I LOVE this place! We have two cats and a dog and there isn't anything I can't get here. We use a premium dog & cat food and they always have it in stock. Recently we had to change our older cat to a senior blend that they didn't carry and they were more than happy to bring it in for us. We usually take our dog in with us. She's a little people shy but the employees here always have a treat and a pet for her. She now actually looks for them behind the counter! LOL Great customer service, excellent product selection and I get to buy from a locally owned, small business too! read more

Hubbs and I have been here a few times prepping for puppy and multiple times after puppy came! People are always buzzing around making sure to greet you as you come in and check on you if you look lost. We recently bought a bag of dog food that we had for a few weeks and noticed that pupp didn't like it as much as another food brand that he ate. When we went to take it back to our surprise they took the whole bag (even opened) and refunded us 100%. Amazing customer service! Prices are decently good as well. We found a few things here that are normally hard to find. read more

I've been going to this quaint little feed-store for years. Recently, they have moved out of their historic building (circa 1889) and built a nice building with ample space right next door. The new facility boasts lots of light, space to display many new products and an outside greenhouse. The customer service is very down-home and friendly. You just can't find this kind of business anymore, it's a joy to do my shopping and support this growing local business. read more

Orchards Feed - This hard to find gluten-free and grain free dog food is available at Orchards feed! - Pet Stores Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

For those that have grown up here the old Orchards Feed Mill is a staple business. They have a fabulous new building, and yard area for the nursery, and much more selection inside than what they were able to provide in the old building. All supplies for animals, and for gardening and for heavier garden/landscape work that any DIY'er could need, as well as any small landscape or yard maintenance company. They are a Stihl dealer location, which is also very helpful to be able to bring my chainsaws and other equipment in if needed, or to just get replacement parts when necessary. The people are helpful and patient, and have all been very friendly. read more

I have been getting my Chicken feed and pine shavings from this store for about 3 months, I have to say that it's such an amazing, clean place! I love the variety of everything they carry, the only problem I have with it is that the big 40-50 pound chicken feed prices are not on the shelfs so you can't stand there and decide you have to ask them at the counter and be rushed to decide. Also some lady worker in there needs an attitude check! That's the only problem, the customer service isn't so great. But I will defiantly keep going there because their variety is pretty good compared to Wilco. read more

Orchards Feed - They have very adorable bunts upstairs all the time!! This picture was from today, go adopt one! - Pet Stores Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

Rene in outside garden is a blessing. We were prepared to buy several hundreds of dollars of landscaping and she kept it honest. Informed us on every tree and Bush we were buying. With the honesty, she lost a couple of trees sale, however she gained a lifelong business relationship with us moving forward. We bought 2 trees and a couple of bushes that are a third of the cost at a competitor. Healthy and beautiful. We will be back for more. Thank you Rene! read more

I love these people! Get your cat litter here!!! 40# for $10!! Yes, it's clumping, no scent, and masks all the odor! Oh and it's pretty dust free! Orchards also has samples of cat and dog food so you don't have to keep bringing back full bags! They are good with returns but why waste food? read more

All of my pet food is significantly cheaper here! Love the frequent buyers program. Almost on my 12th bag for free! Staff is always so nice and helpful. read more

This place is great for most animals. I buy dog food here, they carry some pretty good brands. If you have horses or chickens, or any other farm animals like that, they carry all kinds of foods and supplies. Feed, Hay, Straw, Gates, Troughs, you name it. It is a small place, but everyone is very friendly. I usually carry my dog food selection to the counter and they take it from me and carry it to my car for me! Try getting that at a large pet store. read more

I buy my chicken food here and it's a fast stop. Run in, pay and pull around back where a guy will probably already have you feed ready to load. That's good service and that's why I buy here now instead of the big farm store in Battle Ground. read more

What a fantastic locally owned and operated pet supply! We have been customers for over 15 years and Loren has consistently provided a great experience. The new building is AWESOME, extended hours and the best thing is that they left the old landmark of a building standing! See you soon guys! read more

This place is horrible. I was shopping and this young man, who I think was in charge, was yelling at these girls that were running the registers. He was using such vulgar language, that someone in charge should not be using, extremely unprofessional. Someone should report that to the BBB as a form of harassment. I can't even believe they are still in business with someone running it like that. I feel for the poor people who have to work there! THAT'S ABUSE!!!!! read more

Orchards is a good place for feed. A bit more expensive than the other feed store I go to. Poultry feed is 4.99 for a gallon ( I can get it for 30 cents a pound elsewhere). I came here to buy a feeder, waterer, and feed for my quails. The store is well supplied. We had no problem finding what we needed. My dog loves the rabbit meat stick we bought here. The staff were friendly. I absolutely love the location since it is six minutes from my house. read more

This feed store is amazing! I came in for antibiotics, and walked out with a cool wooden bowl, a dog food carrier, amish corn to pop, and a great mood! Can't wait to find an excuse to go again soon. read more

Best place ever for all my cats needs. The food is better and there are no added by products plus it's less expensive then the big box stores. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I feel confident with thier answers. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for my cats food and treats read more

I only have dogs, cats and a mini lop rabbit but I drive out of my way to come here. I grew up in the Orchards area and remember the original building. That's what brought me in the first time. I've been to Wilco, off 162nd, and it doesn't even have half the customer service as Orchards Feed. The cashiers at Wilco are not knowledgeable. They are young and snotty. At Orchards, everyone has a smile. They come to you and ask if you have questions. I love that I can ask numerous questions and they will take their time and answer each one - they do not rush me. Plus, they know what the hell they are taking about! They have a forever customer with me. WTG management on hiring an awesome team! read more

I needed help with what fertilizer I should use for my roses and how to plant asparagus in my garden and the help I had was wonderful. They even printed stuff for me to take home. read more

I used to come in here every month for dog food and toys/grooming items. They recently raised their price of Taste of the Wild dog food $3. Now it's cheaper to order it online and literally have it shipped right to my door. The customer service is sometimes good and sometimes really bad. One guy did have a ton of knowledge about dog food and explained to me what meal/bi-product was and recommended a food based on activity level and age. But the last time I walked in there, there were 5 employees up front just awkwardly staring at me. Finally after a few seconds a guy greeted me. (I think he is the manager). I would like to keep supporting a local business, but maybe if they got rid of the unfriendly ladies that seem like they don't want to be there, I wouldn't be ordering online. read more

I love this place so much. The whole staff is amazing. Every time I go everyone is so nice. The selection of food/litter/etc is incredible and the prices are great. I find my dogs and cats food here a few dollars cheaper than anywhere else. They have a rewards program where you get a bag of food free if you buy 12 which is so helpful since I buy the good stuff for my fur babies! Staff always asks me if I want help out which is that old school customer service that I totally love. It feels good to support a local business that really deserves the patronage and praise. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

I went here for the first time about a week ago, and the staff was very helpful, and amazing! The prices are better on the dog food than most places, the staff even helps you load your car. I will be back for all of my dogs needs! read more

My experience here was traumatizing. I initially went in to buy some jute for a project I am doing. Found it but decided not to spend my money at this establishment because of what happened. I had my jute in hand headed towards the register. I heard the ducklings chirping so I wanted to take a peak. As I was adoring these sweet adorable babies I noticed one wasn't doing very well. I grew up on a farm so I know what signs to look for. I told my friend to run and grab an employee so he did. He returned by himself. by this time the duckling was struggling so I picked it up trying to gently keep it awake so it wouldn't die. It's breathing was labored. nobody ever came to check on it. As soon as it died in my hands I walked to the front of the store with the duckling. A man was at the register with his back to me so he didn't see me but a younger woman saw us and asked if she could help us. I walked up and said we tried to tell someone about this duckling not doing well but nobody came to help and that it had died in my hands. She said thanks as if this were a strange thing for me to do and took the duckling from my hands. I placed the jute on the counter and left the store irritated and heartbroken that this establishment couldn't have cared less about this little creatures life. I will absolutely recommend nobody go to this heartless branch. read more

Do not waste your time going here if you have small children or any type of question about animal care. First off they do not have carts for a child to sit in, so you are going to have to carry them while you do any shopping. And the staff is rude, unhelpful, misinformed, and very unfriendly. I want to always shop local and small business but when small businesses like orchards have horrible customer service I won't be choosing them anymore. read more

Great small business that treats it's customers well. They must treat their employees well, too, because I see the same great people every time I go in. It's been that way for several years. They can order custom items: my wife wanted some specific length yard fabric staples to hold a drip hose in place, and they were able to get them in just a few days. Forget Wilco, these guys have the same stuff and the money stays in the local economy serving those who serve us. read more

Went in the other day to pick up a couple of pairs of vise grips advertised for $4.99 a pair. Found them on the shelf and they were still priced at the regular price. I took a pair to the front counter to have them check the price. Rang up at regular price. I pulled up the ad on my phone and showed them the advertised price. She first checked if the ad was for their store, it was, The girl ( I don't remember her name) then looked it up on her computer too and that showed the advertised price as well. For some reason though it would only ring up with the regular price. She called another guy over who "could figure this out". He wasn't any help either. Then she thought maybe I need to be a Rewards Member to get the price. I told her I've never had to do that at any other Ace, but I signed up just to see. Of course it didn't help. I asked if they could adjust the price to the advertised price and they couldn't. After a couple of more blank looks from both employees I left. I went to the Ace on 63rd and Hi 99 and walked out with a pair at the advertised price. BTW, there were other tools marked at $4.99 in their ad (clamps, pliers etc) but had the full price marked on the shelf. If they aren't going to honor the advertised price they should say so so others don't waste their time shopping here read more

Visited Orchards Feed Mill for the first time today to pick up some feed corn to make beanbags. Discovered all the good brands of dog kibble that they have. My dogs eat grain free and I do a lot of research regarding good foods for dogs. They have trial samples in the back of most brands which they were kind enough to give me a wide range of brands to try on my dogs before purchasing a big bag....AWESOME!!! Their dog food prices are very comparable to Petsmart and Petco. The people are so helpful and so nice! We will definitely being making this the place where we purchase our dry dogfood! Check it out for yourself!!! read more

Just discovered this place. They have good orchard and local hay, LMF grain, lots of horse stuff, and Mazuri rodent blocks (vegetarian) that are ok for squirrels to eat. read more

What a scam! NO REFUNDS FOR RETURNED ITEMS, ONLY STORE CREDIT OR EXCHANGE. Store manager Tom Hughs says, "many stores have this policy, including Walmart"! What a clown. Don't shop here, go to Ace on 162nd, or Wilco, these stores actually operate in the 21st century. read more

Customer service is OK. Went and bought a bird bath with cash. Next day returned it because it just wasn't right. They said all returns would for "in store credit only". NO I WANT MY CASH BACK. Anyway we did our cash back with them doing this time only. Won't go back. Policies here suck read more

These guys have done a great job of growing a huge business from a small business. I really WANT to like them...however, the advice they give the public on Veterinary medicine is deplorable. I've worked in the industry for almost 20 years...I understand not everybody can afford premium veterinary prices. That said there are MANY better options than buying a vaccine from the feed store and giving it yourself. What a lot of folks don't know is that if you aren't a veterinarian you cannot buy supplies from the manufacturer, you have to get them from a third party, which means no product guarantee, and no guarantee the product was even handled correctly. Then don't even get me started on if the average person can mix it, draw it up and give it properly. The elderly couple he was talking to yesterday had never given a vaccine and I'll bet you anything the one they took home didn't go well either. The guy was explaining things pretty well, but you can't talk somebody through that the first time...I've been training people for years and it takes a couple hands on experiences to be able to draw up and give a vaccine properly. They have a discount Veterinary service that comes to their place several times a month and gives low cost vaccines for people accompanied with a $20 exam. He actually talked them out of it by saying, "The vaccine is only $5.95...if you do it with them you have to pay $20 for them to look at your dog and say, 'yep, that's a dog'" THAT was the final straw for me. A Veterinary exam by somebody with 9+ years of higher education is much more than us pointing out they have a dog. That was the most ignorant and rude advise I have heard anybody give in a long time.... Other things I'd seen in the past that I thought was completely ignorant was a lady came in saying she had a cat with an abscess. The advice is: Take them to Companion Vet clinic...they have a low office call and can get that fixed for you. Instead, Tom pointed out he had a bottle of 200mg or 500mg Amoxicillin capsules and she could take those home and divide them up and give it to the cat. Sigh...The cat dose is less than 50mg per dose. Really no good way to divide up a capsule and give it to the cat and have any idea you were even close on the dosage...That was ignorant advise 10 different ways...And we won't even get started on why he had Amoxicillin capsules at all... It is wicked convenient for me to go to Orchard Feed mill, however after yesterday this is the 4th or 5th time I've heard them give the worst, least educated pet care advise to the public in my life. I do also agree with the previous review that the heavy set owner is NOT a nice guy. Tom is okay but if you irritate him his colors come out as well. These guys are running a nice store that gives incredibly crappy advise. The sad thing is that they think they are totally right and I have no illusions of them changing. All i can do is boycott and hope others do the same. read more

Well talking to them on the phone was pleasant, purchasing was easy because of course they want to sell stuff, returning on the other hand is a totally different experience. I purchased a Siihl produce actually a few Stihl products one I kept one I wanted to return so I went to the store to return it a lo and behold they don't refund to a card or cash, you have to get in store credit, now I expect that if you are spending the kind of money on a Stihl product (and Stihl is not cheap, none of it) that it would be nice to get the money put back on your card. The excuse was that it cost to take it off the card and cost to put it back on, well that is the price of business jerk. So this has taught me 2 lessons, (1. check the return policy at every store before you buy, (2. I will never set foot and/or buy anything from there again (after I spend my in store credit). Stihl should also be ashamed to have their product at this store if they cant insure a refund to a card or cash. Lesson learned. And everyone I know will be warned to not shop there. Go to Parkrose Hardware always a better experience all around. read more

Great place to buy plants. I stumble across them last year for a cute small country style planter. I just went back this weekend and they have sooo many options I didn't know where to stop. Just gorgeous and very convenient - everything looks healthy and alive, like it will actually last! read more
