We recently had our little wild one's first birthday at their facility. They (Helen the owner) did a fantastic job coordinating the right colors for the occasion. The set up was perfect and just so cute! The place was super clean, which obviously was very important to us. She reassured me the balls were all washed and steamed between each use and the mats were all scrubbed down as well. We felt 100% safe coming in there during this weird, careful time in our lives. My little ones had a great time jumping and playing around in all the little structures. And we felt totally safe letting them go nuts! I threw together my daughters first birthday in less than a week & was scrambling to find a soft play rental service. I was lucky enough to get in contact with Helen from Soft Play LA through another company suggesting her & she had a custom mini set available for my date. She was so prompt to answering my messages and emailed me all the information I needed. They came right on time for set up and the play area was so beautiful. They were also very kind during tear down to let the children keep playing as they cleaned up. We rented the mini play set for 5 hours and I honestly think it was worth every penny. It was so great cause it included a mini ball pit, climbers, a tunnel, animal hoppers, and some big blocks! The kids loved it. There was even the cutest little shoe cubby and welcome mat. I truly could not have been happier with their services and would recommend them time after time. This is one of the best mommy resources/blogs that I belong to because some mom out there has the answer for you. =) I wasn't planning on a birthday party for my about to be 2 year old son. It's not like he "plays" with his daycare buddies at this age; it's more of a parallel play, playing next to each other. At the last minute (less than 2 weeks), I decided to throw him a party. My husband hated a party at our complex's recreation room due to the set-up, clean-up, etc., but at this age, I wanted a more private party because they're so small & I didn't want them to get trampled by the bigger kids at those activity centers. Soft Play L.A. is our answer to those issues. Soft Play L.A. provides a good amount of soft play equipment for the little ones targeting 0-4 years old. I disagree, & say 3 years old is a better cut-off due to the equipment size; mainly a 4 year old might not be able to "slide" or crawl through the tunnel. I ordered the Basic Package (from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM): 2-hour rental of 20+ soft play equipment, basketball hoop & balls, & Tegu (magnetic wooden blocks); 1 staff person; equipment set-up & clean-up (I'm posting a pic of the equipment only to respect out & the other kids' parents' privacy). I wasn't sure if I had enough space for the All-In Package. SPLA provides high quality, & most importantly, CLEAN equipment. I'm a bit of germaphobe & I often question the cleanliness of these inclusive kids activities/party planning places. The owner, Mindy Mann, is a mom herself so she definitely understands a mom's concerns about hygiene. As the owner of an indoor play space, "cleanliness is a HUGE deal to her so she uses commercial grade organic child safe cleaning products on all their toys, & all equipment is wiped cleaned prior to tour event to ensure the highest level of cleanliness." I was still out & about picking up the balloons & cake when Mindy called. She arrived 45-minutes before my scheduled time to allow ample time to set-up. A BIG PLUS on the party checklist... as I have rented bounce/jump houses for his old sister & had a couple companies delivered just after the party start time with a few early guests; not good. I came back home to let Mindy in so she could set-up before taking off again. The ultimate professional, she surveyed my space before unloading the equipment to set-up. Even with a shorter time frame, she still manages to set-up in under 30-minutes (the amount of time it took for me to run back out & pick up the cake). M was able to enjoy the equipment & toys by himself for a few minutes with Mindy engaging him before his 1st friend's arrival. Instead of parallel play, M & his friends played together, which is pretty uncommon since they're all 2 & under. Even his sister & her friends played with them, well, the Tegu block-building, not so much the soft play equipment. I'm absolutely fascinated by these magnetic wooden blocks; I need to get a set. Tegu doesn't have small pieces like Legos that can easily be lost & it offers the same aspect of building with your imagination.
