I looked at reviews here on Yelp and Super Spherical Soccer was 5 stars, so I reached out. Edmund, who runs the business, was friendly, professional and quite easy to deal with. We set up a time and a place, and he arrived early, got things set up, and then repped the games that the kiddos played. They all had so much fun! The kids also spent some non game time bumping into each other and rolling each other around. There were even a few game rounds where the parents played too. Young and old all had a blast! I did receive the information HOWEVER, I followed up with "great how can I make a deposit? Can I swing by to view the space?" Never received a reply. I figured it's a business they are likely busty. So I made it a point to visit to hopefully secure a spot for the birthday party. I was advised to visit after 8pm as someone to help would likely be there at that time. In addition I was told to try calling the number I had already tried connecting with. My issue isn't so much not being able to host an event here as much as it's the lack of communication. I waited a few days as I usually like to give the benefit of the doubt...which then lead me to lose potential other locations for the event. Just not great business.

In discussing that location, the only thing Matt mentioned about that location was that it was outside his delivery area so I'd have to pay $20 extra to compensate his staff, which I agreed to. The parking the day of the event was challenging. I received a call and Matt attempted to cancel on me because he couldn't find parking. I asked that he try the lot again and he found parking. That was only the beginning. I had my party set up with tons of equipment 200 yards down the beach from where Matt and his staff parked. Matt asked that I move my party to his location, which wasn't possible due to the vast amount of equipment we had at the location we had staked out earlier in the afternoon. I received a text from Matt saying that he wasn't able to move the equipment to our location and cancelled on me because he had another client in Hollywood that he needed to go to. He never bothered to even stop by our event location to tell me in person, he just cancelled over text. On top of all that, when attempting to be reimbursed for his cancellation, he tried to tell me that I had cancelled on him which was entirely untrue. He only refunded the deposit and $100 off the $350 cost, and refused to credit me even though I never even saw him or the equipment at the beach. So I spent $250 on a completely wasted experience and got nothing but excuses from Matt. I understand that the parking situation was a challenge, but the lack of effort on the part of Matt and his team was unacceptable. I could not be more disappointed with the experience of working with Matt and Bumper Balls LA.

Both the kids and the parents reported they had an amazing time. Jerry and his partner arrived on time, set everything up in time for the party, and managed the games with fantastic energy and organization. They kept a crowd of 20+ kids (and quite a few parents) engaged and entertained the entire time. The best part is that the parents had just as much fun as the kids! The games were a huge hit, especially parents versus kids. Several guests even asked for the company info because they were so impressed. This is the real life version of a fun nintendo game called mario striker because you can play the player not the ball. So hit as many people as you like going for the ball. There will be no girlie man type dramatic Derek Fisher flops in this game. If you want to see a grown man fake pain watch soccer but if you want to knock people out in a hilarious and semi safe fashion play bubble soccer. A group of friends gathered in Irvine with a Groupon deal. We are all newbies but there was a lot of knocking people over and some occasional scoring. I tried very hard to only hit guys my size because I didn't want to be the one knocking over girls half my size. It was a lot of fun but by 4th quarter the gloves were off and everyone started a hitting frenzy. I say this sport is semi safe because I did manage to get injured. I planted my knee wrong when trying to change directions and I yelled ouch. I tried to walk it off and got a nice love tap and fell on the ground for a good minute. I had my Dark Knight moment when I decided to rise one last time with only minutes to go in the game. I wasn't able to score but I had fun. Next time I should remember to stretch. I had a blast!
