Waitress was super attentive and kind. Food was delicious and service was fast. Cool set up for restaurant.

This was a really good visit. The thing that really made it extra special was the service we received. I rarely start with "service", but it was great, so I'll start there. *Service: The hostess who sat us was very friendly and personable. Our server was Lily and wow, what an incredibly genuine, naturally caring, attentive, sincere server. She checked in on us regularly, but not overwhelmingly, kept reassuring us there was no rush and encouraged us to relax, take our time, and have fun. She was fantastic, could not have asked for more. *Food: The food was very good overall. And the $5 draught happy hour beers were perfect as they were served in frozen glasses that break off thin slabs of ice inside the glass as you drink, ice cold, refreshing, delicious. We started with fried calamari and loved that it was cut in thick strips rather than small rings. The larger pieces gave a nice mouth feel and fuller taste than just little rings of deep fried batter. The marinara dipping sauce was alright, pretty bland and uninspired but did the job. My chicken parm was very good. The two large, thick, moist and juicy fried chicken pieces were very good, and covered in a yummy thick layer of cheese. The linguini was cooked al dente which was good. This was no homemade pasta, but it was good and heavy and lightly chewy. The marina sauce was pretty basic, pretty sure it was the same as what came with the calamari. One buddy got things and they looked delicious, big and meaty and saucy with a side of homemade chips. The Alfredo The Dark pasta was excellent. Chewy spiral pasta with lightly spicy poblano cream sauce, yummm! *Ambiance: this is a very comfortable place, it was surprisingly busy/packed for a Thursday night. It would be easy to hang out here for a few hours, which we did, because while it gets busy, it feels comfortable, almost like being at home with a bunch of people over, not overly packed in, tables spaced just far enough apart to give a little privacy, but still feel like you're part of the experience. By the time we left, every table was taken, and there was a short wait, that typically says good things about a restaurant. *Value: though not tons of happy hour offerings, the one's they have are good, mostly drinks and three food items. The menu has far more offerings than they used to, which is really nice. Prices are pretty reasonable for the size of the dishes. They are hefty, I love a place that serves big quantities. *Overall: this was my favorite experience at Oregano's since I've been going there for probably 25 years. The others were not bad, they just weren't remarkable. I had never been to this location before. If they're all like this now, I'll definitely go back and definitely recommend it. I was stuffed and didn't get the Pizookie (pizza cookie), I remember LOVING it!

Came here to celebrate my grandparents anniversary because it is their favorite restaurant and as always, did not disappoint. Oregano's delivered big time on the pizza. We ordered one (okay, maybe more than one) and it was everything you want -- you can tell they don't skimp on quality. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and the staff made us feel right at home. If you're craving real-deal comfort food, Oregano's hits the spot. Pizza lovers -- this one's for you.

Stopped by Oregano's in Mesa and had to try their famous Big Rig Pasta -- and wow, it did not disappoint. It's the perfect mix of creamy, spicy, and comforting. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the rigatoni was cooked just right. We added chicken, and it made the whole dish even more filling. The service is great despite it being busy, and ambiance was super welcoming and gave off an Italian vibe. Portions are generous, so definitely come hungry or be ready for leftovers (which taste just as good the next day). Oregano's never misses when you want bold flavors and big portions. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu -- but the Big Rig might be hard to beat!

First of all our server Jake was awesome! There are plenty of food and beverage items to choose from, and the pricing is very reasonable. Everything we ordered came out fresh and hot and tasted great!

It had been along time but Oreganos can still belt out some good food at a great price. The fried zucchini was lightly breaded and not full of grease and the ranch was good. I had the Big Beef Sandwich which was good, right amount of cheese and the meat was delicious. My boyfriend got the Hakuna Piccata and the chicken was also great and the breading was just right and chicken was moist. Our server Jake was great, fast and efficient and very accommodating. Great place to take a family!

The plates left on our table as we were leaving. We were there over an hour. Please pre-bus!

Went for lunch today with my Son's. One son asked which pasta came on the Cajun chicken dish (its not listed) our server, Diamond said Fettucini. The dish came out with penne. He sent it back (now he has to wait for a new dish as we are all eating) I asked for 3 extra plates as we were sharing, never came. We asked the food runner who brought tiny app plates, (one which was dirty). I also asked for extra dressing for my salad, which never came until I asked a 2nd time. Our water was never refilled until asked. Most of this could have been over looked, but what really bothered me, was that no plates were ever taken off our table ( no pre bussing what so ever) not even the appetizer dishes. This bothered me to write this review. Oregano's, teach your staff better. Even the mess up wasn't even really addressed. Im a 20-30% tipper and was in the restaurant business for over 20 years. This was a mediocre experience. We have rated the service a 5/10. The food was a 8-9.

Dined in here yesterday and had a good experience! Seated right away, friendly service and good portion sizes. The atmosphere was fun and the restaurant was pretty fully which is always a good sign. They gave our kids little balls of dough to play with at the table which helped a lot!

A pleasant Italian chain serving massive portions that would appease families and larger parties. However, instead of my intended quick lunch, I spent twice as long as I hope despite being seated at the front. My group was seated immediately and our orders were quickly taken. Highly recommend ordering something to share as my pasta dish could have easily fed me for three meals. Our drinks and dessert came out quickly but the entrees took 40 minutes to arrive. =ORDERED= *Lemonade: on the syrupy sweet side but the glass was massive. I would stick to a classic beverage next time. *Aunt Margherita Pizza: strangely tasted like soap. The tomatoes weren't cooked through and were still firm. I liked the generous amount of basil but it couldn't save the bland sauce and crust. *Ragin Cajun Chicken Pasta: huge portion for the price. This dish could be easily split between 3 people. The chicken was plentiful and tender. The pico de gallo felt a bit strange atop hot mushrooms and peppers and I would have preferred the dish without it. The pasta was soft and the sauce was savory and not overly spicy. *Pizza Cookie: better than BJ's Pizookie. The 1/2 pound cookie was gooey, warm and chocolatey. The vanilla ice cream wasn't special but I loved the ratio of scoops to cookie. Although I was recommended the pizza, I enjoyed the pasta and dessert more. The prices were great for the portions and the quality was sufficient. The overall experience would be better if I didn't have to wait so long so don't come starving. Come for the pizza but actually stay for the cookie.

I came across a list that had the best small chain restaurants in each state. For Arizona, it was Oregano's. After looking them up online, I thought the closest one to our hotel would be the one in Tempe. Turns out I was wrong. While we were in town, my husband discovered that there was one in Mesa and very near our hotel. How convenient! We came here for an early dinner along with our son-in-law and three grandsons. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated. The host stand is unique---it's an old console radio like what was common in the 30s. I took a photo of it but, unfortunately, it didn't come out. The vibe is one of the Rat Pack era with background music featuring singers such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The decor was made to feel as if it was set in the 40s and 50s. Our server came along shortly after we were seated to take our drink orders. We got soft drinks except for my husband who got a beer. We started off with a shareable appetizer and chose "Italian fried zucchini" which consists of "These skinny zucchinis are lightly battered and fried to a golden perfection. Served with a side of ranch for your dipping pleasure." We were pleasantly surprised with this side. The zucchini was fried to "golden perfection" and the batter adhered nicely to the zucchini. Many times this dish in other places, ends up with zucchini that slides right out of the batter while taking a bite...but not here! Three of us ordered the "bollo pasta" which is spaghetti in a bowl. I got mine with marinara sauce. My husband got his with meat sauce, while one of our grandsons got his with two meatballs. This dish is "all you can eat" but we were all full after one serving. It comes with a piece of garlic bread. The only thing my husband and I wished was different---the sauce was thick and chunky, which we didn't mind but there wasn't enough of it in our bowls. The garlic bread is quite tasty---generously buttered with distinct garlic flavor. One of our grandsons got the "zany ziti" which consists of: "Penne pasta, meat sauce and four Italian cheeses. Topped with Wisconsin cheese, baked to perfection and sprinkled with oregano". He really enjoyed it and none of it was wasted. Another grandson got the "big meatball sub" which consists of: "Three homemade meatballs nestled in an Italian roll, topped with marinara and provolone, then baked" He got Italian fried potatoes as a side. He, too, enjoyed his dish. Our son-in-law got "Italian flag lasagna" which consists of: "Pasta stuffed with our meat sauce, spinach, Italian cheeses and topped with marinara, then baked to perfection". For a starter, he also got a Caesar salad. It was a lot of food and he ended up taking some home with him but he had no regrets ordering it. Oregano's has something for everybody---main courses, pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads and pizzas. Also, there is a kid's menu. We certainly would consider a return visit during a future visit to AZ!

Woke up late. Tummy's growling. Pizza and cheesecake on my mind. Oregano's is just a few minutes from my place. It was a perfect place for an Italian brunch. I ordered a pizza and a salad. The pizza was flavorful with a perfectly crispy crust and topped with mushroom slices. The Julius Caesar salad was fresh, with shaved and shredded Parmesan combined with their special dressing and homemade croutons. The lemonade was refreshing and complemented the meal wonderfully. Of course, I had to try their famous Grandma G's classic cheesecake. It was a huge slice of creamy, old-fashioned cheesecake, perfectly dusted with real graham cracker crumbles. The portion was enormous, and every bite was a delightful treat. I greatly commend Oregano's for their generous portions, which really makes this place a fantastic spot to satisfy your cravings. They also offer gluten free in their menu. The traditional family feel of the restaurant's ambiance creates nostalgia, plus their effort to decorate their restroom with vinyl records and 50's music. I was glad I got seated before the waiting line grew long. I look forward to dine here again and try their other pizza flavors and savory pasta.

The portions are gigantic and the restaurant had a 30 minute wait. I sat at the bar top-- which served the full menu. I decided on the breaded toasted ravioli-- it was okay. I wanted the Grandma G's Classic Cheesecake. It was also huge. I ate half of my cheesecake and will have the rest with coffee at breakfast

Ultimately I chose the Mesa store because it was the original and I wanted to see Mesa. We started with a basic garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was great. The calamari was tempting but we'll save that for next time. Wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I ordered the usual Chicken Parmesan which came with a side of pasta. It was actually a harder choice than usual because I walked thru the restaurant before I ordered and so many dishes looked good, as did the pizza. But I went with the usual. Let's start with the wife, which truly speaks to the five stars because she frankly doesn't love Italian food. She eats it when I beg. And she loved it. She actually proactively mentioned she wanted to go back. That's like 7 stars right there it's so abnormal. I agree with her. The chicken parm was fantastic. Amazing. To top it off, our server was great and when I mentioned we were new to the area and it was our first trip she was so nice telling us the history of the original and the other stores, and the manager later stopped by to continue that conversation as the server told her we were new. I mentioned that I live closer to the Scottsdale store, and she said it's the same food and I'll like it just as much. I'll have a hard time deciding which shop to return to - it might be worth the drive to the original just for the ambiance, but I'll give the other a try soon because it was just that good! 5 stars. Or 7 if you ask my wife.

I ended up swapping the…read morebreaded chicken that normally comes with the meal for grilled chicken to avoid the oils from frying. I also subbed the sunrise sauce in and it was so delicious. My only complaint was the portion size for the price. Normally I would get to chicken pieces and have leftover chicken. I remember normally going in and being able to split this dish with my husband, but this time it came with one piece of chicken. This was a little disappointed for the price point and hoping to get more protein. The other really annoying part when dining at Vito's is parking. I circled around twice including the parking lot by the car wash and State Farm and called Vito's asking for advice where to park and was told Walgreens across the street due to a big party they were having in the basement. Lastly, Vito's has a happy hour menu, the discount used to be better in the past so lately I haven't ordered from it. However, the frustrating part is in the summer the only way to benefit from them is to sit outside on the patio. I wish they allowed for seating for happy hour specials during hot summer months to be inside as well.

The pies themselves were good size for one to two people and had lots of toppings. The carnitas was the standout and what I would go back for. Neither the pepperoni and sausage or cheese were memorable, but hit the spot nonetheless. My wife and I decided to escape the heat and house and go to Happy Hour…read more We sat at the bar since there was no one there and the day shift bartender was so friendly. After enjoying a drink we settled on the Italian fries, which are addictive they come parm, truffle, parsley and a special aioli served hot it's just incredibly good. Each ordered our own pizza, my wife the pepperoni and I the Margarita done Napoletana style. They were amazing, dough was soft, easy chew, sauces were incredible. We both agreed this place has moved to near the top of pizza places in NE Mesa. What is incredible is no one was there, we had the whole place to ourselves, which we couldn't believe no one was there for a happy hour on a Friday. We will be back soon, you should try it, well worth it.

The pancakes with bacon cooked right into them were such a fun twist and tasted amazing. The green chili bowl had great flavor with a nice kick, but it wasn't overly spicy. I added bacon to mine and it was really good. But honestly, the star of the show was the side of apple butter. It was so delicious it almost tasted like dessert! If you haven't tried their new breakfast yet, it's definitely worth checking out! The prices are really affordable too.

We went to Crave last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday. When we were seated, I let our…read moreserver know it was a special occasion. She immediately told us the kitchen would be closing in 10 minutes (we arrived at 7:19 and they close at 8), which already made the experience feel a bit rushed. We ordered a deep dish pepperoni and sausage pizza, a Caesar salad, fries, and water. The salad and fries came out quickly and were good, but we waited until 7:52 for the pizza. During that time, several staff members including what seemed to be a manager, were loudly yelling back and forth across the restaurant about staffing and schedules. With no music or TV volume, it was impossible not to hear, and it felt very unprofessional. Meanwhile, our water glasses sat empty. I had to ask three separate times for refills, and the third time I actually had to get up and find our server at the bar, where she was sitting, still discussing the schedule. When the pizza finally arrived, it was delicious. But basic things like Parmesan and pepper weren't offered. I had to flag someone down to ask. And even though we'd just received our food, the lights on the patio were turned off while we were eating, and we were brought a box very quickly, which felt like a not-so-subtle hint to leave. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service and atmosphere really took away from what should have been a nice birthday dinner for my daughter. Very disappointing experience.

Best pizza in the Valley by far!! My husband (from New Jersey) has said multiple times that Sal's…read morehas the only pizza in Phoenix that's good - he has high standards, but I agree with him that the best pizza is at Sal's. He usually gets a plain pie (pizza with cheese), which he says is great, and I have had several different kinds of pizza during our visits to Sal's and each one has been amazing - plus, they have garlic powder at each of the tables. The calamari and tiramisu are also fantastic!! The service is always great - our servers are consistently friendly and helpful. The place is super cute and homey and can accommodate both big and small parties. It's a good thing that Sal's is 20 minutes from us, or else we would probably be here at least 3 times a week, something that would do considerable damage to both of our waistlines.

Today I ordered a pepperoni and pineapple slice, and the toppings were literally just laid on top in the center. They didn't add any extra cheese to help it melt together or make it fresh. It's like they take an old slice, throw new toppings on it, and call it good. They didn't used to do this. They used to add cheese, heat it properly, and the slices were actually good. Unfortunately, the last four or five times I've ordered a slice, it's been disappointing every time. Literally the last two slices I've gotten I took one bite, and just threw it in the trash!
