Our 3 beagles came home happy. So something's being done right by the staff. Usually they are panting for the first hour after leaving a kennel. Not after their stay at the Old Stone Pet Lodge. They were calm and relaxed, happy to see us but not that desperate sound of being happy to get away. When we picked them up- we got to watch them play on the snow hill from the camera in the lobby area. They looked happy. The staff is SO friendly and the dogs didn't have that "kennel smell" that they typically have at other kennels. We will definitely be back if ever in the area again. Kind, Ethical, Responsible Team I have had two dogs prior to…read morethis one and have taken them to several other reputable training organizations. This is the only one that bothered to find out about my specific goals for my dog and the only one that bothered to get to know my dog. I think everyone in the place came out to meet her and watch her at her first training. I had the usual reservations about using an e-collar on my dog (is it inhumane? Is it punishment? Would her personality change?) Andrew carefully demonstrated the collar to me and when we used it on my dog she did not indicate that she was in any distress. She learned quickly and seemed very proud of her accomplishments. At home, even without the collar she continues to do the things she learned in her only lesson. Two days after her first training, she was diagnosed with Heartworm. Because she must be kept still throughout the long treatment she cannot attend training, go to dog parks, doggy day care or even run. Sit Means Sit refunded my money, did not charge me for the lesson, offered advice on how to keep her still, and offered to continue to help when I needed it. I am forever grateful. When my dog is better (cross your fingers) I plan to bring her back. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike and his team for any dog issue whether it is a serious problem dog or a dog like mine who is a little timid, wants to kiss every child she sees and just needs a few skills to reinforce safe behaviors.

She told me she would send the refund but so far I have gotten nothing back. The last response I got back In a text was that someone else was working on the refund. This whole experience was terrible and I would not suggest using her or trusting her.

She returned the dog with the same behavioral issues, Missy only provided a very superficial 15-minute follow-up (fast-paced) when she dropped my pup assuming that somehow I knew how to follow up with the so-called training. Promised training notes but never followed up on them. When I questioned the training she got upset and offended (I guess is easy to be offended when you pocket $960 and the dog shows no progress). I am an elderly woman with mobility problems and took the money from my retirement account to get help to train the pup. Her suggestion was to keep the dog on a leash inside and outside the house and put him in the kennel when he misbehaved because he needed to earn his freedom. And that cost me $960? This looks like a scam to me. In my case, Missy is a disappointment. I know she blames me for my pup's behavior but that is why I hired her, to help me to train me and my dog. And she has more than 40 years of experience? Unbelievable.
