outside playing with other dogs, and we saw one of the employees pick her up with ease (remember, she is very shy with people!).We were impressed, as it really seemed like the employees understood her personality, and gained her trust in a relatively short period of time. Overall, I highly, highly recommend this place. It is a little further from Madison, but it is absolutely worth the drive, knowing they really do care about your fur babies, and will treat them with utmost care. read more

Definitely recommend Old Stone Pet Lodge to anyone looking for a fantastic place to make sure your pets are taken care of while you are away. We have a cat and a dog and both seem to be slightly irritated to see us when we arrive to bring them home! Our cat, which up until his first stay here never got along with other cats, loves the room he is in and being able to socialize with other cats. On our way to Old Stone, once our dog recognizes our route, immediately gets excited and barely looks back at us when we arrive and they take her back to the other dogs. Ron and Bobbie are incredibly nice and clearly love what they do - making sure your pets will be happy and well taken care of during their visit. The prices are also very reasonable! I only have good comments for this wonderful place! I had to leave my dogs for a long stay while visiting my family abroad and was recommended this place from a friend. People there love dogs as much as we do. They took care of them as well as we do with extra. They adjust their life as they learned how the dogs are. My dogs were happy and when I got them back I can see they had a good time. They even had a good bath it is always stressful to leave dogs but I will without any hesitation use this place again. We have used Old Stone exclusively for our dogs for wow! 11 yrs! Ron and his staff are incredibly professional, but are still warm and engaging. We know how much the dogs like being there, because when we walk in, we can just literally drop the leases and the boys go behind the counter to greet Ron! Ron and his staff get to know each doggo and their traits. When our 13 yr old pittie passed away, one of the hardest things was telling Ron we only needed 1 run. Haven't had our dogs here for nearly a year, since we moved out of the area. We were visiting the area to work on our house, and needed to board the dogs, so I was super excited they could go back to Old Stone Pet Lodge. And Old Stone Pet Lodge reminded me why I loved them as a kennel. Had to come get one dog for a vet appt, and he had been swimming that morning, which makes him happy as a clam. Same thing when I picked them up this morning. Bobbi apologized profusely and offered me a towel for the car, but when you own a couple of labs, it's normal to have a wet dog in the car so I didn't mind. Glad the dogs get to do their favorite things when there. And once again, I was shocked at how cheap it was for boarding three dogs for three nights. I had to have her recheck the bill! read more

This place is fantastic! My dogs are excited to get here every time we drop them off for a weekend, or for a day of daycare. The owner, Ron, is great, knows animals, and doesn't nickel-and-dime his customers like many, many other kennels. He's willing to work with my shy dog, as well as older dogs. If he knows an older dog with bad hips is coming in, he'll be sure rubber mats are down in the kennel and in the hall, and that the older dog has a room close to the door to outside. My dogs were only here once before he knew them by first name only. My dogs come home without being stressed out, which isn't always the case, especially with a shy one. I trust Old Stone completely to take care of them when we're away and would definitely (and have) recommended to others. read more

We were looking for a kennel for our chocolate lab, Kona, and grandpup, rat terrier, Madison. Kona would be fine anywhere, but Madison is a rescue and scared of everything. I'm really glad I found Old Stone Pet Lodge. It's not a crazy spa, but it's a clean, well run kennel, with lots of "extras" if you want them. We had the two of them stay in a "suite" together. When I picked up the pups, they told me all about how the two dogs reacted, and I could tell they had nailed Madison's quirks. They understood her and loved her. I highly recommend them. read more
