Our dog was a patient at Pineview Animal Hospital for over 12 years. Recently, she experienced a…read moresudden and severe neurological decline and became completely unable to walk. Given her age and a probable brain stem tumor diagnosis, I contacted the hospital specifically requesting to speak directly with her veterinarian to discuss what was happening and to problem-solve next steps, including prognosis and quality-of-life considerations. I was unable to speak with a veterinarian. After multiple calls and detailed explanations to reception staff, the only guidance relayed to me was to take her to the emergency room, with no further discussion, reassessment, or quality-of-life conversation. When I asked why, I was told the practice was "a clinic, not a hospital," which was confusing given the hospital designation and our long-standing relationship. Because I could not have a direct conversation with the veterinarian, we sought a second opinion. Under the new veterinarian's care, our dog's diagnosis and medications were completely reassessed and contradicted, and she has shown significant improvement in a very short period of time. We were very close to making an irreversible end-of-life decision based on indirect communication and limited engagement. For a senior dog in acute crisis and a family seeking guidance, we expected more thoughtful involvement and direct communication. I hope the practice reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future.

Do not take your beloved pet here…read more Our family had a wonderful experience for 12 years with our first dog under the ownership of Dr. Laura Meffert and Dr. Julie James. Based on this wonderful past experience we brought our newest furry family member to Pineview. However our recent experiences have left us infuriated at the treatment of our dog and do NOT recommend brining your pets to them. Under the new management (a corporation called Mission Veterinary Partners), the practice no longer allows you to sit in during the appointment with your dog. Which has led to 2 major concerns as we have not been able to observe what is actually being done during the visit. First concern, after having another dentist look over our dogs teeth he was shocked at what he saw had been missed--he explained that it should have been caught at our dogs 6 month appointment. What was missed will lead to periodontal disease and therefore will require expensive work as our dog is now over a year old. Second concern is that not once, but 3 times our dog became incredibly ill after spending the night at the kennel. Each time we have followed up we have received vague and unhelpful answers as to what could have happened during their stay. Most recently andobject appeared in our dogs stool despite having given clear instructions that nothing should be left in their kennel. This led to a visit to the emergency room. A third minor annoyance was to learn that despite being told and paying for our dogs nails to be trimmed, they were in fact not as was pointed out by the trainer we went to shortly after the appointment at Pineview. After reaching out to management first and receiving no acknowledgment of wrongdoing we have decided to take our dog somewhere we can trust. And based on these experiences feel strongly to leave this review.

For daycare, my puppy and I are welcomed with a big smile and a big hello to us both. When he is picked up, the staff tells us who he played with and how he did. They even are helping us train him to get comfortable in a kennel. During his boarding stay the staff went above and beyond to say the least. They gave him extra love when he would get nervous- they even put him in a thunder jacket to calm his worries. Amazing. We are so thankful. They took Christmas photos of him after a complementary bath which were adorable! They communicated so well (and fast) so that we were at ease being far away. I recommend Prairie Pawz to everyone and will continue to do so! Thanks Prairie Pawz for taking such good care of my baby!

Upon pickup the staff wasn't friendly and never had been at pickup or drop off. I ask several times how things went and typical response is oh you didn't get a call so everything was well. The receptionist are young, inexperienced and typically don't have any answers to questions about your pet. We have never been offered a tour and offered a bath after a weekend. When my boy blu came out today at pickup he was timid, scared, full of dried pee, face down, not excited and depressed. Upon arriving at home he has been acting strangely and not the upbeat dog that we are accustomed too. I honestly believe that your pup sits in a kennel more often then not. I'm more upset because he was covered in dried urine so I assumed he's kennel wasn't cleaned. He looked terrible and don't understand why. As a facility that is ran by vets it sure needs improvement. They have been under construction and the lobby looks cold, dark and quiet. I've asked several times how many dogs are here today and usually about 10. I believe you need to visit them and see what you can improve. You're not giving or being with the pets like they are. I have a feeling they go out for a small period of time and kenneled the rest. I feel like pets are treated not the way they should be. Blu's nose was all red and nails all beat up so that indicates he's in his kennel way too long. Your competitors have warm and friendly almost home rooms to sleep. If you had this your dog wouldn't be covered in dry pee. Couple things to help improve: 1.Act like the front staff knows and cares about your pet 2. Offer a bath after boarding for more then a couple days 3. Offer a tour to new clients especially the first day of drop off. It takes a few minutes 4. Train tour front desk to be friendly because it seems like things are always an inconvenience 5. Visit your local competition. There is a reason why you have such a big place and not many dogs per day 6. Train your staff on upgrades asking for a bath nails etc. 7. Remove asking for a tip on your credit card machine because at this point I don't know why anyone would tip. 8. Introduce a vet to your clients. 9. Spend more time with the pets instead of keeping them in a kennel for most of their time. 10. Make some immediate changes because your business won't survive if this how your business is ran. There is several reviews similar to mine so I can't imagine we aren't all saying the truth. We have 2 more days left to return and would rather forego the money and go elsewhere. I also emailed in to your only email so maybe I'll get a response. I'm so sad for our boy right now. I would highly recommend any new client to pay attention to your pet and consider going elsewhere because there is much better places for the same price. I hope you can use my review to improve. Even though your under construction 2 months in it really turned us off as well. I won't be returning to your facility for anything in the future. I've called over 20 times today on 05/16 and they won't even answer their phone. It's very sad. Update: The manager has called me several days in a row to check in on blu. In the mean time there is one current and former client that have reached out to me. The current client says that their dog pees in the house often and is most likely being in a kennel. The previous client indicates they don't come back because their dog has been traumatized as well. I'm not the only client that has indicated concerns to this daycare. I also contacted the owner of the daycare in PA twice and left messages and email and not one return phone call. The experiences at this dog daycare are traumatizing to pets. Also, the company has the tenacity to call other businesses about my review. This is a low blow to me personally as that is unfair business practices. Look at yourself and see how you can improve your business. All clients go elsewhere.

I run a group who did a raffle and they donated a very generous basket that was a HIT. The employees were kind and I enjoyed chatting with them while I browsed. I ended up buying a salmon treat for my dog. The variety of their store was awesome. Similar to others in the area, but loved to find my dog's favorites. We got a salmon skin roll which she devoured in a minute tops. Apart from this, I've heard great things about their grooming. My best friend uses them for grooming and her poms love it. A great little shop and close to home. You can't beat it!

We were referred to Canine Corner from some super happy pet owners that go to the Sun Prairie location. I'm thrilled I called as we caught them when they first opened and I was able to bring my boy in that same week. The staff were super friendly on the phone, but I was even happier in person. When you walk in Canine Corner there is a short picket fence as your gate so your pet cannot go running into another pet or staff member with a razor or scissors. Paperwork is painless, they verify immunizations for safety and greet your pet as if he was theirs. My boy has terrible separation anxiety and barks if left alone. The staff accommodated him so he felt comfortable and no longer barked or scared the other dogs. I've been to other groomers that ignore the dogs that aren't being tended to. Definitely not the case here. The dogs being trimmed when I picked up were being talked to and cared for. I appreciate seeing employees that actually like what they do and they did a great job at an affordable rate.
