Always yummy. However I wish the heat scale would be consistent. Ordered Medium heat, was not hot at all. Last time I ordered it was perfect heat. Seems w each cook the heat is different. Service is always good and attentive. They just revamped the decor inside. Kinda busy

Green curry chicken - not green at all & awful unknown odor

First time here, takeout order includes: chicken basil fried rice, chicken green curry, beef pad kee mao (drunken noodles), and an order of sticky rice. Took about 15 mins, hot, portion sizes are bigger than other places but so is the price. Came this evening around 910pm and there's several ppl at the bar which looked nice, restaurant looked nice too. Food: the green curry is like not green at all, resembles the color of Tom Kha, then the smell was AWFUL. It smelled like a fart to be honest. No clue what that's from at all. Didn't smell like curry at all or coconut. I have no clue what it's diluted with or why it's not green. I went ahead and tried it bc my MIL said it was good and it didn't taste like curry either. Unfortunate. The pad kee mao beef (drunken noodles) looked more like pad see ew and had no spice to it at all even tho we ordered mild. Really lacks flavor in addition to having no spice, with an excessive amount of grease/oil Basil fried rice chicken very bland too. Even when you eat a bite of basil, it doesn't taste like basil. Missing flavors of seasoning sauce too. I'm super bummed bc this was for my man's bday dinner with his family and I did not enjoy it plus this was 67$. These are basic dishes we always order from other Thai spots that have never disappointed. I had this spot on my bookmarks for over a yr too. Rum Thai and Pinto Thai are so fire so there'd literally be no reason for me to ever return. Not eating Thai leftovers is insane for me to say. Esp bc I JUST got back from Thailand this week.

Always love orchid. I've been here many times with friends and always have had a wonderful experience. I love the papaya salad and pad Thai dishes. I also love getting the lantern lemonade to drink. We love coming here on nights out because it's close to our favorite bar and the food is delicious. Service is always excellent and the ambiance is inviting.

This was my nephew's choice for his birthday dinner last night and I had never been here before. It is located in the shopping center where Urbanos and Silino is. I liked that it was wide and open so it is easy to see where people are. We arrived first and they set up our table for ten while we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. Each person ordered their own entree but I partnered with my sister and hubs to do some sharing of Pad Thai, crab fried rice, and happy chicken which was a sweet stir fry with veggies. Added a side of sticky rice that was a brick and not really edible. Everything else was fresh and delicious! Portions were good for $20 and I ended taking enough home for another meal. My only complaint was how far staggered our meals were served in our group. By the time the first person was half finished, the last entree arrived. Luckily, they noticed when eight of us were happily eating when two were sitting there with empty spots and checked on the order. What impressed me the most was the service! Our waitress was very kind and patient and helped my indecisive sister with the menu. They kept our drinks filled and cleared away the dishes without asking. Then they saw the cake and candles we brought and offered to set that up for us. They took it out of the box, placed the candles, lit them and put it in front of the birthday boy. It was a very nice gesture! I left very satisfied and happy with my experience. That's how you do 5 stars! well done folks. I will be back.

This is the spot to go for Thai food in Rocklin! I am a huge fan of Thai food and everything I've tried here has been so flavorful and exceeded my expectations. Their curry was maybe some of the best I have had. The mango sticky rice was so good and a definite must try too. The portions here are all great, as a group of 6, just 3 dishes filled us all up. My only complaint with the food is that rice doesn't automatically come with the curry which I think it always should. The service here is always very good and they tend to get busy but their takeout service is great too.

I was in the Lincoln area during Lunch time and Yelp sent me a suggestion to try Orchid. I decided why not it was lunch time anyways. Bou, was I glad I tried. It was a lovely dining experience . The ambiance was not a bland Hall with a few tables. It was a grand lovely place with beautiful tropical wall decor and an absolutely lovely center piece. I was seated in a booth with a bamboo view. I chose an old fav drunken noodles. King Kong chicken was interesting. All the old favorites are there. Menu is pretty much a standardized menu. The place stands out because of service and exquisite ambiance.

A beautifully decorated restaurant with vaulted ceilings, Thai decor and statues, abundant indoor dining and a lovely patio. Excellent menu featuring Thai cuisine, all the favorites such as drunken noodles, pad Thai, and red, green and yellow curries. Plenty of vegetarian options. Healthy, veggie rich dishes, salads, spring rolls. Great cocktails and a nice bar area as well. Service is always great. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a great spot for lunch or dinner if you are craving Thai! I recommend the Drunken Noodles, Red Curry, and Tom Kha soup.

The food was absolutely amazing. They had vegan options, which was nice because a lot of my friends are vegan. The service was great super attentive waiters and always asking if we needed anything. The vibe in the place was so warm and welcoming they had live music, which was different from other restaurants but enjoyed all of it.

We stopped in for dinner before a concert at Thunder Valley.. The food was delicious, only issue we had was one of chicken wings wasn't cooked properly.. the staff quickly took care of the problem! Great customer service and we definitely enjoyed the live music...

Pad Thai (lunch)
Jed M.

Ate at Orchid Thai during lunch for a work trip. While it was a great value and lunch menu, I personally found myself generally disappointed with at least this experience of the Pad Thai. I ordered the lunch pad thai with chicken and medium spice ($15.95). To me, it just seemed very bland in general flavor and spice. It seemed like flavor was not developed. Medium spice did not seem to reflect any spice. Portion size was huge! Big bowl- not plate of Pad Thai. The restaurant atmosphere was great- beautifully decorated, chill music, extremely spacious. Service was grand- we had a group of 8 and received timely and attentive service.

I headed over and arrived nearly to the minute. The order wasn't quite ready, which is unusual, but no problem as it only too approx. 10 more minutes, and I was not in a rush. This time I had a difficult time deciding on an appetizer, and opted for the Crab and Cream cheese Wontons, which comes with a nice sweet and sour sauce. They were good, crunchy and the filling delicious. Eggplant dishes are a favorite so I chose the Pad Eggplant w/pork. It was flavorful and very well prepared with just enough sauce. The Pad Kee Noodles (Drunken Noodles) were fantastic as always although I found the chicken selection somewhat chewy. My all time favorite, the Pineapple Fried Rice was right on target and super good. The past couple of times the flavor and amount of pineapple had diminished some, but this was back to awesome status. Usually I get one of the larger salads too, but this time opted for a smaller Cucumber Salad which was perfect. Fresh with an excellent variety of veggies to really compliment the meal off well. I got medium spice for nearly everthing. It was fine for me although quite apparent. I worried about Ed as he's more sensitive. He didn't mention it so I guess it passed the test for both of our spiciness levels. I really recommend this place and although prices can seem high the quality and quantity matches the value.

The location in Loomis is a little off the beaten path (you think you are leaving town), and in a super small strip mall. Step inside and you find a cute little family owned restaurant that will make you wonder "where did I just get transported to?"... A few tables in the front room and a second dining area to the right. It is important to note that you MUST be patient! There is only the owner running the front of house here. She is doing everything. Super friendly, and being as quick as she can to get tables cleared, people seated, orders taken and served. She does all of this with the most wonderful smile and personality. You will immediately fall in love with her. Many of the diners on this particular night already knew her and appeared to have long standing relationships with the family. We came in on a Saturday evening around 5:15pm and the floor was packed. It remained that way until around 6:30pm. I would suggest coming in later in the evening so the 'regulars' can get in and out. Ok, so now on to the food and why the Green Elephant is such a standout. Everything is super fresh, and flavorful with great depth in the sauces. We started with the tea leaf salad, and pork lumpia. Then Panang chicken and spicy garlic pepper pork and an order of rice. We love spicy food, and requested such (she has a spice scale of 1-10). Our mains were a level 7 and that was sufficient to give us good heat without compromising the flavors. She will also bring you a small dish of chili pepper oil if you want even more heat. By the time we were finished, the floor had cleared, so we know now to arrive a little later. But, return we will !!!

The owner cooks everything himself, while his wife warmly takes orders -- a beautiful, old-school partnership that instantly makes you feel welcome. The interiors are cozy and thoughtfully done, creating a calm, inviting atmosphere. The food is exquisite, clearly made with care and experience -- flavors that stay with you long after the meal. Yes, there can be long wait times, but it's absolutely worth it. This is not fast food; it's food made with heart. A place that reminds you why small, family-run restaurants are so special Highly recommended if you're in Loomis and don't mind slowing down for something truly memorable.

After being seated, the food arrived in a timely manner. There was however an issue with one plate we had ordered that did not come (we ended up cancelling it). The food itself? The presentation was great. There was however no consensus on the enjoyment of the multiple dishes. A big mix of meh/okay/good. I think a lot of it had to do with any dishes with chicken - the chicken in a few dishes were a tad bit too dry. We requested for all dishes to be mild (just in case), and one of the dishes was extremely spicy for some of the party. Overall, I'd like to give this location another shot solo - some dishes just taste better with different types of protein (for me).

It was a lot of food, but I've learned House of Thai Rice & Noodle is best enjoyed family style where you get to enjoy a few things. The pricing is very reasonable for the portions and the flavor on the dishes is so good! I don't know what they do with their Chow Fun, but the noodles were so flavorful, soft and fluffy and didn't need any extra sauce. The Tom Kha soup is a comfort food for me and this is always a great option. I forgot to order rice with my curry, but eating it like a soup is equally satisfying. The Kao Soy was flavorful and the noodles were great with the broth and toppings. I've dined in and gotten take out and both are great experiences. The team here is so friendly and welcoming. I've tried a lot of spots around here since I work nearby, and this has been on my list for a while because of how highly it's regarded. It was busy at lunchtime, but we were seated immediately and brought iced waters. The menu is huge with a lot of great classic options. We ordered the angel wings (personal favorite), pad see ew with fried tofu, and red curry with fried tofu and rice. Everything came out very quickly and was nicely plated. The curry had a great mix of vegetables, always love the tender eggplant the most, and it was rich, but not overly heavy, with great flavor. The pad see ew was also delicious, smokey, and had a nice mix of cabbage and broccoli, which I've never seen before but actually really liked. It was nice getting something other than just straight noodles. Angel wings are a longtime favorite and brought me right back to childhood dinners at Thai restaurants with my family. Not every spot has them, so I had to order them when I saw them on the menu. They were delicious, just how I remembered, and plated nicely with a light, flavorful sauce. The food overall was excellent and service was attentive. My only note is I should've asked for spice. I think they assumed we didn't want any heat, which is probably typical for most people, but I definitely prefer some spice in my Thai food and I appreciate when they ask. We were also two people at a six-person table since that's all that was available, so felt a little bad about that. Toward the end, they sat a single diner with us, which was a bit awkward to be honest, but luckily we were finishing up. Overall really good experience. Just remember to ask for spice if you want it, and maybe consider takeout if it's busy and don't want to share a table.
