I'd bet the 1/2 star votes are from individuals who don't understand the laws of "wait" periods or voted for laws to be put in place such as 1639 and now suffer the consequences of such ridiculous laws. I purchased 9 different items including 3 that required a background check. I asked for a bulk purchase discount and was told NO after the "salesman" went to ask. I was basically told that business was so good that they didn't need to give any percentage off. The price I paid was full MSRP. Considering the savings of going home and ordering online would have amounted to about $150, I paid the man and left. $15-$20 off would have made me happy for the sake of customer service. The quality of person to person service is top notch, but the prices are MSRP which isn't normal. The problem is that there aren't very many other shops, especially with the selection. read more

Very impressed with the work they do in protecting our 2A rights so I drove 2 1/2 hours just to check out their store. Well worth the drive. Great store, well set up and decorated, tons of product packed into the place. Loved it but even more impressive to me were the people working there. Very courteous, helpful, and friendly. Asked several times if they could answer questions, show us something, or help in any way. In fact they offered us a coffee which was very cool too. Will definitely go back despite the drive. I've been to many gun stores that I will never go back to simply because the employees were stand offish snobs, Sporting Systems in definitely not one of those. read more

Not only the worse gun store but by far the worst place of business I have ever been in. Went in to have them handle a person to person transfer. Had every intention of buying a new gun while there but the women was so unbelievable rude there was no way that was going to happen. Add in their price was double the going rate for transfers and that the shop was nothing special as far as gun shops go, we will never be back again. We had a good laugh about it after, it was that ridiculous. Don't waste your time or money on these guys. Much better options to be had. read more

Didn't care so much about the transfer not going through, it was your attitude and demeanor you had. Like you treated him and his wife along with the person that was with us like you couldn't careless, you didn't explain anything about what you just said on this review that took you months to reply to?? Thanks for your meaningful response. The main reason I called and got hung up on was and still is your cost to do a transfer!! Down the street from your business is a pawn shop that does transfers for $15.00 less and all I wanted to know is why you price gouge your customers that have spent hundreds of dollars in your establishment ! I love this place! I have built two AR-15s here and the staff goes above and beyond every time I walk through the door. The owners are knowledgeable and fair. The prices are reasonable. So I'm kinda new to firearms and I moved to the area about a year ago so I thought I would check this place out. I have been to every gun store within about a 30+ mile radius and honestly nothing comes even close to this place. They had every handgun I was looking for, they treated me with a level of professionalism that was hands down better then other shops. They are not pushy and really listen to your needs. What I truly respect is that they do not put pressure on you to buy anything they tell you what they recommend and then point you towards places to try them out before hand. Well I just moved to Washington specially Longview and I am looking into buying a AR-15 and there aren't many gun shops in Longview, I searched on Google and came across Sporting Systems and I took a trip down to Vancouver and as soon as I walked in the atmosphere was awesome the store was well stocked with everything from small gun parts/accessories to a big Barrett M82CQB, one of the workers approached me and asked if I needed help and explained what I was looking for and he walked me to the AR-15s that they had in stock and he went into details about the 3-5 guns that he showed me, I explained that I just moved from California and explained all the gun laws and how I just needed to be a resident for 3 months and that I just need to pass the quick background check and that I can walk out with my gun that day as long as I clear the background, well even though I couldn't get my gun that day I was very pleased with the service and store I'm definitely gonna go back in a couple of months to get my gun and gun accessories/parts! read more

Super cool store. I stopped in by chance as Sporting Systems was near my travel destination. They had more handguns in stock than I've seen for years in California. Even knowing I was from out of state and most of their stock wasn't legal in CA they were glad to let me fondle whatever I cared to. Huge AR parts supply on the shelf too. read more

There is no better place to shop in the Portland Metro area. Massive selection of high quality firearms and parts IN HOUSE, not in someone's warehouse. Plenty of knowledge as well, and they have done much to fight for all of our rights. Yes, there are cheaper places to order a gun from. I for one am happy to pay a little more to help keep a huge selection on hand, a great experience in the shop and help them fight to keep our state from going off a cliff. Keeping that inventory is a massive investment, and they make it happen. Yes, they are complying with the ridiculous orders from the governor. They are doing their absolute best to keep things moving for all of us, and the rules are what the government is demanding. They stuck their necks out because we all agreed they were essential, but customers have to have realistic expectations for what that looks like. Keep up the good work! read more

I have been to this shop shortly after it opened and have been back every month since. I was amazed that they have a Friday night event called Bull Shootin that shuts all sales down from 6-8 p.m. and allows customers to come in for appetizers and discuss firearms & related in a great atmosphere. I was amazed at how fun this was and an exceptional touch of class! This isn't your average gun shop it is a full service high end fraternity of gun lovers open to all. Wow, where do I start? I guess to give you a better Idea of exactly why I'm writing this review, I'll give you a little background on myself. I'm extremely new to firearms, recently got into AR15s, and like anything else I get into, I got in DEEP! I got onto all the forum and Facebook pages, started reading up about em, etc. Unfortunately, not a lot to choose from (or so I thought) as far as gun shops go, in my area. I constantly felt as though I was "settling". I don't know enough about guns yet to feel comfortable ordering parts online. I wanna ask questions! Make sure stuff is gonna work, and fit properly, ya know?! And unfortunately the shops in the area weren't really much help. Until I stumbled into Sporting Systems....once again, WOW! I was in awe! So much stuff, everything you can imagine! Haha so right off the bat, I'm greeted with smiles and handshakes, one employee even asked if I'd like a bottle of water or a coffee! What the hell?!? Am I dreaming?! Usually, the tone in a gun store is far different, more of a "are you gonna buy anything" vibe, right? Not here! Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful, I had someone along side me, basically the entire time I was there (near 30 min) helping me and answering my questions, no matter how "dumb" those questions might be. Not once did I feel stupid for asking a beginner question or not knowing exactly what I was looking for. And the prices were amazing! Close to what you'll find online even.....and to top the whole thing off, I'm told every other Friday, they do a "bull shootin" night, where gun enthusiasts gather and just talk and hang out! Food and refreshments on the house! They raffle for veteran charities, etc. I found a new second home. read more

If you are looking for a firearms shop in Vancouver, this is THE PLACE to go. Their inventory is excellent and their prices are more than fair. The service is unbeatable!The employees are very knowledgeable and also extremely patient. They will let you look at firearms as long as you need and also educate you on the benefits and drawbacks to that firearm. They offer drinks as well. I have seen that place PACKED, but even then, their excellent service never declined. Hands down, the most polite gun shop that I have been to! read more
