ORANGE COUNTY CREAMERY @ SAN CLEMENTE This spot is located in downtown San Clemente. My boyfriend and I were just walking by after parking on the street nearby. Most of the street parking is free, some spots are two hours while others are only 20 minutes, so definitely pay attention to the signs. Parking can be a little difficult, but once you see someone leave, you can usually grab a spot pretty quickly. We honestly didn't have too much trouble finding parking, it just depends on timing and luck. There aren't really seats inside, but they do have one big table outside. Overall, downtown San Clemente is super walkable, and there are plenty of benches nearby where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream while walking around. My boyfriend and I tried a bunch of their flavors, and my personal favorite was the mint chocolate chip. The chocolate flakes inside were so delicious and had the perfect texture. My boyfriend got the chocolate coffee flavor, which he really liked too. We each got one scoop, and it came out to around $4-5 each. Overall, everything was delicious. It feels like a small hidden gem, and I would definitely come back. The ice cream was super good, and the service was great too. read more

Came here with the family after dinner for a dessert treat and really enjoyed it! The ice cream was super creamy and the service was good as well. I tried the pineapple coconut flavor and personally wasn't a big fan of that one, but the salted caramel lavender was absolutely delicious. It had a really nice floral lavender flavor that wasn't overpowering at all. The kids loved the peanut butter chip and the pistachio swirl too. Overall, a great spot for dessert and we'd definitely come back to try more flavors! read more

Very tasty and some unique ice cream in a kind of gelato serving fashion. I had the chocolate coffee and the chocolate coconut while my wife had the banana nutella. Chocolate coffee had everything you would expect it to be with little shavings of rich chocolate mixed in with cocoa ice cream while the chocolate coconut was very creamy and nutty with a chocolate finish. But the favorite was the banana Nutella. Perfectly ripe aromatic bananas with just the right hand of Nutella mixed in with a vanilla bean ice cream. I really should have just ate my wives beside my own. Haha! But maybe I'll just order my own next time. read more

This little ice cream shop is a "must visit" if you are in (or near) Dana Point. It's in a row of shops known as, oddly enough, "The Row" and parking is on the roof. Take stairs or elevator to get down to the shops. This ice cream shop has a couple tables inside and several out on a covered patio area. They had about 14 flavors available on my visit. I was welcomed and offered tastes but I just jumped in and got two scoops in a cup of the two flavors that stood out for me - coffee chocolate and peanut butter chip. I also grabbed an ICB root beer from their fridge. I sat inside and enjoyed my ice cream. Both were creamy with vibrant flavors. The coffee had a deep coffee flavor with tiny bits of chocolate throughout and the peanut butter had a vivid peanut butter flavor with small chips of chocolate scattered throughout. Both were excellent! I really liked the small town feel of the place and also enjoyed the music they were playing in the shop. Definitely a place for ice cream lovers to patronize in south OC. read more

Orange County Creamery is located in Dana Point. The ice creams are so fresh and creamy, and remind me of Handel's. If I am in the area, I will definitely drop by here to try new flavors. The cashier was very nice and sweet, and allowed us to sample different flavors. I tried the taro, cherry swirl, guava and papaya, and they were all very good. They all taste real, especially the guava and papaya sorbet, which was very refreshing. I got a double scoop of the Lavender and Cherry Swirl on a cone, and a single scoop of their Peanut Butter Chip. The cone was fresh and crunchy, and not stale. I always like to get my ice cream with a cone, but a lot of places have stale ones so it is nice to know everything here is extremely fresh. You can choose between a regular cone, waffle bowl, or gluten-free/ vegan cone for just $1 more. The lavender was super creamy and had a nice, strong lavender flavor and scent. The cherry swirl was nice and balanced, with a little tartness, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The ice cream was so good, I got another scoop of their Peanut Butter Chip. It was extremely creamy and had a nice, strong peanut butter flavor, with a hint of chocolate chip shavings. I liked that the chocolate was not overpowering the peanut butter flavor. I will definitely be back to try out more ice cream flavors. There are a few restaurants and a bakery in The Row too so be sure to check them out. Apizza Doho is a few doors down, and you can swing by Orange County Creamery after for dessert... or you can go get ice cream after going to the beach nearby. Happy eating! read more

I also enjoy that they have a limited edition or featured ice cream too! They have lots of topping options and even offer gluten free cones if you like. Really good ice cream! Smooth and creamy. A couple of things: it's a little expensive, and I didn't get a lot of ice cream in my sundae. Also, this place is located in Dana Point but called Orange County Creamery. Does this mean they claim the entire county even though they only have one location in Dana Point? Still not clear why this is the Orange County Creamery. Nice friendly staff and tables outside to enjoy your ice cream. read more

We came to this shop for a late afternoon treat. Lots of flavors to choose. The milkshake with three different scoops topped with real whip cream was enjoyed by a milkshake lover. Visited this location with my family to check out the vegan options after having lunch a few doors down. We were immediately greeted and were able to sample a few of their vegan flavors. We stopped for ice cream at the end of the day. Parking is in the back, good for the shopping center. There's some seating inside which is nice. The people working are nice. We were able to try lots of their various flavors, they had some good interesting ones! Only reason for 4 stars is the toppings were subpar. The cookie dough was gross and so small! This simply delicious ice cream. Although they had a number of interesting flavors, I tried the plain chocolate. I think the test of good ice cream is how good their chocolate (or vanilla) tastes. This place did not disappoint. If you're in or near Dana Point, then this place is worth the stop. Next time I will try some other options, but that chocolate really hit the spot. read more

We were looking for something sweet and wandered into Orange County Creamery. There was a good amount of flavors to choose from. The girl helping us was very sweet and helpful ! The only drawback is there is only one person helping so the line goes by really slow and it can drag if someone is trying a lot of flavors. I stopped into the Orange County creamery after eating at vibe. Vibe collaborated with a flavor here. I did not try the collab flavor as I'm not a fan of vibe's banana bread, I went with the seasonal Pumpkin on a house made waffle cone. It was pretty good. The place is bright and clean and the employee was welcoming and helpful. I recommend trying it, if you're looking for some clean ice cream or sorbet. read more

The husband and I got a single shared scoop of cherry swirl and banana nutella crisp. The cherry swirl was the big winner. The cherry flavor was assertive and not artificial tasting like cherry can sometimes be. The banana nutella was disappointing as it barely had any nutella or crisp. In fact I'm not sure there was nutella at all in my scoop. I tried samples of the coconut chocolate (eh) and the salted caramel (too sweet). Waffle cones and bowls are reasonably priced at $1 each. The single scoop was so small the husband and I wondered if it was a kids' scoop. And we tend to go to small batch creameries where the scoops are on the small side. Tables are outside and covered (at least at 5:30 p.m.) The kiddos with us had fun doing the splits outside. read more

Been here a couple times and have always enjoyed the delicious fresh ice cream here. You can park on the street or park up above and behind, however, avoid busy times, or parking can be difficult. I love that you can sample the ice cream. The staff are always friendly here and willing to give you a taste. The prices here are reasonable. My fiancé and I shared a 3 scooper this time, of peanut butter chip, Oreo chocolate, and caramel pretzel. All so good. We will be back. read more

Came here after exploring Crystal Cove State Park and we planned on getting ice cream somewhere further north, but we wanted a mom n' pop kind of place and as we headed down PCH to get back home in SD County, we saw a fire on the hill in Laguna Beach. We pushed to get on the other side of it and out of evacuation territory and when it seemed safe, I saw this place and we HAD TO head in. The guy makes his own ice cream and it is awesome. Some of it is both gluten free and vegan as well and it is the first time I ever had a gluten free cone and that was better than I could have imagined. First off I would like to say I really do enjoy the ice cream here my favorite is chocolate coffee. They have very nice portions good flavors and great prices. Unfortunately the second time I came in I was shocked on the appearance of Sienna's dress code. She was very athletic shorts and her butt cheeks were hanging out. This is a family-friendly environment and I don't believe children or anyone should see that in this environment. We will not be coming back here. This may be some of the best ice cream I've had in a long time. Their fresh flavors, which also include vegan and gluten free options, were incredible. My husband and I loved the Chocolate Coconut, Tiramisu, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate. We ended up buying pints also to take home. It is reasonably priced and is supporting a family owned business. In addition , there was a young man making the waffle cones right there in front of us. I got 1/2 coconut and 1/2 strawberry cheesecakes. Husband got cookies n cream, which was tasty as well. The service was outstanding! There was a little bit of a line, maybe 8, yet they allowed a couple of samples with great patience, and gave service with a smile!

I'll be back to Coffee Importers soon--it's a great place in DP for a morning coffee and pastry and hopefully the "regulars" don't ruin it for everyone else. Original review: I want to love this place and it bums me out to have to write this, but this is one of the least welcoming places in DP. Not because the staff is rude. But because they allow this clique of regulars to take over the outside patio and harass people who aren't in their group. I've watched it happen a few times now, but today was the worst. A woman with a little kid sat down at an unoccupied table and started having their food. A couple of minutes later an older gentleman walked up and began verbally accosting her, getting in her space and demanding that she leave because he's been coming here for 35 years and this is his table. He kept accosting her until she was crying and took her child and moved tables. A few people tried to comfort this poor woman and her little kid. This guy was 1000% in the wrong. But staff didn't do anything. Instead, they walked up to the guy, said hi to him (of course, in a first name basis) and were friendly as anything. But not a word to the woman crying and trying to distract her toddler. Gross. It's not just this one guy either. There are at least a dozen of these "regulars" and Coffee Importers doesn't appear to do anything to stop them from harassing people, and actually seems to be fostering this environment.

There is plenty of parking both in a lot, an extended lot and also the street. You can also take one of the many foot paths to the location as well. There are two ways to order. One sign says pastries and coffee and the other side towards the back or the Marina side says food and beverages. If you only want a coffee with a croissant or cinnamon roll or the delicious biscuits, then step into the pastries and coffee line. If you want breakfast sandwiches or any of the toasts plus coffee and other beverages, then go to the other line. It can get very busy, especially on the weekends after 9 AM. But bring your patience and be nice to everyone. Once you have ordered, step aside. Most likely your drinks will be called out first. It does take time to make freshly prepared food so either take a seat with your number and wait for it to be delivered or listen if it's going to be a to go order for your name It is dog friendly out on the patio. Please make sure to clean up after yourselves as the wind can blow any debris into the marina and we want to make sure everything is clean and safe for our underwater friends. Very cool nautical vibes. They decorate for the holidays. Reasonably priced. Support local. If you're gonna spend 6 to 7 dollars on a pastry or coffee, you should come here. Incredible vibes you could park at the other end of the marina and walk on over for a great scenic walk. My favorite is the iced harbor latte which is like a caramel vanilla latte similar to what I would describe as the golden eagle from Dutch Bros. The biscuits are incredible. I always get them. Stupid me drank the drink and ate the biscuits before I took a picture. Just trust me.

They dip the ice cream bar in chocolate and coat it in graham cracker. Then top it with marshmallow that they literally toast with a flame. Then the ice cream cools the marshmallow so it doesn't drip but instead makes a perfectly delicious coating of toasted marshmallow. Service is always good and don't let a line deter you.
