What an excellent experience from start to finish. My goal was to determine the right handgun for me. I had a list of 4 I wanted to try and visited Safefire because they had them and also great reviews. As a lady searching for my first pistol I was nervous about what my experience would be. Immediately my nerves were calmed by their professionalism and kindness. Directions were clear and easy to follow. I was treated with the respect I brought to the experience. As I worked my way through the guns on my list the guys in the range checked in about what I thought. After firing a few he inquired what the purpose of my gun is and I explained it is home defense. Maybe concealed carry at some point. He suggested a gun not on my list and I gave it a try. I fell in love and ordered the gun! Excited to get it next week! First time actually shooting at the Safefire Indoor Shooting Range. Check in and check out was smooth and easy. Got assigned a Bay and Lane, once entering I met with the range officer who went over safety and operation of the target controls. The faculty was clean and well run resulting in a pleasant experience. Definitely will return for more practice and to take some of the firearms courses offered. Service- Their both amazing cashiers I truly appreciate the customers service and, how they properly walk you through everything! Selection-Selecting which gun to shoot was easy I had an idea but, the cashier explained which one would be best for me to shoot for my size, what I really wanted to shoot, and be able to check one gun at a time and different ones during the time frame you are shooting! Value-I learned how to street shoot and, the instructor I had was very patient and calm with me. He taught me techniques I didn't know and the proper way to hold my gun, keeping my hand of the trigger until I am ready to shoot, and always keep your gun pointed down! I had my fourth visit to this range on Jan.10,2025 and felt compelled to give an update based on my experience. I came in to zero-in my new red dot sight (I was in Bay 2). A staff member noticed I was trying to zero-in my red dot and asked if I needed help. He immediately brought a stool and bag to set my pistol on as well as tools to dial-in the windage and elevation. He was called to attend to something else, however, he had another gentleman step in and help. Both staff members were great and very helpful and respectful. And my red-dot is dialed in to perfection. If I miss my mark, it's because of my technique and mechanics lol. This range continues to show great service, and provide a great overall experience. I've been to many ranges, and this is the best and cleanest by far. I'm looking forward to more days on this range. Note to owner, please take care of your staff. They deserve the best. read more

Everything they say on their website is the truth. Our main priority is safety, and we felt completely safe here. The check in process was pretty easy. They don't have a lot of lanes, so on a busy day, you might have to wait a bit. They had 3 safety guys in the range when we were there keeping an eye on things. They offer rentals also. I came in to shoot solo and use a rental. I checked in and they had me wait 1 hour, pick out a rental and targets, to tell me at the end I couldn't shoot because they didn't know I was by myself due to safety issues and possible suicides. Where is that information on their website and why wasn't that mentioned to me before I sat waiting for the last hour?!? That has to be the dumbest rule I have ever heard. I've always been to ranges by myself with no issue. I brought my own ammo and my LEO credentials that they never bothered checking. I came in to practice. They never asked if I was law enforcement so I don't know if that would have changed anything but I definitely won't be back unless I'm obligated by my agency for qualifications. read more

My wife and I just became Safefire members. Today, as we were shooting, one of the range staff came over and gave my wife some very helpful help with shooting. He then asked an instructor (I think his name was Vince), if he could take over and give her some more advice. He was so helpful and just knew exactly how to communicate and zero in on the key issues she was having! I can't say enough how helpful these guys were. Today I had the unfortunate opportunity to enter bay 2. Micheal, was arrogant, rude, and extremely unprofessional with his comments. Friendly staff. Came during the promotion and saved some $. Check-in was easy and quick and you might be welcome by a friendly dog in the lobby. Good selection of popular pistols for you to rent. You either need to have your own gun or bring a 2nd person to use their rental program, and it is for suicide prevention according to employees. If you buy a gun from them within 30 days of your visit, your rental fee will go into the purchase, which was one of the main reasons I chose to come here. $25 for 50 rounds, covid price. Rangers were friendly and one of them showed us how to operate the system and the firearm (I know another range that charges fees for teaching first-time shooters). You can try as many guns as you want during your rental hour. One thing I wish they would do is to update the automatic phone system if they are closed. Google said they were open. Called and the first thing the automatic system said was "we are open" (I didn't wait to talk to an actual person), then I drove 40 mins to find out that they were closed. No one wears a mask at this place so take this into consideration if you are concerned. read more

I'm from an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean . There are no indoor shooting ranges for, idk, a few thousand miles. I had never been to an indoor range prior to my visit here. I can barely say I've been to an outdoor range. I'm a redneck at heart, shooting cans and cardboard cutouts haphazardly nailed to trees is my comfort zone. That said, I was pleasantly surprised with Safefire Range. The range officers were helpful (they helped us with a jammed pistol and made sure everyone was following rules) and no one was all bossy and pushy (not gonna lie, I totally expected that for some unknown reason). The rental program was really cool and I liked that we got to try different pistols. Pro tip - you have to buy their ammo to use on their firearms so buy a box and keep to one caliber or you'll be shelling out $$$ for different caliber bullets. You can always come back another time and try something else. Or don't, get all the calibers. It's your money anyway. Cheers! read more

I was refused a lane because I only got there 45 minutes before closing time and the fight for 15$ hr store clerk wanted to go home early. I already cant even get a cheeseburger after dark cause no one is willing to work. Cant even shoot at the range cause they dont wanna clean up afterwards and they're closing early. I went here for my birthday a year or so ago. Haven't been back and won't be going back. The range masters wouldn't leave us alone and wouldn't stop hitting on my wife. The people at the counter as you go into the range where zero help and pretty rude. I've been shooting for years and have never been to a range where I was upset when I left. Safe Fire is now the only range I refuse to shoot at. At least know I know why the guys shooting at the pit won't go either. I personally would stay far far away until they get some better staff. My wife was just as upset when we left as they made her extremely uncomfortable as when they wernt hitting on her just stood there blatantly staring at her ass. The range gets 5 stars; safe, well organized, RSO present, no hairball or sketchy behaviors by patrons. Women feel welcome here, as do novice shooters. Expect a long wait (1 hour). I'm only giving one star for handgun intro class. I feel strongly that a work or professional environment, and surely a classroom, is no place for discussion of the 3 no's :sex, religion, and politics. An Intro to Handgun instructor ought to be held to high standards-they form a basis for much of a new shooter's safety behaviors and firearm attitudes. Biased, opinionated speech turns people off to guns, and certainly Safefire classes. Any professional knows better. I am going to try a class in January; I will revise my review then if it is warranted. Another negative experience will find our family driving to F.A.S. in Onalaska, Wa, for further training. read more

Started doing business with this company couple months back mostly FFL work but thought it's nice to have another option in the area takes me a half hour to get there and they wouldn't let me do paperwork for a gun that they had because they have a rule that they don't do FFL paperwork after 530 (they still had 15 minutes to do five minutes worth of paperwork) which I knew nothing about, so that's my last time with them, I buy a lot of guns but I won't darken their doorstep again, employee indifference kills businesses. read more

I've heard some folks talk about range officers getting too close. I'm getting back to guns and I know I'm still getting in my comfort zone and I'm sure they can tell and so for my money they're just being safe. Every time I talk to one they show me an aspect of the booth or help with a jam (new gun and a few cheap slugs), and when I settle in and start nailing targets they move on. No biggie. The entire facility is remarkably clean. Restaurant clean. There's a dog roaming around who is a sweetie. I've worked with range officers, range merchants, the gunsmith, and folks in the gun shop and they've all been helpful and polite. After only a few visits a few of them are starting to remember me and there's a welcome back/you know the drill vibe going. I've got a shotgun so getting outside and shooting clays would be nice but it's too hot and dry to mess with that. For now, visiting this place and shooting some slugs is exactly what I need. My favorite place to shoot when I can't make it out to the woods. Range Safety Officers are friendly and on point. There are lots of rules and that's a good thing. It's safe and controlled. It's a great place for beginners to learn how to handle firearms safely and more advanced shooters can work on grip, stance, trigger control, sight picture, etc. If you want to practice drawing from holster, you'll need to complete their class which is reasonable and worthwhile. They allow most calibers and platforms so be aware that you might get a blasty gun in the next stall. It could be disconcerting if you're not used to it but just breathe and relax, it's not a real problem and once you get used to it, you might even feel proud that you got over it. read more

This place is the nicest range in the Portland metro area, hands down. The only indoor range that I have found that allowed me to sight in my .223. Please don't bring your bi-metal ammo here, they won't allow you to shoot it because it will penetrate their armor plating. Please don't try to sneak it in with other ammo, they will know because it ruins their plating and they will charge you for the repair. This means no Tulammo, Wolf, WPA, Silver Bear, Bear, Norinco, anything with a green tip. Just don't do it, I want to be able to continue to shoot my rifle here. My experience with Safefire started when I was looking for a place to take my new AR that I purchased; not wanting to be out in the rain I looked around for an indoor place that would allow me to sight in my new AR. The facility is brand new, its clean and nice the storefront was well stocked with friendly people. Not a huge selection of firearms but they had all the standard items that someone could want has a new gun buyer. The range is downstairs, they charge $20 an hour. They ask that you buy their targets, they are priced high. You can shoot your own ammunition and pick up your brass. This is more than fair, this facility is well worth this cost. You get your lane assigned to you, you go to your designated room and find your lane. Each lane is separated by plexi glass so you wont have any issues with other peoples brass from the next lane hitting you. The pulley system is all electronic, there is a touch pad that will take the target out to 10, 20, 50 or 75max feet out, as well as increments of whatever distance you want. Ventilation is awesome not once did I notice an excess of powder in the air that you often find in other facilities. There is a range officer in each room at all times. The range officer lets you know if you shoot too high and hit their signage he will talk to you. If you shoot their electronic pulleys then they will talk to your credit card. The RO's are nice and have offered tips to improve my form. read more

My wife and I went there for the first time this last Saturday. The facility was state of the art, clean, and is overall a great looking place. However, the staff is extremely rude and snobby. When I explained that I was not a member, and that this was our first time there, they acted put out about answering our questions, and gave us curt, one word answers. The range officers were rude and I could hear them making rude comments about some of the other patrons, including my wife, who is new to the shooting sport. My first and last time there.
