Told duct tape caused damage.Suggested a cleaner for lens&was told that would scratch.Thats what you are worried about, scratching the lens?

BEWARE!  First Richard is the owner of this store for the last 2 years, but told me on several occasions that the owner was Bob and he would have to talk to Bob to get approvals.  I rented 10 paintball kits for a birthday party where close friends and family attended.  I picked up the kits and had to ask how to use them, the owner did not offer to give a demonstration. We were given a broken blue bin full of what I assumed were 10 paintball kits and a crate of 10 CO2 tanks. At no point was I given an inventory to sign off on, offered insurance per the rental agreement (which I received a copy of the day I returned the equipment), or shown that all tanks were filed.  When we went to play the game, 2 masks were not included, 1 mask was broken (no bottom strap, no visor, and strap had to be tied to stay on, see picture attached), 1 tank was empty, and 1 tank was not presurized when attached to a gun.  When returning the equipment I was then told there are NO refunds under any circumstances for rentals.  Richard then explained that there was a canister that was damaged and that more than likely someone took the masks.  All I asked for was a $50 refund as 2 of the kits could not be used.  After I returned the kits and he inspected them;  9 masks were returned (my son's airsoft mask accidently got put back with the rentals), 2 of the canisters were damaged, and where I had placed duct tape on the lense of a mask, the lense apparently needed to be replaced due to the residue (this mask should have been retired many games ago).  He did agree that I could come in for the refund and claim my sons mask, but I would then owe him $156.99 (for 2 masks, a lense and 2 damaged canisters), or we can just part ways and I can find somewhere else to rent from.  We may have rented from him again, referred friends and family, possibly even purchased new equipment because overall it was a fun sport, but I will do everything to make sure people know the type of business he runs!  He stated that I am turning this into his fault to get a discount, horrible customer service to blame the customer.  All I was requesting was the 2 rentals that were unusable to be refunded, I certainly have no use for used helmets and would gladly give them back if they had been included. Wish we could leave zero stars.

    Initial review and business response.

Purchased about $500 in products (accurate). I purchased a pump and some other items (carbon 68/45 tank included) to hold me off while the mini GS became availability at the shop (I would rather support a small shop than Amazon). Came back the next day to order a mini GS from the shop. I explained that Amazon would sell a kit (including tank and loader) for a killer price and was hoping the shop could maybe not match the price, but split the difference between their price and Amazon's.. maybe something closer to the retail price. They refused and accused me of "blackmail" for saying if they couldn't match price to just accept a return of the tank I purchased less than 24hrs prior and hadn't even taken out of the plastic wrap. The employee even told me earlier in the day that I could return the tank but after showing up that evening with tank in hand they were not going to work with me. Before leaving I asked that the owner give me a call (so he wasn't getting a one sided story and could stay informed). Never got that call... but you better believe he will try and do damage control on Yelp after countless poor reviews start showing up. Maybe consider its not angry peoples fault and take some responsibility for poor customer skills.

Yikes. Came here to buy some Oregon Ducks gear and a Blazer hoodie I saw someone wearing at the game. Two specific items, and 10 minutes wondering aimlessly to find the items or an employee to help me. They do have a huge assortment of clothing, and in every color of the rainbow, not just basic black. I appreciate that. But I'm not a fan of bigger is better, and prefer shopping at smaller Dick's locations like the one in Lake Oswego. so much easier to find what you need, and get in and out of the store quickly.

His professionalism, kindness, and genuine customer care really stood out. Great service is rare these days, and I'm glad I found it at Dick's Sporting Goods. There was another individual who helped me at the register that was helpful as well. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. I thank both of them for their efforts. P.S I first went to REI and Cascade cycling or something and had a sub par experience and left those stores. That was for you Hyoung, get it?

Genuinely strange vibe here. Yesterday I was in looking for a sleeping bag and a few other items…read more One of the employees, who I imagine was a shift lead, had a child running around the store. Clearly just not a great environment for him and who knows how long he had been there that day, he was very loud and chaotic and just being a kid. I kept hearing the staff member who was the kids caretaker harshly reprimanding him, borderline yelling. I get it's stressful to have to bring a child to work with you but it's not his fault. There were like no customers in the store and it was pretty quiet in there so hearing him being a crazy kid & then this woman loudly reprimanding him was very hard to ignore. I looked at bags for a really long time, and no one offered to help. Many of the hanging bags were missing identifying tags, so I was going back and forth trying to match the samples to the shelved bags for sale. Eventually I pick one, buy it and leave. I go home, open it up and it's just not what I had expected. It was huge, and very heavy. Today I brought it back for a return and had no problem. I went back to the sleeping bags to reassess what was available and that same woman who was yelling at the kid the day before, (who was not the employee to process my return) likely didn't realize I was the person who brought in the return and with a very nasty and annoyed tone she said something about how the sleeping bag policy she be like the air mattress policy - which is that they won't let you return it if you opened it. Her energy was terrible two days in a row, just totally drab and on edge. I maybe would have stuck around and kept looking at other sleeping bag options, probably would have bought a new one if someone stopped leaning on a counter talking shit about other employees to ask if I needed assistance, but instead I left. I didn't want to hear her drone on about how annoying everything is, customers/policies/coworkers alike (major projection) The pink haired woman needs training on customer service Big 5 has an opportunity to get some new regulars with the closing of next adventure - which had inherited many regulars from the outdoor store when that closed a few years back. It would be wise to have employees who are passionate about outdoor gear and the experiences customers have with the gear and in their stores, because that's what keeps people shopping. Reliable return policies are how you get customers to try things out and find what works for them. You retain those customers by showing some effort, curiosity and really helping them. That's how you sell products. Guess I'll be going to REI.

4/30/22 @ 10:32am Store 00233…read more Just came back from Big Dirty 5 No customer service sporting goods!! Wow where to start. Well store opened at 9am my husband and I were literally second customers of the day!! First customer was greeted by Jacob "store manager". We walked in and no greeting seemed like he forgot how to speak or was shocked by our high vibration. First thing I noticed is HOW DIRTY THIS PLACE IS!!!!!! Stuff unorganized and on the floor boxes are opened. Trash everywhere I mean everywhere like they had no vacuum cleaner so they said F it. I got some items asked if I can try them on the girl that was working with the manager was also rude didn't ask if we need help I had to go up to both of them while they were chatting away. I asked to try on the items I found. As she opens the door to the fitting room I was literally like WTF!! Fitting room looked like musicians crashed a hotel see posted photos. Mirror was grimey as heck something broken on the ground a piece of wood idk. Litter on the floor. That whole store was just ewwwwww... as a former manager of retail stores I would never have a store like that or let my employees walk around not doing anything they had so much things they could've been doing. There store needs to get checked up on by DM or a RM. They also should be trained on customer service, attentiveness, knowing products. Will not be coming back to THIS location again!!!!
