Although I have not purchased anything from this store, I wanted to provide feedback on their great customer service. I was approached a few times during my visit from associates asking if I needed any help or had any questions. The level of great customer service is remarkable, to a point you almost want to purchase something from the store. They have a great selection of products with a great staff that can speak to any product they carry. I also found the prices to be reasonable. As with most places I'll give places a second try and I'm honestly happy I did. So what was different? The place was busy so it took a while for the lady working on the paperwork side of things to it to work through all the pick ups. I'm pretty sure I was asked if I'd been helped 3-4 times. I wasn't looking at anything just screwing around on my phone. A lot of times you hear that gun store employee's have a snobby holier than thou attitude however from listening to the interactions the employee's had with the different people you could tell they cared. Avoid this business. I was in the store today 5/13/25 . They extort money as much as they can, even things that don't cost them. They are an "elite kiosk" service for Silencer shop online but charge you $40 to use the free Silencer shop fingerprint scanner they agreed to have in the store, unless you are having your equipment shipped to them. Other locations it is free (try Keith's sporting goods in Gresham or the Safe fire range in Vancouver open later and always free) Sham on NA for trying to screw over potential customers charging for a free service. Take your money elsewhere, they don't deserve it with that attitude. read more

In each case they have contacted me the same day that they received the firearm. When I arrive to complete the paperwork etc. they are extremely helpful. I arrived in expecting slower customer service based on some reviews here but as soon as I stepped foot in the door, I was greeted by two people and told it'd only be a minute. A literal minute later, someone was helping me pick the right amo for a new gun I purchased and going through some other accessory information. Being a woman who is new to gun ownership, I'm not the most sure/confident *yet* in everything involved. Everyone here treated me no less than the gun pro male customer next to me, was extremely informative and really kind. Rob R. is a malcontent idiot that is why Keith's staff showed him the door. I have been a Portland area shooter for over four decades with a wealth of knowledge on the local scene. Keith does vastly higher volume than NW armory specifically because his prices are the best around. He has absurdly low markups and therefore is not in the business of treating you like royalty for a crap 20 dollar markup. Know what you are looking for grab it and go home. NW armory on the other hand as you can clearly see does have the time to coddle people. But you will pay for it. Their markup is vastly higher and the counter staff are just salespeople and pretty girls. Fun to look at and they generally know what brands are in what case. But I have never known anyone at any armory location, to be particularly knowledgeable about any aspect of shooting. I would even go so far as to say for most of them, it is just a sales job and they actually have no interest in shooting. The trade in policy at NW armory is absurd, but that is basically the norm for all trade in policies. If you want fair market value for your firearm, you need to do the leg work to sell it yourself. They are likely going to offer you about half what it's worth in trade and less than that if you want to sell it. Personally people who trade in guns strike me as lazy and a bit stupid, seeing as it's not that hard with online auctions to get fair value minus listing fees these days. But if your a tacticool halfwit and want the new plastic space gun peice of crap, on the cover of this months guns and ammo and are okay with rolling the last four cheap pieces of crap you bought into it, so you can be the first idiot at poker night to show the other nimrods your space blaster, than by all means. Having said that I have found NW armory to be mediocrity at it's finest in all categories and have never seen anything there I would consider exceptional. If you are a complete noob and want to be coddled for more markup, go to NW armory. If you want the widest selection by a mile and the best prices go to Keith's. Me personally I prefer to have actual women cater to my needs for affection. If I actually devolved to the point where I needed customer service attendants to cradle my feelings, I would likely turn their wares on my own skull before I degenerated further. But I am also not the type to strut into Subway with much swagger, for the sole reason that some poor minimum wage kid is the only person in society I can get away with giving an earful to. read more

Thanks to the contempt for his customers a sales associate for Keith, owner of a gun store with his name, said "go drive to Northwest Armory" when I asked for a price match for the exact firearm on ad with NW Armory. So with that and absolutely irresponsible offer for a high-quality trade yeah, I took your advice and went to Northwest Armory. Not only does Northwest Armory have better prices but better staff and ownership that value customers. Are you listening Keith? Maybe that's why Northwest Armory has grown to several stores and you rely on low-information customers and regular lousy reviews for customer service. Northwest Armory has the best prices around and I found competitive with many online sites. After going to Northwest Armory from the Gresham store, not only did I get a respectable trade amount for my firearm, I purchased the gun I was after and another gun and several hundred dollars worth of ammo and a holster and tool. If you're looking for basic ammunition and a very limited selection of firearms at very good prices I think Bi-Mart is still probably your best bet but as far as a full service gun store for selection, overall prices and customer service NW Armory leads the local area market hands down. Also, unlike that Gresham store with a useless website and they never answer their phone, Northwest Armory answers their phone and has a full service website where you can actually see what's in their inventory and place orders to ship to your own FFL if you want. read more

Shipping from West Coast to Florida, I have never, at any point, in the last four purchases questioned whether my purchase would ship in a timely manner, or if I would be fighting for refunds in the event I got screwed. I was going to delete one star from them as some ammunition I ordered, which was in live inventory, but then some how was unavailable, and I had to request a refund. However, I decided against that as they responded instantly, and started the refund process. They told me $150.00 for the Nikko because parts were hard to find. I sold it for just over $1000 on Gun Broker They told me about $100 for the H&K. I sold it for $760. Needed to get a firearm for my wife as soon as possible. This was my first time purchasing a firearm from out of state. I love supporting local businesses, but with only 8-10 being brought in each month, with hundreds if not thousands waiting on this model, the chances of me getting this locally anytime soon was almost zero. So I found it in stock at NW Armory, and only hesitated for a second or so before placing the order. After placing the order, I looked at some of their reviews on Reddit as well as Yelp of course, and I will be completely honest and say that I was concerned that things may not go smoothly. But this was one of the easiest transactions I have ever made, with support and service that went well above and beyond my expectations. I placed the order on a Sunday, and they have a list of local FFL (firearms from out of state have to be shipped to a Federal Firearms License Holding Business rather than shipping directly to the customer) that generates when you put in your billing information. I picked one out of the list. On Monday, their website order page showed an update that my order was processing. That afternoon, I received an email from Samantha informing me that the FFL I chose is not doing FFL transfers anymore. She asked me to choose another one. I chose Royal Loan in North Park (who I must say was also great to work with). Without my prompting, she then called them shortly after and verified everything with them, and then the next day my order was shipped out! (PRO TIP: to avoid any snafus, call the FFL you choose to use personally to make sure that they can facilitate the transfer before selecting them) The order page gives real time updates on where your firearm is in the process. From order placed, to packing for shipping, to FFL verified, to shipped out. Tracking number is given also. Everything from start to finish was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised. In these uneasy times, it is great that there is a company out there who is willing to help their customers defend themselves and the lives of their loved ones. They are one of the few places that still has the ammo affected by the vid, however their nasty smug attitude, low balling on guns (90$ on a 7 month old kimber micro 9, with 4 mags, 2 holsters and new and original grips. I know they need to make their money but I'm not getting totally shafted) Really makes me steer clear. If you ask a "dumb" question in their eyes, they ignore you and act like I should bow down to them for doing their jobs. Every time I wanted to buy a gun over the last 3 years I go to big box store. Let me open this review by saying; this is not the first gunstore i've been to, abroad or in portland only, and the second time I've had a firearms related transaction this pandemic. I'm a leftist and pretty fucking queer as well, and I don't expect gunstores to be particularly leftist either, and I didn't feel super scrutinized as a pretty queer looking person there. BUT the biggest issue I had was how serious --- on paper --- this place took covid regulations and how lax they truly were as far as individual employees go. All customers had masks, there were clearly defined places to stand, they limited entry, all of this sounds good and was good! Almost 0 of the employees of which easily made up more than half of the people inside, wore masks. The ones that did had their noses hanging out, pulled their masks down right in front of me to yell across the store to a coworker about something, that kind of thing. As far as actual customer service, I was rushed through very quickly and in and out faster than I've been for any firearm purchase I've made, which is kind of all I really care about for a gun store when there isn't a pandemic. So hey, maybe in a year or less this'll be a more stellar review but right now? its less than good. read more

I've purchased various items here over the years and have never been unhappy with the prices or the staff. The location is not all that convenient for me and the store is rather small and can get quite crowded at times. The staff does a good job taking care of multiple people in parallel which you don't often see. And the staff is very knowledgeable about the items they sell there (and also items they don't carry I suppose). They seem to sell most things at MSRP so you can probably save money somewhere else but if you prefer dealing with a small, family type local business, you'll probably like it here. I don't come by very often any longer, mostly because there are much closer options available to me know. But this place has been there forever and for a long time there were one of only a small handful of stores that stocked a healthy quantity if firearms on site. read more

The service was good and staff very helpful. They had one of the better selections than most of the other places that I checked out. The prices were the lowest in the area. They did a background check that took about an hour, not their fault, it just takes long. They did not have any holsters in stock. I was hoping to get one there, but amazon came to the rescue. All in all, I would recommend them. I was looking for a Concealed Carry and they showed me several that I was interested in. They have a decent inventory, but I question their trades. In my earlier life, before online gun value availability, I traded guns. Sure, I wanted to make money on trades, but I never took advantage of people. Unlike MANY in the biz. Fast forward to last week. I have a nice gun I wanted to trade on a .22. I did research and figured that the retail value was between $350-400. Trade value will vary on how desirable a gun is, and how much a dealer has invested in their gun. Guns.com offered me $210 based on pictures and description. The guy at the counter said they would sell guns like mine for $199. They would give me $100 in trade. If I hadn't done my research and had my prior experience, I might have taken the deal. As it was I said no thank you and left. Granted, people need to make a profit, but not by taking advantage of unsuspecting folks. I'll go somewhere else. read more

I've been into Northwest Armory a few times and bought a firearm and accessory from them. The sales staff are in my experience a mixed bag, some are helpful and knowledgable. Others are more interested in bantering with each other and cutting up than assisting customers. In general you end up doing the eye contact game like at a bad bar, hoping someone will notice you long enough to get your questions answered. Part of this is likely due to the heavy traffic at the store, but McDonalds manages to serve lots of people happy meals with a smile for a $7. If you're spending $1000 plus and have serious safety questions to ask, you'd like to have at least that level of service, and help from someone knowledgeable enough to answer questions and make professional recommendations. read more

First I want to say I have been a NW Armory customer for a number of years but my experience today is definitely going to change that loyalty. In the past I have purchased over $10k worth of new guns. I went in to purchase some ammunition and found they had what I wanted in stock. I asked how many I could purchase and was told only one box of fifty rounds per family per week. I asked if my girl friend who was with me if she could purchase one and was told no. Then as a veteran I asked if they had a veteran discount and was told that the only discount was they wave the $10 background check fee on a gun purchase. So when you buy a $1000 gun you save a whopping 1%. I know there is ammo shortage but to not offer more than 1 box is ridiculous. Add to that the fact that it was priced higher than retail and it all adds up to I won't be back. read more
