Our 3 beagles came home happy. So something's being done right by the staff. Usually they are panting for the first hour after leaving a kennel. Not after their stay at the Old Stone Pet Lodge. They were calm and relaxed, happy to see us but not that desperate sound of being happy to get away. When we picked them up- we got to watch them play on the snow hill from the camera in the lobby area. They looked happy. The staff is SO friendly and the dogs didn't have that "kennel smell" that they typically have at other kennels. We will definitely be back if ever in the area again. I haven't had any issues in 2 year until today when I was told yesterday my medication would be ready. When I got there, it wasn't and I was told they couldn't give it to me. I told them I had just lost one ferret after 9 years but I was still giving medication to another. I had even called a couple of months ago to talk about her condition and was told that there was nothing they could do and to just keep doing what I was doing. Without the medication, she will go into what is essentially a diabetic coma. I told them that they'd kill my ferret by refusing the medication. Instead of being compassionate that I had just lost my beloved furry baby, they started yelling at me and saying that they couldn't keep calling the vet about the medication because I was bothering them with their family. I had driven almost two hours because I was told the day before my medication would be ready. But I'm inconveniencing them?! I felt so unsafe with a woman yelling at me. Why would I bring my pet into a place that made me feel unsafe?! This is completely unprofessional, irresponsible, and unacceptable, as well as abusive and neglectful.

Keep in mind, this store is small, not a warehouse. They do keep necessities in stock. It's a small business not a large corporation. Some of these reviews have some disconnect with reality. I don't know how this is not rated five stars, it makes me disappointed in humans, for sure. Any animal person wouldn't rate it less than 5.
