Park Rose Hardware has become one of my favorite neighborhood businesses. As a salon owner, I'm constantly running over for random supplies and little emergencies, and they're always so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Darren consistently goes above and beyond to help me figure things out, and the whole team makes you feel like a valued customer every time you walk through the door. It's so refreshing to shop somewhere that still believes in great customer service. I also loved seeing the sign on the door reminding people not to leave their dogs in hot cars, complete with the temperatures vehicles can reach in the summer. It says so much about the kind of people they are, they care about their community, including our four-legged family members. I come here for garden supplies and inspiration. It never fails me! By early August they transition from summer to fall. Not much to buy here today, except succulents and beautiful pottery pots for 50% off. I got a stunning pot for an ailing Christmas cactus. Service is always great and the atmosphere invites you to linger, wandering the awesome aisles of locally produced honey, plants, spices, and rubs. I'm a fan. read more

This place has everything you could ever want! You could wander around in here for an hour. Which I did. Came in to get some supplies for my birdfeeders. There is so much to see and get huge amount of tools and today I checked out the barbecue area. Traeger city! Also quite a few Webbers. Located in a shopping mall next to Woodys Tacos and few other places, I like to wonder through here anytime of the year. I was looking for a 2.5lb propane tank. Why? Because I love adorably small things, because a 20lb propane tank is a little too Hank Hill for my weekend cookout, because I also want to hook this up to my propane blow torch for absolutely necessary and mostly if not completely safe gardening activities. Really, pick any reason or all those reasons. Other retailers had a wait and I would not and could not wait to see this tiny propane dream FILLED TO MY WILDEST DREAMS. Parking: I've never been here before and your parking lot has some of the tiniest little compact spots I've seen. That being said, my compact car fit. There's plenty of parking. Service: I ordered and paid online so we just popped in to pick up from the service desk. The staff was all masked up and behind plexiglass and the transaction was really smooth. I asked for my new 2.5lb tank to be filled (only $3.29) and, despite the line being understandably long on a busy Thursday afternoon, the staff was quick and friendly. read more

Several months ago I went to this store to purchase a power tool. It was my first experience at any location and enjoyed wandering the aisles for a bit. When I made my way to the wall of power tools, I was approached by a salesperson in his sixties. I showed him what I was interested in and his response was "Do you know what this is for?" I proceeded to explain to him the large project I had just helped a family member complete, to which he replied "Were there no boys available to help?" Turns out he didn't seem to know anything about the tools in question beyond what he read to me off the box. While I understand that in his generation it may have indeed been "men's work" to use power tools, I have to think that if you're a salesperson in a hardware store in 2021 you should be comfortable with females purchasing and using them. If I choose to take my business to your establishment, please don't insult me. read more

Very disappointing. Unhelpful ambivalent salespeople. First & last time I'll visit. On arrival 15 minutes before closing time, I queried an unsmiling clerk at the door for a high grade non-kinking 6' replacement hose for my commercial icemaker. He led me to long garden hoses (exactly the same as the old one I brought to demonstrate what I did NOT want). I reminded him that I was seeking heavy duty hose that would not link or bend. "Don't have it," he said. I replied how odd that seemed since I was referred to Parkrose by a plumbing supply shop. I explained the thick black hose I was seeking. He just shrugged. On my way to use the toilet, I came across exactly what I was looking for... big rolls of black hose that is cut to length. I returned to the front of the shop, and asked another salesman about it. He shrugged and said "Sorry the store closed 2 minutes ago." Literally. I explained that I'd driven 20 miles, and I'd grateful if he could give me just a few minutes of help. His reply: "Sorry. Come back another time, and ask a manager who knows more." No thanks! read more

This is an dichotomous review. In some ways Parkrose Hardware is a great place to shop. They have really friendly and helpful employees. Actually, even their customers are friendly! They offer free popcorn and coffee, although, I've often found the regular coffee empty and only the decaf coffee available. Their store is bright and cheerful. They often offer coupons for return visits on their receipts. Sometimes they have great discounts on plants. However, I've never found any organic veggies here...and I've looked a number of times. This makes me pass up Parkrose when I need gardening starts and supplies, and head down the road to Shorty's, even though Parkrose is a more convenient location for me. I'll continue to shop here when I need things like spare keys, screws, or other small hardware items, but for gardening, I'll go elsewhere. Hopefully they can someday expand their veggies and other plants to include organic options. read more

I had a disappointing experience today, and am realizing that Parkrose Hardware is not taking COVID-19 seriously. Many employees were wearing masks improperly, and when I asked an employee to move his mask above his nose, he ignored me. After returning to return my rental equipment, I found that the same employee was completely mask free. I was disappointed with the employee, who was rude and dismissive, and with the manager, who clearly asked him only for my benefit to fix his mask, and didn't follow through to enforce their mask policy. There is signage clearly marked at the entrance that all customers and employees must wear masks, and I felt unsafe in this store because of the behavior I witnessed. I don't suggest supporting institutions that do not prioritize public health and well-being. read more

I love that this store as it is on my way home and next door to my gym. Always been super happy with customer service at the 164th store. Was hoping for same experience. Visited one day to locate florescent lights. Carrying in burned out lights I asked if they did any recycle. Nope. That was all I got. Nothing else. No " I can show you where we have them for sale" or an offer of where I might take them. I may have bought some even though I prefer to buy where I can recycle too. I may have also bought there if the clerk had offered any suggestions at all, Or let me know they at least sold them. Something, anything. But the attitude was off putting and not welcoming at all. I left unhappy with the experience. My husband went in last week for some plumbing items. Clerk was rude and told him they could not help him locate an item as there were only 2 of them in the store. This was after him saying he looked and could not find what he needed on his own. I would love to give my business to the locals but the customer service here needs some work. read more

I used to use this establishment 2 to 3 times a week. After today's encounter; No More. I understand that we are in a tough time, but I, as a customer do not need the passive aggressive attitude so prevalent in the PNW. This is business, try treating paying customers the proper respect. I made a complaint about the lack of service, and all I get is "OK", have a nice day sir. I placed the items on the counter and left. I tried talking to management, but they didn't care. Parkrose won't accept cash, even though other stores do. I went to the other location in the East part of Vancouver. They were Great. I voiced my concerns there about the manager Dave and they confirmed that he is difficult and rude. I guess in times like this, Parkrose does not need the $$. I pay more for them due to the quality, but the customer service is really lacking. I am all for locally supporting businesses in my area, but this Parkrose needs some work. read more

Employees have no idea what they are selling. Walked in with a circular saw blade, and employee asked what that was. Another time I bought a package of sandpaper, and the cashier opened it to charge me that price for each sheet. Very high price, but I realize that because of the convienance . Park rose hardware on Sandy Blvd Everybody who is a diy or tradesman either knows or should know this place! They sell quality products and their bolt selection is one of the last around that I know of. Their staff is always helpful (especially if you get one the staffers who have been there a long time) and are fairly knowledgeable about certain projects you may have. That saves you time because sometimes they remind you that you may need this or that. They also are literally a one stop hardware store. They have lots of good quality hard to find items and always other stores ask when seeking such items "have you been out to parkrose hardware?" I have never had Parkrose hardware ask me if I've been anywhere else cuz if they don't have it you may not be getting it today. Thanks for being all that you are! read more

I called this store (Parkrose Hardware at Vancouver Heights) a day before my visit and asked whether if they had a 5/8 inch washer that would go into the shower head. The lady who took the call told me that I would most likely need a flat 5/8 inch shower head washer. After checking to see if they had any she told me there were six of them left in the section where they were kept. I asked her to reserve, to hold on to one 5/8 inch washer that would go into the shower head and that I would pick it up the very next day before the store closed. She told me she would and that the 5/8 inch washer would be waiting for me up front with my name and phone number on it. When I visited the store the very next day I found the washer at the cashier's desk but as it turned out it wasn't a flat 5/8 inch washer. It was the wrong size. The sales associate who took me back to the washer section told me that they didn't have a "flat 5/8 inch washer" section at all. Needlessly to say I was very annoyed and decided to e-mail a complaint to the management of this particular store (Parkrose Hardware at Vancouver Heights) detailing my negative experience thinking that it would fall on deaf ears. The store manager Steve Ochoa e-mailed me back and gave his phone number for me to call which I did. After telling him my negative experience and how my time had been wasted needlessly he told me to come back and that he would make things right. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased by his action. Not only did he help me look for the washer in question which they weren't able to find but he gave me a brand new shower head free of charge worth $16.99 and $5.00 in cash to compensate me for my bus fare and lost time. As I've stated before I was very pleased and pleasantly surprised by his generosity and helpfulness. Evidently they do care about customer satisfaction and loyalty at Parkrose Hardware at Vancouver Heights. They took a bad experience and turned it into a pleasant experience.
