From the very first phone call, Chantal was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She responded to my follow-up email promptly and with the same level of care. When I explained my situation, Mike (the owner) personally squeezed me into his already busy schedule for the very next day -- even driving out of his way to my home in Sandy. The travel fee was more than worth it for the quality of service I received. I had a particularly tough biohazard pet stain (not urine, but still a real challenge). I had already tried cleaning it three times myself with a home carpet shampoo vacuum with zero success. The technicians arrived right on schedule. They were extremely courteous and I asked them to explain the process before they began. The cleaning was thorough as they meticulously went through each vent and the main duct system. As expected there was a slight smell when starting the furnace back up (not dissimilar to how it might smell after being off all summer) but that cleared up quickly. We haven't had them cleaned in the 12 years we've been here (I know, I know...) but I really expected them to be worse. They even replaced the filters on the furnace (I provided them). The pricing was reasonable and comparable to similar services. It took about 3 hours for a 3k sq ft house. We also had them clean out the dryer vent.

Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

I explained the problem and my concerns briefly, and after consulting with an electrician, I was given an approximate time to expect an electrician the following day. The electrician called thirty minutes before the scheduled time, informed me he would be at my house in about a half-hour. He arrived, took off his shoes without having to be asked, given the current Coronavirus restrictions, he was already wearing a mask. The electrician was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and efficient. I explained my concerns and he listened attentively, asking questions and told me what he would do to investigate the suspected problem. He welcomed me to observe and explained patiently and thoroughly what he was doing at each step, and thoroughly eliminated the possibility the problem was with the electrical system in my house. I HIGHLY and ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend OMNI Electrical for any household electrical need. I have used them in the past and will definitely use them again.
