Wow!! We picked our Australian Shepherd (Pronto) up less than an hour ago. He has never had a professional groom him before. TL:DR - Place is not welcoming and outright scary for doggos & isn't honest about timeframe... otherwise, they looked & smelled good. So, they did a pretty good job on the actual cut, which I was afraid about given their rocky reviews here. But both my fur-babies came out looking & smelling great. There are 2 reasons I knocked off 1 star each. 1 star off - the grooming room was in a dark hall, cramped room. It was scary and loud in there and both my babies were scared to go even near it. It's not welcoming in there with the sounds of vacuums, fans and barking dogs. Now, I understand this is a grooming place, but I've taken my dogs to other groomers that had a setup that was much more welcoming... open spaces, bright and the reception area was quiet and even the room where all the dogs were kept was bright and welcoming... not scary for my fur babies... this was NOT that. I almost walked out straight away due to this environment. 2nd star knocked off - I planned on dropping them off, but because this place is 40 minutes away (1 way), they advised that it would only be a little over 2 hours.... okay! I'll wait then! Nope-- 3.5 hours later and I'm still waiting around. If they were honest about how long they would take, it'd be no big deal-- I can just go about my day and come back when they were ready. read more

I love this little pet store. They're very welcoming friendly and today I talked to the groomer about my German Shepherd that does not like her nails trimmed. They said bring her in. They were very kind to her and loving and they took their time with her and I was more than happy. I will definitely be going back there again for grooming nail trims. read more

I have been coming to this store since my little Sophie was a little pup (2013). I love that the store is so welcoming and inviting to our little furry friends. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help with any questions you may have. I think what I like most is how they treat my mother. My mother is a senior citizen and she pretty much makes this a pit stop since she likes to come over and stay with my Sophie when we are out of town or while I am at work. Quite honestly, she is the one who takes Sophie to have her nails trimmed or grooming. My mother built a rapport with one of the groomers and after they closed down then returned in a minimum capacity, she made room for my mother and would take Sophie. BTW, they usually have a doggy running around which is just too darn cute. Hey is sweet and well mannered. I'd go to "woodin you" pet store across the street. I stopped here over the weekend, I've had good and bad experiences here, but last weekend I was the only one in the store, I walked in and the employee couldn't even look up from her phone to say hi, which was really awkward to be honest... I asked her if they carried a specific brand, and I got a very snobby response. I got back in my car, searched for another pet store and found Woodin you across the street. Literally THE BEST customer service I've ever experienced at a pet store. Save your time (and your feelings) just hop across the street and go to the other pet store. read more

Was horrible with simply clipping my dogs nails, placed my dog back into my vehicle without even letting me know they completely clipped off the whole quick of her nail and was bleeding all over my car. Owner took no responsibility for her staff or what they did to my dog, instead insisted I was lying and was more concerned with the bad rep she was getting from me posting a review. I had to pay to get my car professionally cleaned from all the blood and also a nice vet bill to take my dog to the ER to stop her nail from bleeding. Wouldn't ever trust them with my fur babies and I honestly don't know how they're still in business. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I can't even describe how bad the haircut was they gave my dog- I took in a beautiful dog and she came out looking like she had been attacked by a blunt razor. Seriously the hair was hacked and one ear was shaved to bald, one was fluffy, a giant spot on top of her head was missing hair. I reached out respectfully to the owner to express how shocked I was at the haircut and she responded that my dog was reactive and severely matted, neither of which were true. Completely unprofessional do not take your furbabies there. Update in response: we can play "he said she said" about the condition of my dog's hair all day- she had a few mats as is common with an active playful dog in the spring who is outdoors running around, going on walks and living her best dog life. Her breed's fur can mat suddenly. I am untrained and I have cut mats out and made them look fantastic. I would expect a professional groomer could handle removing a few mats and making the dog look cute again, and that has been our experience at other places. That is not what happened to my dog at Beastie. To refuse to take responsibility for a very unprofessional job and then to blame the owner and worse- the dog - is toxic behavior as a business owner. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! The last two times we've taken our dog into get groomed, the groomer was either walking out due to sickness, or just did not show up for work. No call to let us know (we were not on the schedule despite card with reschedule date). I called to ask if we could get a free groom next time, but we were informed no. No discount either. The owner does not care about her customers and I have a feeling she doesn't care about her groomers either, considering she can't keep one employed. It's a small business and we've tried to frequent them as often as possible, but we're done now. read more

Staff is so beyond helpful! I came here to get information on switching my dogs to a partial raw diet and they took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my crazy questions. The grooming department was beyond my expectations! For $45 my Pom was bathed, full body hair cut, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and anal glands checked. I have paid 2X that for less quality (that always takes almost a full day to finish by the way, beastie took a few hrs at most). On top of everything they were so caring with my boy. I went in today to check out this store, since it's close to home. When I walked in we were never greeted by anyone. The selection of things were okay but they don't have alot of clothes choices for bigger dogs. The staff I encountered were not friendly at all. The lady never asked if I've been there before just assumed and asked for my last name. I let her know that this was my first time and she said okay so walk-in. I still don't know what she meant by any of that. She was too focused on her letters she was sorting at the front counter. I did she the cookie for dogs at the end and was so excited! That's the only reason why I gave you guys an extra star. I do hope your guests see change in friendliness. read more

I have been using a different groomer for the last year for my pooch. They gave her even cuts (although much shorter than I requested), but she always came back to me jumpy, strongly trembling and with a rash that went away in a couple of days each time. They said they used their most gentle shampoo, but some dogs just have such sensitive skin they still react, regardless. Never having had a hair dog before or Poodle, I took their word for it. Although I did ask my vet and she stated that was very possible. Her second visit, she came back to me with visible fleas. We had her in our home, taking her to parks, walking her in the neighborhood regularly and out in our yard daily for over six months and seen not one flea before. The flea hitchhikers snagged a ride on my girl the next two visits (three months between each visit). I would clear my home of fleas and treat my lawn and snapped a flea collar on her, as recommended by her vet. I verified there were no fleas in my home within a week of having her home, as I attacked everything in the house. Each time, within an hour of picking her up, I saw fleas on her back side. Once, I chalk up to could be from elsewhere. Twice, makes me have doubts about the groomer, as they always show up right after taking her there and I eliminated the dog park. The third time, after being sure I had eradicated them at home yet again, I can't help but think it was them. I'm not taking any more chances. So, I looked up other groomers and found this one had good reviews and was willing to book my mutt on a day with no cats in the morning, as I have anaphylactic shock if I touch a single cat hair. It stinks. That was their first plus. Their second plus was that they are not just a groomer, but a great pet store that carries my Orijin red pet food that she eats, along with several grain free, respectably sourced snack products and healthy toys from smaller companies (I like to support smaller companies). Their third plus was a ten percent coupon on their website for first time customers. I was able to apply that to her grooming as we were new to the shop. I arrived to drop her off, and the pluses just kept piling up. The shop is the front of the store and the groomer is in the back. They were very good at listening to what I wanted. Despite Rowan being a poodle mutt, I like more of a terrier, simply trim (basically clean up the feet, face, and tushy). (For a simple cut like this, it was $35 for her being a miniature sized Poodle mix. I also comb her out every other day at home between groomings, keeping her hair in good shape and I'm certain this can make a difference on the cost/work involved.) Then, when I explained that she is a rescue, and I would appreciate them not coddling her when she gets insecure and fearful, but correct the behavior, they were great. The lady grooming a Scotty (I believe) gave her a great, firm "sshhht" correction when she began to panic upon being separated from me. I have worked hard to help her understand that state of mind is not desired and telling her "good girl" when she's insecure and panicky is only going to set back all the progress I made thus far. They were great about that. Lastly, when I picked her up, though she was trembling silently a bit from her typical nervousness in new places/situations (we're still working on that), she was quiet, much more calm than I ever saw her upon pick up at the other place, and even had little green bows in her hair for St. Patty's Day. :-) Less than two minutes later and she was calm and back to her much improved, quiet if cautious self. Her hair is silky and healthy. Her skin is happy, with no rash whatsoever. I have had her home for a couple of hours and no fleas!!! We have a winner. I hope these guys are around for decades as that's how long Rowan will be coming back. My only regret is not trying them first. read more

I am new to the area and my little cocker spaniel was looking pretty shaggy. He and I were driving back after going for a walk on the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail and as we were stopped at a light I noticed a man holding a sign that said "End Pet Nudity". It was an advertisement for Beastie Boutique. I will admit that their clever gimmick worked on me because it made their name stick in my mind. I called them up and I scheduled an appointment for Tucker to get his hair cut. For $55.00 he came out looking like a beautiful show dog. They even clipped his nails and expressed his anal glands (poor little guy!). As I was paying for his haircut, I just happened to look behind me and I caught him urinating on a stack of shopping baskets. The clerk was very kind about it and said to not worry about it. Needless to say I was pretty embarrassed by his shenanigans. The staff were wonderful to work with. They even brought in their own dogs while they were cutting hair. It was a great environment and I look forward to returning with my pooch the next time he starts to look like a shaggy Teddy Roxbury. read more

We have appreciated having a complete (everything mixed in already) raw food diet available for easy pick up. They are so helpful and even keep my rebate recites for me on file until I have enough to turn in! They help me carry heavy loads to my car. They are true animal lovers and it shows. Today was my second visit and they do a very nice job. But one thing I do need to mention. I failed to have cash to give gratuity so I asked at the register if we could add it on our credit card receipt and she said no but if it was debit there's a little fee and we can do cashback. I explained that we use our visa card exclusively so that we get our reward points etc. She looked at me and said, "You know we pay for that don't you?" - politely I responded yes and then she told me something about the banks changing the laws because it was allowing people to double dip or something like that. What I really wanted to say is then do not accept Visa or MasterCard or any credit cards for that matter. I've decided I will not return because I don't appreciate the way she spoke to me and will not return. read more

I'll begin by stating that I am only reviewing the grooming section, as I have not shopped at the store. I have an 8 lb rescue Maltese who had absolutely horrible matting on her stomach from wearing her harness, bald patches (from a skin infection when she was a stray), and a section of her back was shaved a few months ago for surgery. Needless to say, she looked pretty ratty. I called the Beastie Boutique and was able to get an appointment the next day!! They shaved my doggie's hair to the same length as the hair that had been cut for her surgery so she was even all over. They were able to shave off all the mats on her stomach too. I was surprised they even cleaned her ears and cut her nails. All this for only $55!! My doggie looks so cute and clean, and she was comfortable the entire time she was being groomed (even though she has terrible anxiety). I will be taking her back next time she needs a haircut, and my family was so impressed, we will be taking our two other dogs as well. Thank you for making my rescue doggie beautiful!! read more

Love this place!!!!! I have taken Mayzie dog here for grooming(they did a very nice job at a reasonable price) AND they offer free nail trims (perfect for someone like me- squeamish about trimming nails). Out of the several grooming shops that I have taken Mayzie to- she smelled fresh longer after her bath at BB (P claims that between baths Mayzie smells like a cross between stale Fritos and a bag of dead raccooon ass left out in the sun). I don't think she smell that bad....(well maybe a bit like Fritos) but it is nicer when she smells fresh. The staff is very helpful, they have a large variety of dog clothes and accessories (stuff for cats too), all kinds of high quality pet foods and treats and gifts for pet lovers. I feed Mazie Candidae dog food, so I appreciate that BB participates in the "frequent buyer" program (every time you purchase a bag of Candidae they save the UPC label in a file with your name....buy 12 bags, get one free). read more

We love this pet food store. I'm sure even if it wasn't right by our house we would still drive there for the service. The guy who usually helps us is very knowledgeable about all of their products and has taught us quite a bit about our pets nutritional needs. We never have to worry about buying food that or animals don't like either because they have a very generous exchange policy. Very very clean. Above average dog grooming. However it takes 3 weeks to a month to get an appointment. Also, I've only been here 3 times, but every time, I witnessed drama between the workers/groomers. (Awkward to say the least) Atmosphere is uncomfortable. Really want to like this shop but I have had my leashed, relaxed, dogs attacked twice in this shop - once by one of the shop dogs, and another time by a grooming client's loose dog who was apparently guarding the treat aisle. There is a groomer in the back of the shop and there are often loose dogs in the shop. The incidents were pretty minor as they were fairly small dogs, but irritating. Leave your dogs in the car unless you enjoy having your dogs snarled and snapped at for walking in. My dogs are cgc, and active sar, so I am mindful of their conduct at all times, so not being a loose cannon. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the prices for grooming. We have a border collie/aussie mix who is about 75 lbs and we paid $65 for bath, hair cut, nails, etc. The other places we contacted quoted us $80+. He gets very nervous during grooming but they said he did great! It did seem to take awhile, we had to drop him off for a few hours and then pick him up later. When we picked him up they were finishing up his haircut and we watched the end of it and the groomer worked very well with him. He seemed a bit stressed, but he is usually much worse for grooming so we were impressed. I plan to bring him there again in the future. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. They got me in fast. I was paying the same price at petco for my two chihuahuas for half the stuff Beastie did to them. They included nail clipping and ear cleaning complimentary. They took their time on my dogs, and did a thorough job in a timely manner, they even finished 45 minutes earlier than they told me. Where petco tried to get them in and out, and I didn't feel like they did a great job. I would recommend Beastie to anyone who needed their dogs groomed. read more

Love this place and my dog does too. I especially like the new cookies - home made for dogs and very fairly priced. They are full of good things and my dog likes them and will do almost anything to get one.
