So I was super excited to try Orda. The restaurant prior to Orda was called Silk Road with same type of food. I was so sad when Silk Road closed down, their food was amazing. Then I found a post on IG about Orda and was super excited to try especially since I was missing the previous restaurant so much!
They have a location in Oakville and one in Mississauga. The Mississauga is a bigger location and we were in the area so decided to visit Orda.
Ambiance wise it was beautiful inside. They did an amazing job on the renovations. The restaurant was a lot smaller than what it was before, I think they expanded the kitchen.
I gave them 2 stars for the decor and the service. Excellent service, but that's where it ends.
For food we ordered 2 bowls of lamb noodle soup between 3 of us. The portion was very generous but the price also double what Silk Road was charging for pretty much everything on the menu. I don't mind paying for good food however it was not that great. The broth had no taste. The noodles were mushy and not chewy at all. My daughter pointed out it tasted like the noodles were old and not fresh. We got 2 orders of lamb skewers for $20 for 3 skewers!! It was so dry and not flavourful at all, so disappointed. We got the lamb leg pilaf, The lamb leg was dried and tasteless no flavour, I think they just steamed the leg. The rice was so dry to the point where I felt like it was overcooked leftover rice, also no flavour.
All in all the food was so underwhelming and I'm super disappointed. We paid $150 total for the 3 of us and I was not happy at all. Will not be coming back unfortunately. read more
