I purchased quite a few firearms from Sporting Systems and then I got a pistol that came with the wrong magazine. I ask them to exchange a 15rd mag for a 17rd mag and was flatly told no and was personally actacked by the owner and his wife. They were beyond rude, but this is the way they operate. This is the most egregious jerk-around FFL I've ever encountered; enough so that I was prompted to write a Yelp report about it. I'm a FFL in NH. A local customer wanted to send a handgun to someone in WA, so I told her to find a WA FFL near the recipient, call them, give them my email address, have them email me their license copy, and I'd send the handgun out promptly. So my customer sent me this link that Sporting Systems sent her, instead of just sending the license, like normal dealers do. These fools thought I was going to fill out their idiotic 8-page form just to do a transfer. I don't think so. I contacted my customer and told her to find a better dealer. Their form even says "Many online brokers refuse to submit this form...". Yeah, no kidding, Sherlock. What is WRONG with you people? I sent her a couple links that let you find any FFL holder near you, anywhere in the US. First one is by zip code. It lists "preferred" dealers by distance from a zip, then the list starts over again below with non-"preferred". "Preferred" just means that dealer signed up with them. Second URL will let you select a state, then a town or city. http://www.fflregistry.com/Search-FFL-By-ZIP/ https://www.fflscope.com/directory My customer easily found another dealer, who quckly sent me their license copy without any drama, and I shipped the gun to them. Opportunities lost for this dealer. You DO NOT have to put up with dealers who are difficult to deal with. There are a LOT more FFL holders out there than people realize. For example, there are _SEVENTY-NINE_ FFL holders (many listed as manufacturers, like us, also sell firearms) within a 10 mile radius of this shop's zip code. Plus their transfer charge listed on the form is $50, which is pretty high. You can do better. read more

After going to every gun store within a 100 miles, I purchased one firearm from Sporting Systems, & 1 from a local competitor. In my opinion, Sporting Systems is the best gun store in SW WA! The staff at Sporting Systems is Polite, Patient, Professional, Knowledgeable, & Honest. Sometimes I go there, spend nothing, & receive an education. Other times, I get what I need & go. Then there are the times I get excited, ask too many questions, & spend more than I planned. Yet, because the service is just that, a service, I never regret it, & usually I am pleasantly surprised. Store hours are incorrect.. they close at 6 PM, not 7 PM. I showed up at 5:55 pm just to pick up a few P365 Magazines which confirmed via email earlier in the day.. No lines a guy open a door and said they are closed, come back tomorrow... I told him just need to buy a few magazines, not to shop, nope.., did the sporting system have a new owner? never one time I have a good experience at this location... After an in-person interaction with Dan and reading his reply, I'm updating my review and maintaining a 1-star. Dan, I bought quite a bit through your store over the past couple of years and you should be able to see that in your records. You've made plenty of money off of me. I'm a buyer. And I recommend you start viewing every person who walks through your business's doors as a buyer. How respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful your staff is will get someone to return repeatedly. Customer loyalty is the goal, and it doesn't seem to be a priority for you, your wife, or your business. To the rest of your message - I value a business owner who takes ownership of their shortcomings. You have taken none. Your business should have done better. Others need to know your company has a track record of not valuing its customers. I've been shocked by how many guys at the range have said things like, "go anywhere but there.", "Those guys are so arrogant.", etc. Do better by your customers. Also, I recommend reading the book "Extreme Ownership" by Jocko Willink. Maybe words from a fellow service member will help get you in the right frame of mind. read more

I have been in and around the firearms industry for over thirty years and I have never seen such excessive up selling in my life. The fact that the sales men had to reassure me that he didn't work off commission tells me that if this is true there is compensation coming from the distributor or manufacturers. This is especially dishonest when its done to new gun buyers. Beware the upsell of some of the staff. Nice ambiance and selection but prices are high. read more

I have been around to a lot of shops in the Portland metro, Vancouver just became one of the coolest places to be a gun owner. Sporting Systems is one of the nicest, friendliest gun stores I have been to. If you are looking for AR parts, come here, lots of Magpul in stock. I just picked up a Spikes lower today from them at the same price you would find online, they are not price gouging, its nice to see that around here. I asked if they would help me build it and the response I got was an overwhelming yes! Also, an employee offered to stay late by appointment if I needed help if the bench was full - this is service you don't find anymore. When you walk into the store you are greeted by someone offering you a beverage, the employees let you know they are there to help and they sure do help. They have a little seating area with a TV and coffee table, I sat down in a comfortable Ikea chair when I filled out my 4473 - yea, comfortable. They have a work bench with tools available for the public to use, its awesome. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable if you need help building your AR. Good all-around selection of handguns as well, the usual from Glock, Springfield, Sig, HK, Ruger. My biggest complaint is going to be how small it is. Soon, this place is going to have frequent business and their shop isn't very large. This will be my first AR build, I will probably be in the store once a month since they have a work bench available. read more

I went to this store just to look around and check what they have. I was surprised they got all these high end pistols such as Nighthawks customs, Wilson's combat and others. So many great stuff. Customer service excellent especially the guy name Donald, very knowledgeable. He let me hold some of the nighthawks custom pistols cuz I do own one " The President". Anyway I end up buying the Staccato XC, I'm from Oregon but never see a gun store small but the ambiance so clean and organize. More power to you guys especially when you support 2A. read more

The fact that in 2023 we still have to wait outside to buy ANYTHING is nonsensical. It almost made sense in 2020 with covid but we are so far past that. It's so incredibly off-putting. All I can say is that this place is my new favorite firearm store. It literally has everything you need for firearms. Down to the very last individual spring. Came to to pick up a part for my AR15 and right away the staff was really cool. Didn't feel like the staff was a bunch of hard asses thinking they know everything about guns, like some shops I've visited. Extremely helpful and they seemed to care about assisting you. Also a cool thing about this place is that you can use their work bench to work on any of your firearms. Will be stopping by quite often for the fun of it and to see what's new out there. I really enjoy coming in to the store and shopping for guns. Sporting Systems is awesome and has a ton of guns. The staff is GREAT and completely no pressure and very helpful with everything. I really want to give 5 stars but their prices are high & hurting their business in my opinion. Personally, I have purchased multiple guns elsewhere because they won't even match competitor pricing online or down the street. I understand some of it, but even after multiple in-store purchases, they refuse to offer military discount or even price match. As with the other reviewers, I was a little surprised they are willing to lose loyal customers to save $20 and not price match. I hope the owner is reading all of these reviews. You have a great store but need to offer your customers competitive pricing and reward loyalty; otherwise, you will continue to lose more and more gun sales. read more

I brought my little kiddo in here a few months ago to make a purchase and was completely impressed! While I was looking around one of the associates put on a movie for my kid, brought out a box of toys for her, got her a juice box, and snacks in the waiting area! I was in shock! Great customer service! I'm not extremely knowledgeable on firearms, but have been around them. I emailed this store after checking out the website and I got a response from the owner/manager on one of the days they were closed. I was able to make it by the end of the week and pick up exactly what I was looking for for a fantastic price. They staff was extremely friendly and welcomed me despite my lack of knowledge. They knew literally everything I needed to know and explained it as if it not common knowledge which made it feel like I was learning, not being belittled. After looking at a few firearms, we were chatting like we knew each other. They made this process simple and fun. I truly enjoyed my visit and will be coming back for more. 3/27/2020 I made a purchase from them in 2016, very pleased. I also made a purchase from SafeFire, in Camus, in 2018. I did not necessarily have to be a patron. Yesterday, I went to buy three, one of one model and two of another. Purchases were limited to two per family. However, I was told REPEATEDLY, throughout the purchase of two, I could return the following day and purchase the third. Today I was turned away outside the front door because I was there to make a third purchase. The owner was aware of this and intentionally, came outside and engaged me on this subject. While the door was closed on me. NEVER was it explained the change in policy, from the day before. I was told, per policy the day before, I could make a third purchase the next day. Today, they did not explain per policy, come back in a week, month or year, two years, etc, to make a third purchase. Very disrespectful. So the policy is a whim, and will not be explained to you, or will become a moving target once they capture your dollars. Had I been told yesterday that I could not make a third purchase the following day it would not have deterred me from the two purchases. And had I not been told repeatedly I could make a third purchase the following day, I would not have wasted my time, driving there, standing in the queue in light rain for thirty minutes to be turned away without being informed when I could make a third purchase, per their policy. Spoke with Heidi Mitchell/owner via phone call 5:07PM. Looking to get paper work done on transfer. Transfer was delivered early AM. Plenty of time to get inventoried in. I tried to explain the bad experiences/situation that happened last transfer. Employee forgot to put in u-pen# by the time he was done he ran my background 3 times = delayed. Mid sentence she started raising her voice talking over me very rudely repeating that she had to inventory it first and she's not going to change her answer. I let her know I understand it has to be inventoried. If she would have took just a little time to listen to my concerns as a customer. I was addressing two issues. Very rude won't be doing business anymore. The employees are very nice. But the owner's can be very rude. At times they have been pleasant/helpful to deal with. This is the second time iv had bad experience. First time was at old location with husband/owner. Lost my business as well as any referral do to poor customer service. read more
