Love this gym, been a member for more than a few years- however, this review is for my personal…read moretrainer who deserves 6 stars or more. I live with chronic back pain and a year ago a friend told me to book an appointment with Aksana. Nothing else (I've tried it all) helped much so I went ahead with an initial training appointment and it changed EVERYTHING! i could barley walk normally when we first started and 3 appointments later I could move more freely and when my pain got bad it only took hours instead of days to reset. A year, and 14-15 appointments it has set the physical clock back years! Aksana has been a literal life saver for me and I am forever grateful!

After being a member for several months, I am dropping my star rating to a 3. One of the reasons…read morethat I was looking forward to this club was that I could work from here and then get a workout in. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is so spotty, down more often than not, that I can't imagine being able to do any kind of work from the club. This also makes it challenging to use any kind of app which requires Wi-Fi in order to track your progress when you're lifting. The second reason I dropped my star rating was because there are a number of machines, for example the large cable machine in the main workout area, that are missing most of their weight stickers. Unless you are familiar with the weight progression of that specific machine, you are guessing at what weight you are actually lifting. Final issue, the attachments for the cable machine over in the room which has the Astroturf are very worn. A few are missing the rings to even connect and people have tied knots into the strap in order to make it work. These may seem minor but for the price you pay for a membership plus the sign-up fee, I would expect these little things to be easily taken care of.

We recently joined Stafford Hills Club after touring four other gyms including the new Lake Oswego…read moreaquatic center which did not impress me but it was nice. After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

I have been a member for about 6 months and really have enjoyed my time. Pros: -Women's locker room doesn't feel super dated. That was honestly a big reason I went with this gym, it was one of the few with a sauna/steam room that weren't disgusting. -Equipment/facility is generally in good condition and clearly proper upkeep is done. -Staff is kind and instructors seem to really care. Special shout out to Genevieve and Janet! -Yoga/pilates room is new and beautiful -This is a bit of a silly one but I love the room that used to be for bikes is now available for those who want a quieter space to work out if the other room has a class going on. Cons: -The class options for before/after normal work hours are incredibly limited. I am more of a class person and have been consistently disappointed with how few options there are. Generally, I think the gym caters to retirees/those who don't work a traditional 9-5 schedule. -Gym area is rather small. This definitely is more of a tennis club and the footprint of the area with fitness equipment is small in comparison to other gyms in the area. I have never had too much trouble waiting for equipment but when it's busy, it can feel cramped.

This gym…read moreis less busy than other gyms I've been a part of in the past and the different variety of machines is great. It has a pool and hot tub as well as racquetball courts upstairs if you're into that. Overall, for the price you pay per month, this gym is a great option for most everyone.

Best LA Fitness in the Portland and surrounding area. My regular location is The Pearl, and prior…read moreto that, Lloyd Center, so maybe it's a low bar! But seriously, this gym is so much cleaner, including the pool, showers and locker rooms. It's a much newer physicality and in a building they built, so it should be better. Came here when The Pearl pool was closed for repairs and I was really impressed. Loved the pool! It seems to be 25 meters whereas The Pearl is 25 yards, and it makes a difference. Lots of natural light coming in from the huge windows, which I love when I'm swimming. And it's not as crowded. I had the lane to myself for an hour while others came, swam, and left, sharing the other lanes. My only complain is the steps going into the pool are quite high. I'm currently using a cane as I'm dealing with hip issues, and it was challenging for me to take that first step in, and then to take that last step out. The other locations have half steps leading into the pool making it easier, and safer, for those who are handicapped or dealing with injuries to access the pool. The locker room is much larger, has several areas where you can sit on a bench and be out of the way So everyone is. It in top of each other. The showers were so much cleaner! And there is plenty of room on the counter for your stuff while you dry your hair and get ready afterwards. It took me about 20 minutes to get there, with no traffic, so it won't be my everyday gym since The Pearl is just 10 minutes away. But I'll definitely use this pool on days I have appointments out in Tualatin, which is often, or when I have extra time and want to enjoy a better swim.

I had fun but I would love to see some change at this rink…read more I grew up very spoiled by the ice rink that was in my small town in Wyoming. It was seasonal but it was free to skate there because of local donors. There were always multiple staff who skated around the rink to make sure everyone was safe and guided people around those who had fallen or were creating unsafe situations for all the skaters. The figure skaters only practiced in the middle of the rink that had cones around it to prevent any public members from confusion and entering that space. You were asked to follow the direction of the skating and not go against the flow. There was a mandatory break halfway to clear the ice. This rink is a far cry from that. Skating is honestly a hazard here! I had to check in mid skate to see if I was still in public skate because there were so many figure skaters on the rink doing whatever they wanted. Skating wrong ways, blocking the path, zig zagging between skaters, all the things figure skaters do.I had a few almost run ins myself. I don't understand why public skate can't be a fun time to skate around and around without worrying if you're going to have a head on collision with the figure skater. I felt really frustrated because this wasn't the first time that I've come here and had this happen. Can there be a designated time for the figure skaters to practice? I get it.. share the ice but when it's a literal free for all it's hard to predict where to skate and stay safe. I'm familiar with how to stop safely but for newbies this is really unsafe. I want to take my nephews here but is there a time when it's truly a public skate?

The facility is well set up with great amenities, including large locker rooms, a nice beer garden, and a convenient snack shop. It's a true hub for ice sports, hosting adult and kids league hockey and figure skating, plus open skating sessions with both skate and skating helper rentals available. The vibe here is definitely improving, and I'm really looking forward to the upstairs bar and restaurant that is reportedly coming soon! A cool, reliable spot for everything ice-related.
