Our dog has been kenneled a few times at FRK. The first couple times were okay- okay enough that we continued to take her back. Last spring break we kenneled our boxer for 8 days at FRK. When I picked her up she could hardly move, she was so stiff. The staff sent us home with a collar that was not hers (wrong dog's name on it!) & leash. I called FRK to notify them of this, as well as the terrible care she received while there. No apology or discussion- they sent a (young, appeared to be teenager) staff member to our home (very quickly) to swap out the collar & leash. Likely so the next family wouldn't realize the mixup as well. Our dog couldn't get up onto the couch for weeks after her stay at FRK from being stiff & sore. We also paid for additional daily walks & playtime for her. She had urinary incontinence for weeks following her stay, which she never had previously. The thought of how much our pup was neglected & likely stuck in the cement floor kennel (even tho we sent her bed- was it even used?) for way too many hours on end over those 8 days, is heartbreaking. It has taken me this long to write the review as it's difficult for me to think about to this day. I don't want any other family to experience what we experienced at FRK. Our boxer went to FRK healthy & still, is not the same. I have vowed to NEVER kennel my dog again after this experience. DO NOT take your beloved pet to FRK. read more

I took my dog for grooming when I arrived I waited 10 minutes in the lobby while there was no one around. I gave specific instructions on how I would like grooming when I picked my dog up she looked horrible. Ears were shaved down to the skin legs and feet were not trimmed, nails not trimmed. I said do I need to pay the full price since she was not completely groomed and groomed incorrectly and they very rudely told me I needed to pay full price because it was a package deal. I would never and will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our dog is a kind and gentle dog who has never showed his teeth or growled in anger. He is sweet but disobedient when coming when called which they knew ahead of time. While he was boarded we got a call saying that he bit a staff member. The circumstances didn't really make sense but had to do with him not coming inside when called. He was cornered in a hallway when it happened. We are assuming that he was yelled at or intimidated in a mean way. The person who called said it was partially her fault because she had him cornered and he was scared. When we picked him up a day later at 9:00am he was covered in dried poop. They said they just noticed it when they went to get him to bring him out to me. They also said it was because he had diarrhea. But then why were his entire long tail and back legs covered in it? Was he laying in it? There are too many dogs and not enough staff to properly take care of them. read more

We took our two yorkies and lab there Friday - Sunday. Our other kennel was booked, so we were accommodated quickly and happy to have found a place. When we arrived, they told us they weren't as packed as they only had close to 80 dogs, whereas for the 4th of July they had close to 100! How can they even attend to that many animals!? When we picked them up Sunday and the yorkies' bed was covered in poop and pee. They NEVER do anything like this at home; especially go to the bathroom where they sleep. We didn't realize this until we got home and uncovered the mess and embarrassment from them as we discovered it. One of our yorkies was vomiting all night Sunday night and this led to vomiting blood around 4pm and a vet bill of $100 to see what was wrong. They said they could do x-rays, leading to a few hundred dollars or we could wait it out and see if he were to continue to vomit. His vet gave him fluids, due to his dehydration. And all of this was followed by diarrhea for now 3 days with Boone. Today I came home to Boone being in his kennel, still having diarrhea, but now the other two are just as sick and I cleaned up diarrhea for almost 3 hours; which led to renting a Rug Doctor for our carpet areas totaling over $70.00! I just cried, after cleaning up vomit and diarrhea of one dog and now I'm dealing with THREE! I would never take our dogs there again. They are like children to us, but also love to run outside and play outside. I just don't feel like they had any attention or were let out; but just caged for the weekend and expected to go out on their cement pad. I guess shame on me for now realizing you can't ever do a basic package or attention will not be given for 3 days! read more

I am very particular regarding to whom I entrust the care of my dog. I was recently in need of finding a place for my beloved 9 year old doggy to spend a night due to an unexpected trip that I needed to take. In his 9 years, I have never had to board him anywhere, so I was very nervous about boarding him at a kennel. After calling and touring several kennels in the area on short notice, I was more than impressed with the facilities and the staff at Forest Ridge. From the time I dropped him off to the time I picked him up, my beloved doggy was one very happy doggy. This place is horrible for cat boarding. I was very optimistic when I took my little guy here for a three day stay and was terribly disappointed from the start. The cats are kept in an upstairs room above the grooming area. The room is pretty small and filthy, it also reeked of cat urine when we walked in. The cats are all kept in individual small cages with their litter boxes (which I am assuming with the smell are very infrequently changed) and one thin blanket. I am not sure what I was expecting but after having used one other area boarding facility where my cat had a full huge space to himself I was extremely uncomfortable leaving my cat there but had plans that could not be altered. I will never bring him here again and would not recommend that anyone else would either. read more

Our rottweiler is very excited to when we pull in to the lot! We have been very happy with the care that our current dog has received, as well as our past two. Our dog had to visit the emergency vet while we were out of state during his most recent stay, due to a previous issue, and staff was very concerned and mindful of getting him care. They visited him, sent me pictures, and followed up several times. We are confident in the attention our pet receives while we are away. read more

I was a loyal customer for many years. I might have given 4 to 5 stars in the past, but based on my last two experiences, I am now an ex customer. Thats a shame for them because I have three weeks of vacation scheduled this year.Not once but twice in one week my dog stayed there for less than 24 hour yet both times I was charged for two days. They tried to explain their math but I still cant comprehend how anyone can charge two days for less than a 24 hour stay. Hope it was worth it to them. My dog is two. Im guessing thats about ten years of business they wont get. read more

We used Forest Ridge for our older dog and enjoyed the fact she could go on "nature" walks. Recently our 1.5 year old terrier/beagle mix spent Christmas vacation there. The staff was nice when we called to check in on her ("She's out playing with the other dogs. She's eating and sleeping fine.) Because she was there for an extended stay, she got a bath so we came home to a sweet-smelling, albeit exhausted, pup. Their nearby location is a bonus for us too. read more

I have been taking my dog to Forest Ridge Kennel for five years and couldn't be happier. The people there are friendly and you can tell they love working with animals. Every time I bring my dog in, they recognize him and say hi. My dog always comes home happy and healthy. I couldn't think of a better location, either, being in the middle of a forest with all the great smells for dogs that come with it! read more

Nice, clean facility. You can take a tour at anytime, so you know they always keep it sanitary for your pets. The staff really know about each pet in their care, and will often tell you funny stories of things your pet has done during their stay. The extras they offer are really nice, like nature walks for your dogs. Plus, they usually have room, even for last minute trips.The hours could be better, since it's difficult for us to drop off our pet between 9-5:30. Something earlier, like 7 would definitely make this a 5 star facility. read more
