It saddens me to write a negative review of this place because it is a nice store with some cool stuff, and usually reasonably freindly people, but my recent experience was so annoying I had to make a note. I purchased a soft rifle case, and before I even got it into my house, a clearly defective metal hook snapped. I went to the manufacturer website to find a new hook with no luck, so I brought it back to ORW and told them what happened. The response was, "Well we don't have another hook or sling to replace it, so maybe check the website." The lady was not discourteous, but it was clear to me she felt bad for "my" problem. This bothered me so I asked if I could just bring the whole thing back for a refund, and she advised that I could only get store credit. The thing for me is that there is nothing at Oregon Rifle Works that cannot be purchased online, usually for less money. I love to buy from local brick and mortar stores for a lot of reasons, but largely because if there is something that goes wrong there isn't a big hassle calling 800 numbers and dealing with unhelpful websites. So with ORW making it clear that if a purchase from them goes wrong, it is my problem and I should deal with the manufacturer myself, I will just buy online and save a little money until I find a gun shop who makes me feel like a valued customer, and remedies problems that were no fault of mine. read more

I had an odd and specialized need that they went above and beyond to find a solution for. I don't leave reviews. But my experience with Oregon Rifleworks today was so good I just have to give them a shout out. I brought my new, home built, AR15 to them because it started misfiring. Emma met me at the counter and she looked at my rifle and said, "It looks like the trigger pin has worked its way loose. Let me take to our guy on the bench so he can have a look. It looks like an easy fix." In about 10 minutes she came back with my AR15 and said that the trigger spring had been installed backwards and that was the problem. When I asked her how much the repair was she said, "Oh no charge. It only took him a minute." I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. So I wanted to buy something and support them and I asked Emma if they carried gun cases and of course they do. She took me over to the cases, and I found one that I had seen on Amazon last week. She said they were very good cases. To my surprise the same case on Amazon was only $7.00 cheaper, so I told her, "I'll take it!" Not only good service but they are competitively priced. I've lived in the area for a very long time and I gather this place has been her forever. But I never even knew it was here until someone told me about it. In a word (ok, four words) I love this place. Not the best prices in town but their stuff is very high quality and most importantly these days, they have a lot of stock on the shelves. It's a rifle store and they have a lot of rifles, rifle ammo and rifle accessories. Other stuff also, in small quantities but the business is definitely rifle-centric. I din't need any help for my purchases but I did rubberneck a few conversations with customers and staff and the employees there seem to be great. The gal who greeted us at the door asked what we were looking for and she zoomed us right over to what we wanted. And quickly and efficiently checked us out. I wasn't even keen on stopping in figuring they wouldn't have what I wanted since most everyone has been sold out for months. But they had everything on my list. Well done! Parking looks to be problematic. We parked in the little alley where the barber shop is. There may be parking on the side street or behind the store...we didn't look. The main drag through old town Tigard is always busy and finding storefront parking out there has been difficult for decades. read more

Long time coming review. I bought a new handgun and many rounds before, the service was always excellent. Later I purchased a used 30-06 browning with no magazine. Was told that they will find me one for free and I said I would buy two more if they did find them, but I never heard from them even after calling twice. The last time was when I brought a 9mm chiapa carbine "from Big 5" that had broken. They said it might take a while but I was ok because it was just a fun little rifle to plank with. Three calls to ask about how it's going and a literal year later I just go and pick it up. They hand me my rifle striped and without the hard case I had brought it in with. I left trying my best not to say anything other than to just give me back my rifle. When I took it to "Rich's Gun Shop" the same people that did find me my browning magazines they told me lots of screws were missing also. They might be extremely close and convenient for me but I would rather drive to NW Armory on 99 or even better take a long drive down to Donald to a proper gun store. I've bought several 4473 items here and they've always been helpful. They actually have an amazing selection (writing this mid-panic/COVID) and haven't raised their prices dramatically. Basic G19/17s are $539 which is pretty much the MSRP you see on people that haven't raised their prices. Huge selection of Mags and various other things to build your AR. Highly recommend and stroll into the shop from time to time just to look around so I'm sure I'll see you there. read more

Went in bought a rifle. I have called 16 times over the last two weeks and emailed multiple times as well and have heard NOTHING from them. Their phone goes right to voicemail which says "The quickest way to get ahold of us is to call or email." They don't answer and they don't let you leave a message either! All of these reviews are very accurate when it comes to the friendliness of this store, the good prices on ammo , knowledge ...etc. BUT customer service is king when you are selling something that others have that is identical. I bought a rifle from them this last week and it was defective from the first shot. I have had other shops take a gun and do the warranty for me when the gun was so new and needed work. It was not oregon rifleworks fault the gun was defective, but I will spend my money where I get the service after the sale also. Based on the other reviews it looks like I am the only one to have a negative about this store. So maybe wrong day, wrong time when I came back with the issue. read more

This was my forth time visiting this establishment and my last. It felt like the twilight zone as I walked in, and literally everybody was busy talking with each other behind the counter, and a simple hello from the older guy near the rifle area, not a " May I help you" just a hi. I literally walked every aisle and waited for a response, then left when everybody continued talking amongst themselves, whether it was business or not. If you want a store with accessories, I do recommend this store, but if you want personal experience and someone to help you, don't count on it. I'm thinking this is a "if they know you" kind of place. definitely a nice establishment, but again, not for me. Usually when I walk into other establishments everybody drops what they're doing and asks if I need help or if I have any questions to please let them know. I would think a rifle/gun store with five employees behind the counter would have a better customer service understanding and a more of a welcoming feeling. This would have been a one star rating, but again, they do have a pretty cool selection of accessories and other things. read more

I used to go here before Covid, they never had amazing customer service (I'm mainly concerned with gunsmithing), but it was a good location for getting basic stuff for AR building. As other's have mentioned THIS is how a gun store should run. No (palpable) bias on skin color, gender, creed, sexual orientation or religion. What I mean by "palpable" is, in some particular gun stores (small & big box) you can walk in & FEEL how the interaction is going to go between you and those working behind the counter. Avoidance, lack of eye contact, offensively questioning your level of knowledge OR flat out ignoring & avoiding you. (All of which I've personally experienced) If you're a stand up, law abiding human being looking to embrace your RIGHT as an American Citizen then you are treated as such. They welcome you with respect, make eye contact & answer all questions you have. At no point do they attempt to belittle you for being new to the world of gun ownership or attempt to guide the interaction towards the über awkward level. Bottom Line... Go Here. I've purchased my first AR here & got it at a better price than what was advertised in other gun stores. I will continue to be a patron here because it just feels right.
