I've had no issues with OMG, while there's not a hospital facility around that isn't sometimes hard to contact, I haven't found that to be the case with OMG. Would give zero stars if I could. Massive failure. First OMG randomly cancelled my biologics chemotherapy, which endangers my life, but then they randomly dropped all of Dr Balsam's OHP patients without notice. When he retired they refused to reassign his patients and said "we aren't accepting NEW OHP patients", nvm the fact I've been with the practice for 20 years. The letter I received about his upcoming retirement said to call for further steps. I did and they said they can't tell me anything about further steps, can't reassign me to a new doctor, and I have to wait until he actually retires to see what happens. Fast forward a couple months and I call with a serious health concern and request to be seen, don't care by who ( in the past I've always just been scheduled with the crescent clinic), and was told "your doctor retired and we don't take Trillium so you're not our patient anymore, we can't see you." Incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, and unethical behavior. Will be reporting to the Oregon medical board. OMG used to be a great clinic. Since Optum took over, they've become a dumpster fire. They also badly mishandled my Dad's treatment for years. They were giving him biologics chemotherapy for his condition as well, with zero oversight from any sort of doctor, and failed to have him overseen by a rheumatologist - the rheumatology clinic here failed me as well and is a total joke. He finally got his treatment handled through Slocum and is in much better shape now. He said he wasted years with OMG mismanaging his condition and unduly suffering due to their incompetence. read more

Beyond disgusted. Doctor is great. support staff sucks! call to make an appointment with Doctor, they try to put me into an appointment with a PA at a completely different clinic. I make my yearly Medicare physical appointment a year ahead of time, they cancel it three months before, tell me that I cannot get another with my doctor until next year (it is June now), but they would be glad to make me a telehealth appointment....Isn't an annual checkup supposed to actually check things like blood pressure, heart rate, listening to lungs? apparently not if we are going to do it over the internet. I have had notes in my chart telling me that they are referring me to a specific practice. I hear nothing, so I call the practice. they have not received any referral, so call OMG, turns out they referred me to a completely different doctor, even though it is clearly stated in my chart where the referral is for. I am then told that that is just the state of medical care here in Oregon, so deal. There are things my doctor understands that are not in my chart where the whole point of having the same doctor is that there is continuity, not having to start over every time you go in. But of course, that is just the state of the medical process here in America,is what they tell me. I never had these problems in California..... read more

I had been a patient of OMG since I was 16 years old and the care there has just gradually got worse until my last visit in August of 2025 when my PCP retired and I got assigned to a new PCP, Dr. Shugi Zheng at the Mohawk Clinic in Springfield. At our initial appointment, we were going over my medications, one of which is a med that contains a high dose of aspirin, which he informed me of and then moved on to the next medication. I stopped him and said, "Well wait, how long is it safe to take it then." In which he LITERALLY replied, "Well now that I told you that, you can take it for as long as you want." So basically, "now that my ass is covered, take it until your kidneys fail for all I care." I ended up disputing the bill...I didn't feel I needed to pay $400 for such pathetic health care. The bill remained in "review", with me checking on it several times throughout that almost year, until June of 2026, and then the billing department, without letting me know it was "out of review", sent me a sweet letter saying they were sending me to collections. I ended up paying the bill for this pathetic excuse for health care and it makes me sick. Just wanted to let anyone out there know what kind of care they are going to get if they go to Oregon Medical Group. DON'T DO IT!! I highly recommend Springfield Family Practice!! Billing is a total mess and discrimatory. 10yrs i been there never had a balance of more 300$ paid 50 a month always paid it off, now that UNITED HEALTH has it they tell me I have to pay 83 month or be sent to collections on a bal of 244$ they said larger balance they carry , I assume thousands but low balances i can go to access 1 which is a loaning insatuation so the discriminate based on income and balances!! This place is a joke. If you are looking to imaging done, save yourself about three hours of time and go to Oregon Imaging Center instead. After calling to verify that they were open until 7pm for X-rays, I went in at 3:30pm to get one. Verified with my doctor that an order was faxed over (he had a confirmation of same) and was told for two hours that they hadn't received it. Then I am told that it's not so much they haven't received it, it's that the admin in the back who would have received the fax went home for the day and the receptionist up front (Blaire who was so kind and tried her best to be helpful), couldn't access them because she was having computer problems. My doctor sent the fax AGAIN. It still didn't come through on their end. The I got on the phone with my doctor who gave the verbal authorization over the phone and provided the codes for what needed to be done so that it could be entered manually and I could be in my way. Except not. I was then told that the "supervisor of imaging" said that wouldn't work because it would be a liability. My options at that point were to re-check in, pay for an office visit, an x-ray and a radiologist or leave and come back tomorrow. I told her very respectfully that they are a joke and I will not be coming back. read more

After having surgery through Slocum Orthopedics and having the worst care possible I made an appointment with the orthopedic office and finally got the physical therapy that I had needed. At Slocum I had surgery to repair a broken ankle and developed an infection that was caused by lousy care. Being an RN and having experienced many surgeries I have never developed an infection. When the sutures are placed so far apart that you could drive a truck through them, any idiot would know what will happen next. I had a second surgery to remove the source of infection from my ankle on 12/23. Merry Christmas ! read more

I got totally surprised by charges added to my annual wellness visit (AWV). This is my third such visit with this doctor. During the visit which was nearly identical to the previous ones, the doctor once again asked me if I needed any refills of my regular meds and I thought of one. We did not discuss it or the issue it was related to. OMG charged for "dual visit" (AWV and a complex- not simple- office visit) due to addressing "a problem" when AWVs are only for prevention. Medicare was charged $500 ($150 for me) for the "second" visit. It was completely unethical for the doctor to have knowingly baited me; I could have refilled the med via the pharmacy for no charge. I don't know if the doctor did it on purpose because I get essentially no response. I was and am still outraged. The billing office was not open to change the billing and reminded me I had signed the financial agreement. Yes, I signed the agreement but had no way to know something as simple as this was included or that the doctor would not inform me of charges first. How I long for the old days when an annual visit had real meaning and I could trust my doctor. I suspect Optum has made things like this. read more

Do NOT go here for an MRI!!! I had a nightmare experience. I had an MRI on my femur. It was supposed to be with and without contrast, but it became so painful that I had to stop about an hour and 10 minutes in to the procedure and we hadn't yet gotten to the contrast portion. Between the large tumor in my leg and a herniated disc in my back from 10 years ago, my sciatic nerve pain became unbearable. The technician barely acknowledged my complaint about being in pain. She basically said 'a lot of people are uncomfortable during MRIs' and pushed me to keep going. I begged the technician to let me stretch my leg and she said any movement would make the scans unusable. She didn't budge until I started crying. We attempted to continue after a short break where she put a few small foam strips under my lower back and I took an extra dose of my anxiety medication in hopes it would make me drowsy enough to get through it. Even then, I wasn't allowed to get up or remove the weighted frame holding my legs in place. It didn't help with the pain. And another few minutes in, I said I couldn't continue. I had to tell her to stop REPEATEDLY before she acknowledged me and stopped the machine. I'm a bit claustrophobic, but my anxiety didn't become an issue until I felt trapped in the machine with no way to escape the pain I was experiencing. The extreme level of poor communication was stunning. It made me genuinely worry about anyone who may experience a medical emergency while undergoing an MRI at OMG. When the technician finally ended the scan early, she repeatedly asked me if it was a pain issue or a "head" issue, which felt incredibly condescending. She also stated that she wasn't sure if the MRI would be usable because I didn't finish and I was squirming around so much. I left in tears, in pain, still undiagnosed (it turned out to be cancer), worried about having to come back in and do it again - not to mention how much I would be billed for each of the scans. In contrast, when I went to Oregon Imaging Center, each MRI was much shorter, they made me comfortable with pillows under my knees, and they gave me a little panic ball I could squeeze if I wanted to come out at any point. (Though it didn't end up being necessary.) They even explained how unusual it was for a femur scan to take so long. At OIC, they typically take 35-40 minutes without contrast and perhaps as long as 50 minutes *with* contrast. They also didn't seem surprised that I'd had a bad experience at OMG Imaging. They hear it from a lot of people. I'll never go to OMG for imaging again. Only OIC from now on! My friends in the healthcare industry encouraged me to file a formal complaint with the licensing board for MRI technicians, the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging, but I have no idea what the technician's name was. I did follow up with OMG to tell them about my experience and asked them to reach out to me, but they never contacted me. I'm not surprised. read more

Went to urgent care. Very strange medical staff. The MA was burping and snorting and telling weird jokes. The PA asked me when I had last given oral sex when talking to me about my sore throat. No doctor has ever asked me that before. He asked if I have oral sex and I said not really.. and he said "well do you?" I said yes sometimes and he said "when was the last time?" I felt like walking out. The he said he was giving me a drug for my throat pain without looking at my medical past or current meds. Thank goodness I googled it before they gave it to me. It causes anxiety and depression - both of which I take meds for and am very prone to!! I walked out right then and there.. do not go here. I started going to OMG when I moved to Oregon in 1984. Had great doctors and care until they were bought out by Optum. I am now in a situation where I have no primary care doc as their staff has been fleeing like lemmings off a cliff. They can still see me for basics, like a cold or flu, but cannot do any sort of annual exams without me having a primary care doc, and I can't have one because they don't have enough doctors. I can't wait for open enrollment so I can dump United Health Care and hopefully find a new primary in some other clinic. read more

They accepted my insurance without any problems for 35 years. Then in June 2024, Oregon Medical Group suddenly refused to bill my insurance anymore (Aetna Medicare Advantage Parts A, B, C and D) and they didn't even notify me. When OMG declines to accept a senior citizen's excellent health insurance, what hope is there for Eugene's old people? I'm 66. I need to see a doctor. Waited over a year to get an appointment with my dr (haven't seen him in about 2 years). Fasted all day. Checked in to an examination room and sat in there for exactly 60 minutes before I walked out into the hall to 3 ladies huddled up. I told them that this is ridiculous and disrespectful and headed for the exit. They giggled as they informed me that the doors were locked up(now it is after hours), and pointed me to a door at the end of the hall to exit. No apologies, no attempt to get an update from the dr, no nothing. I emailed the Dr through MyChart and got this "sorry, long day". This is healthcare minus the care. read more

In October 2024 I contacted the Oregon Medical Group Clinic at NE 33rd in Portland Oregon by phone. I told them I had Aetna Insurance, and I asked if they were accepting new patients. They assigned me an MD and scheduled an appointment for Nov 1st. When I arrived for that first appointment, I told them I had Aetna Medicare Insurance, and I showed them my Aetna Insurance Card, which the office clerk copied for their files. In December I had another MD appointment at the NE 33rd Clinic, and a third MD appointment in February 2025. Each time I came to the 33rd Clinic, I offered to show my Aetna Medicare Card, and I asked if their were any charges, and the office clerks always told me there were no charges. The three MD appointments were Preventative Care, which is fully covered by my Aetna Medicare Insurance. In July 2025 I received a call from an office staff member of the NE 33rd Clinic to inform me that the Oregon Medical Group, including the 33rd Clinic, does not accept Aetna Insurance, and that I would have to find a different health care provider. The 33rd Clinic office staffer did not mention any billing issues. In September 2025, I received a notice in the US mail from the Oregon Medical Group, including a bill in the amount of $1,011 for my three MD appointments at the NE 33rd Clinic, which the Oregon Medical Group expects me to pay out of my own pocket. The NE 33rd Clinic and their corporate overlord, the Oregon Medical Group, have billed me $1,011 for the mistake that their own office staff made. On Google Reviews, the NE 33rd Clinic has 38 one star (Extremely Negative) ratings, out of 108 reviews, which is a 35% Extremely Negative rating, with a low overall score of 3.3. Most of the negative reviews of the NE 33rd Clinic describe disorganization, incompetence, and unprofessional behavior of the Clinic's office staff. Whenever I explain this situation to people, they say that the behavior of the NE 33rd Clinic and the Oregon Medical Group is outrageous and despicable. I regard this predatory billing by the Oregon Medical Group as a type of Medicare Fraud. read more

I recommend you stay away. Oregon Medical Group acquired Greenfield Health and they seem to be only focused on maximizing profits. I needed a simple prescription change that I had already discussed with my doctor. When it came time to make this change my doctor "wasn't available" to schedule, they made me meet with a new doctor and then charged me ~$400 to make a basic prescription change. I've filed a complaint with the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection agency. I've also changed my care to a different medical group. Unbelievably bad. I have been an OMG patient for at least 15 years. Have liked and trusted my doctor, but now can't ever get in to see her even though I have a chronic medical condition that needs monitoring. Was sent yesterday to get an ultrasound at OMG imaging. Waited forever and then then tech basically didn't even speak to me (no context, no checking if I had fasted properly, etc.) I got my results -- telling me I have a new major healthcare issue - by portal. No phone call, no help with interpretation, no information about follow up. It's like all humanity and the "care" part of healthcare has been drained from this practice. I guess I'm lucky to have a PCP at all, but OMG has become awful and our entire community's healthcare - and mental health - is suffering as a result. For at least year (I think it has been considerably longer than that), I've never called OMG but what the recorded message has told me: "We are experiencing longer than normal wait times. This is not the experience that we want our patients to have," etc. Since this message is played every time for every call, I'm left to wonder when I would hace to call to find a "normal wait time." A far worse problem I have with OMG is that, in my experience, they have a hard time keeping good doctors, the result being that the number of mediocre doctors increases while the number of good doctors decreases. I call in to see if I can get an appt with a certain doc for recent issues and "April" says he isn't taking new patients(very short)...and I say who is taking new patients and I was met with...some of our newer FEMALE doctors, and you can go to our website to see who...let me give you the address..(proceeds to give me the address moving to get me off the phone)...and I am like wholly *@*#*@# what is going on at OMG? #1-April, needs to get the boot if she cannot be bothered to smile on the phone, and actually act like the patient is important or the call is worth it to follow through and help the CUSTOMER get in with a PROVIDER. April, honestly you should go flip burgers if the phone que is too hard for you. I have had the same doctor who I absolutely loved for years. I called to setup my annual bloodwork as well as get several new issues discussed. The phone number wouldn't work so I called one of the other branches only to find out they decided not to renew their building lease, shut down my clinic, and my doctor (along with the other doctors there) left OMG and I no longer have a doctor. Like many of the previous reviews, I too, take issue with OMG. Today I tried scheduling an appointment with my PCP, which I might add is the third one I've had in the past 4 years. But because I had not seen a doctor at OMG for three years, I was now considered a "new patient", and my assigned PCP was no longer taking new patients. I was never notified of this policy, so of course I was surprised to learn that I would need to find a new doctor. The person scheduling the appointments was apologetic, but not very helpful when asked about next steps. So, the moral of this story is that, if you belong to OMG, are healthy and don't need to see a doctor for three year, you will be looking for a new doctor! read more

I was a patient of Oregon Medical Group for 20 years. After COVID, our appointment wait times were months long and practitioners had no time to spend with patients. Optum was funky and it seemed like I had to reregister every visit. Finally, my PCP left Oregon Medical Group and they unceremoniously dropped me and my daughter because we didn't have any active appointments set up. They never even told us or sent a letter. Found out when my spouse tried to set up an appointment for our daughter. 0 out of 10. Do not recommend. read more

And now Peace Health has a two week waiting period for them to call you back to see if any doctors are accepting new patients. I'm having to look in Corvallis and Salem for a new GP. OMG was poorly managed and now that Optum has purchased OMG this ship is rapidly sinking. Don't waste your time calling or dealing with them. I've never felt more talked down to in my life. When I called to try to make an appointment, I was treated normaly until I told her my insurance. Her tone quickly changed to talking down to me when I mentioned I had OHP. She told me they were not accepting THOSE kind of patients. She told me in a tone I will remember the rest of my life, "You need to go find a job to be seen here." Primary Care has sucked for many years there. Gradually getting worse every year. But the worst of the worst happened. I was with my PMD for 13 years or so, saw him in October. I am an ER nurse and was told by my PATIENT during a discussion last week about how overwhelmed our ER has been taking multiple patients being sent by primary care and how we see less emergencies and more primary care issues. She tells me her mother's doctor suddenly retired and they got no notice until they tried to get an appointment. They were told "you should have gotten a letter." Then she told me who it was. MY DOCTOR, too. I went on the portal that night and couldn't log in. I have gotten no replies from OMG. My doctor was probably too young to "retire". He never notified his patients (doesn't surprise me, really). OMG hasn't sent a "letter". I talked to the staff a few days ago who does med refills after waiting way too long to get a refill on my prescription. I had to press her, but after I told her what I do for a living and how we've seen such a huge increase in Primary Care in our ER she admitted to me their new owners "dropped the ball" and handled his leaving "poorly". And she confirmed my doctor is gone. He had a lot of patients. ALL THOSE PATIENTS were suddenly undoctored, without notice. On a "waitlist" for OMG with no one to replace him. You can't go to the NOW clinic if you are not a patient. They are referring his patients to Urgent Care for primary care, and they are too busy and actually get to close their doors at night, and guess where the other patients are sent to? Yup. EMERGENCY. So, I still have not been notified. I have no idea when he "retired" but I heard he gave plenty of notice to OMG. I never got a letter. I can't get ahold of anyone, no one answers the phone. My biggest concern is that no matter if a patient is verbally or physically abusive to me, I HAVE to care for them in the ER. I cannot abandon my patients. Doesn't this also equal PATIENT ABANDONMENT? Is there a legal cause for this, or are they so wealthy that they hired a legal team to find the loophole in the clause that they could get away with this?? read more

Go ANYWHERE but here. Multiple times the doctor messed up on my dosage and I ended up taking 4x what I was supposed to. When the pharmacy asked if this was right, I told them no, but then it took days for my doctor to get back to me and ultimately said that she messed up after I was already taking the incorrect dosage because that's all that I could get. Let me begin by saying that the physicians, physician's assistant (PA) and nurses I've dealt with at OMG are incredibly professional. I have only good things to say about the aforementioned group of people. However OMG has hired on at least 2 medical assistants (MA) who lack in tact, professionalism and courtesy. At Southtowne I had personal medical information practically broadcasted across a waiting room for all other patients to hear. The same MA refused to follow up with a PA who worked in the same office which lead to me taking an incomplete series of tests, even after I persisted with the request several times. The NOW Clinic is employing an MA who thinks it's appropriate to leave tests results on voicemail in an ominous manner with absolutely no explanation of the results. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of undue stress this caused on my entire family. OMG would GREATLY benefit by raising it's highering standards for MAs and focusing on impriving efficacy with better training and oversight. read more

Don't bother going to any of their offices! Unpleasant staff on the phones, mismanaged appointments, and you'll have to wait months in advance just to get a consult. My problem with this is that I am having a medical issue currently, not 6 months from now. It is a huge part of the system that refers patients to urgent care. I was trying to get an appointment scheduled for chest pain, and they got me in within a couple of weeks and by then my pain was still prevalent. When I got to the appointment my doctor and her entire practice was having computer issues? So I got up at 6am to be there for nothing and then I couldn't get taken care of. When they tried to reschedule me they had to scheduled me twice because they kept getting the location and time wrong... and then blamed it on me, saying "you haven't been seen since 2022." Yep, and there's a reason for that! They make it impossible to be seen! If you need a prescription, get it refilled elsewhere because you will be waiting a long time to get an appointment with OMG. read more

Don't take your child here! We have been patients for over 15 years but not anymore. We were told they do self-pay sport physicals but they could not tell me how much it would cost (we were paying cash) and their "billing department" did not have that information either. How can you provide a service and not know how much it is going to cost the patient? Not even an estimate? They did tell me that it would be a $100 minimum up front cost. We went to the appt which we waited 2 weeks to attend. We paid the $100 fee and after waiting for 30 minutes IN THE EXAM ROOM to see the Doctor we were told that Dr. Rolanda Everett (Pediatrician) refused to do the exam. We were told she could do a "well check" exam which was a $450+ out of pocket since they did not take our insurance. I was clear I just needed a sports physical ( a quick physical) for my son not a well check exam and they refused to see us. Oregon Medical Group can no longer provide basic patient care. They have been so outsourced they are unable to do what is best for the patient. The fact that scheduling a simple physical was such a disaster and waste of time and money proves this organization is failing in several areas and at the expensive of the patients read more

I've been a patient of Oregon Medical Group for 5+ years. My doctors and nurses have been great, and it pains me to consider switching providers, but their billing department has made multiple errors in the past three years to the tune of ~$800 in charges. In the first case, I consulted with their Patient Accounts rep to determine the cost of treatment before a procedure. She informed me it would be 100% covered by my insurance as a preventative measure. Instead, a month later I received a $300+ bill, after my insurance covered nothing. In the second instance, I called my PCP's office at Oregon Medical Group to make sure my insurance was sent the referral they required (for a specialist). Oregon Medical Group insurance/billing failed to submit the referral. When I called back to inquire (again) why it hadn't been sent, they claimed my insurance didn't actually require it. I called my insurance directly to verify, who said they would COVER NOTHING without the referral in hand. I had to make a THIRD call to Oregon Medical Group, who griped again about it "not being necessary" but finally sent it. Had I not made three (three!) phone calls to OMG about this, I would have been on the hook for another $300+ bill from them. Finally, my insurance has been double-billed for pathology--once from the OMG clinic I went to, and once from the actual pathologists office, for the same analysis of the same samples. After being on hold for 15 min, I was told by billing "Only your doctor can explain this," transferred, on hold for another 5 min, then told by my doctor "Only billing can explain this," transferred again (on hold for another 10 min), only to be told AGAIN by billing "Only your doctor can explain this." It seems ridiculous to switch clinics when you love your providers, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. read more

My husband has very high blood pressure that he struggles to keep under control along with other medical issues. Oregon medical group randomly chooses not to respond to pharmacies asking to refill non-opioid non-addictive drugs such as blood pressure medicine. Today 3 days after he ran out and the pharmacy called and asked the doctor to refill the prescription he still has no prescription. I do not know why he continues with this practice. read more

BEWARE! Oregon Medical Group clearly cares about profit over patients. I came in seeking a primary care doctor as I have been having chronic immune issues, gastrointestinal pain, memory and concentrations problems, chronic fatigue, chronic pain and inflammation in my joints, as well as some unexpected weight fluctuations. I am a Ph.D. physicist and so the mental decline was particularly worrisome as I rely heavily on my cognitive processes for my job. I have been told to just get some more exercise, that I am fat and need to lose weight, that it is all just part of the aging process, and finally that maybe I need to see a psychiatrist. After about a year of gaslighting by the medical staff, I developed shingles, a viral infection of my nervous system. At the same time, I demanded that the doctors test me for auto-immune disorders, and rare diseases and asked them to please take my issues seriously think outside the box. Well, I have just tested positive for Lyme's disease. It's always nice to have to have to tell your doctor how to do their job. Once the positive tests came back in, the doctor straight up lied to me and told me they cannot do any of the follow up tests ANYWHERE in town except Peace Health hospital and tried to shlep me off to another facility. They gave me a referral to infectious disease that will probably take months for me to get the appointments I need for treatment and further testing. This information is not true as I was able to schedule the tests at Quest the next day. Apparently the risk of meningitis and encephalitis is of no concern to the doctors whose care I am in. The doctor prescribed me medication for the shingles pain that I am allergic to. When I started asking questions about my medications she got annoyed with me and actually tuned off my ability to message her through MyChart! When you come in for a visit, they charge your insurance for a 45 minute visit while the most time you spend with a doctor 5 minutes or less and the doctors who see you are always doing everything they can to get you out of that room as quickly as possible. They don't answer any of your questions, it's unclear if they even can, and they do not ask you any probing questions about your conditions or symptoms. I could go on and on, but let's just suffice to say I have filed complaints with the Oregon Medical Board, and have contacted my insurance company to discuss possible insurance fraud. since they were bought out by a health insurance company (united health group) they have gotten exceedingly worse. when the doctor can tell you exactly how many providers left another organization (29 left a large organization in Seattle recently) after being bought by the same company, you have a problem. it takes more than two weeks for orders to be sent to another facility and they don't read the notes fully to understand the situation. the call center medical assistants can be argumentative and absolutely not compassionate whatsoever. they are inconsistent with how they do things in the computer which causes delays in getting the care needed! if one order is scanned in one way, you can bet they will do it differently for the next one. do not seek care here!!!! read more
