I happen to be walking past truly when the ribbon cutting was taking place last week. I was able to try one of their delicious cups complementary, and it did not disappoint. I chose the lemon after I learned that the lemons are flown in from Italy and the pistachios are flown in from France. They have truly put so much into making this a beautiful extension of the restaurant. There are some pretty benches outside to sit on while enjoying your dessert and everyone is so friendly and happy to be of service. They also allow you to try some sample before you choose, which is really great.
What a quaint little shop. Absolutely delicious gelato. I had the salted caramel flavor, and it was perfection! I am looking forward to trying their new flavors coming out this week!
We stopped by Truly Gelato during soft launch and were very impressed by the interior decor. The colors, the wall paper, the yellow espresso machine, the bathroom and the lemon sink! Employees were very friendly and offered samples. I went with the pistachio in a waffle cone and my husband with an affogato with sea salt caramel. The gelato is delicious, just a little bit pricey. But will definitely be back to try their different flavors.

The employees were so quick to give samples, it was very refreshing to not have to ask for a sample they simply said, would you like a sample so of course we had many samples. Wow, Truly Gelato exceeded my expectations! Even though I'm very familiar with the very high quality of food at Truly Pizza, for some reason I was expecting your basic gelato. NO! The flavors are outstanding, as is the service. The brown butter salted cones are delicious, and the flavors of gelato are limited and not fancy, but done well and true to their monikers. Nothing tasted artificial or overly sweet, and the texture is perfect. I especially loved the pistachio and hazelnut flavors. As is the case with all Truly restaurants, hiring is excellent and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a little pricey, but otherwise, so crave-able and delicious!
We stopped by Truly Gelato in Dana Point during their soft opening this evening after seeing a TikTok video, and overall it was a good first experience with some room for improvement. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. While we waited in line, they offered samples, which was a nice touch and made the wait enjoyable. At the time of our visit, they were offering 9 gelato flavors, including: Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Valrhona Milk Chocolate, Sicilian Pistachio, Espresso, Passion Fruit Sorbet, White Chocolate Hazelnut, Lemon Sorbet, Cookie Butter, and Sea Salt Caramel (although the Sea Salt Caramel was unfortunately sold out when we visited). The gelato itself was delicious, but I was a little disappointed by the portion sizes. If you're used to Gelato Paradiso, the servings here are noticeably smaller for a higher price. My "regular size" two flavor cup wasn't packed very well - the scooper left a large air pocket underneath, so it looked full but actually contained MUCH less gelato than expected for the price ($9.50!). We also ordered a "regular" size two-flavor cone, and it was also much smaller than we anticipated for the price ($11.50!). I know soft openings are meant to work out the kinks, so I'm hopeful the portion consistency improves as they get settled. It would also be nice to be able to have more than 1-2 flavors. The quality of the gelato and the excellent customer service definitely make me want to give them another try.
Gelato was tasty, but we spent $20.00 for two small scoops. My cup seemed really small for $10.00, perfect size but kind of pricy.
Visited Truly Gelato during their soft opening. Next door neighbors to Truly Pizza. Extremely cute whimsy dog themed decor inside. The employees were very kind, offering as many samples as you like. Got the passion fruit sorbet and pistachio flavors, delicious! Perhaps the flavor options were on the safe side. Hoping they offer a rotating flavor menu. I will say the Brown Butter Waffle cone is a must. I also appreciate the 9:30pm closing time, nice to have a late night dessert place available.
Went to visit during their soft opening. The positive was the staff were very accommodating and friendly. They offered samples and you could try multiple flavors. The cons, the espresso was very bitter and had no flavor. There was not a large association of gelato flavors and the one we had was average. The bill for two espressos and one small gelato with a tip came to $20.
As a gelato and truly pizza fanatic, I can confidently say this is the best gelato I've ever had. This is the best tasting, smoothest consistency, and flavorful gelato I've ever had in my life. I tried all the flavors and am very impressed with the richness and flavor in each one. Their soft opening is going on right now and all of their staff is so kind and sweet! I loved their cookie butter and sea salt & caramel. Their white chocolate hazelnut was so so unique and their milk chocolate was very rich. I will 100% be back here. I also loved the way the shop was decorated and love the truly merch they have now!
What a sweet treat right next to Truly Pizza! We really enjoyed the well crafted gelatos. My favorites were the Madagascar Vanilla bean, espresso and passion fruit sorbet. You can also get coffee and they sell swag. Their menu is limited but the quality is A plus.
10 stars!! The staff working today was incredible! So friendly and inviting. If management reads this, please go and praise your team that was on shift at 6:00pm aug 14! The gelato is amazing too! Salted Carmel and the Biscoff Pistachio is also really good, had to bring home a pint! Defiantly going back! Maybe even tonight a second time with my spouse
First time here! The gelato was very fresh, sweet, creamy, flavorful, and delicious. Also, there was excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, and I had a great experience today.
I'm actually not a fan of Truly Pizza buuuuut the Truly Gelato is quite fantastic and the gelato is malleable but thick with texture. I appreciate how the pistachio was not a fake green color, so it seems like they do things pretty authentically. I also loved the complimentary waffle chip with the cute TG. There is a restroom and also a sink in the hallway, which is helpful because your hands might be sticky after. Parking-wise, there is a small lot right in front of it. Gelato, affogato, espresso. Only a few select flavors. One reminds me of Biscoff so had to order the affogato with the cookie and butter combo. The two, small gelato + affogato was about $20 + tip. The damage is done and the fee was indeed a good one. A bit of a premium pricepoint, but to try, why not. Twas good though so i can't complain. Or can I?! All good. After dining at Truly, it was a good treat! read more
I've always been impressed by Truly Pizza. I think they've done something phenomenal with that brand and I already knew that Truly Gelato was going to be great. I already loved the soft serve at Truly Pizza so I knew the gelato here would be out of this world. I sampled a few flavors and decided to go with the cookie butter and the sea salt caramel. Both were very delicious. The textures were like butter, just melted in my mouth. The buildout inside was beautiful. They had these wallpapers of dogs in a very clean and elegant-looking dessert shop, which I've never really seen before. Great service, great merchandise, cool place to hang out. A lot of people were standing outside eating and enjoying their gelato. It's located right next door to Truly Pizza. I think this place is going to take off. Another great concept from the Truly team. If this is what they keep doing, I can't wait to see what they do next. read more

Tried today-Overall delicious gelato and yummy cones however some areas I hope they will improve - the yellow ones spoons they put in the ice cream are very sharp due to excess plastic from manufacturing- I took one bite with the spoon and it cut my lip in 2 spots :( - they broke the cone for my husbands ice cream and didn't say anything or apologize or offer a new one and then gave him less gelato than they gave me (posted a pic of it) -the menu is printed on very small paper and only on two small picture frames which made it hard to see the options read more
