This is the only vegan, refined sugar free ice cream place I'm aware of, so I'm lucky to live close enough to stop by! I sampled many flavors again, this time choosing a PB Chunk Flavor. Yum! Ice creams are still a little icey (not perfectly creamy all the way throughout), but I still prefer eating this ice cream over others because I FEEL better! Vegan & refined sugar free. I was traveling with a friend who has diabetes. Fortunately he's on the lower end so monitoring his sugar and carbohydrate levels is important. But since I was on vacation, I was in the mood for ice cream. Searching around, we were near Vedder's. Read over the history and WOW! What a great concept to work from and create a frozen dessert that appeals to everyone. Daveed got a mini chocolate ice cream. He said there was a delicate coconut flavor but overall, really good! I had to have an ice cream sandwich. I ordered chocolate chip cookies and salted caramel ice cream. Soooooooooooo Good! There were other flavors that sounded inviting and will have to wait for another day! There are some small tables out front which is nice. 1st off I've never had vegan icecream, my error; thought it was a dairy icecream shop. $8 small cup of banana fosters. It was tasty. No refined sugar used, dates are used to sweeten it. I've been to one other place like this and really enjoyed it, but this one is even better. First of all, it's tucked away on a charming little street filled with shops and cafés. The menu offers a wide variety of unique flavors,We decided on the Matcha Lavender and the Mango Berry. The Mango Berry tasted very homemade and fresh, with real mango and berry flavor and a touch of syrup that worked nicely. The Lavender Matcha was even better--super rich and creamy, and best of all, not overly sweet like at many ice cream shops. We go to Vedders every once in a while because my daughter is lactose intolerant. The ice cream is good and we like the ingredients they use. We usually get scoops but this time we ordered a pint. When we got home, the pint wasn't even filled to the top. Also, there was a whole air pocket inside the pint. My guess that there was only 2/3 of the pint filled. I emailed Ashley but have not received a response so I'm posting here. soo so good!!! this place was first appealing to me because of the beutiful story behind it and the fact that they use all good ingredients and none of the artificial stuff we walked in and we're immediately greeted by the very nice lady. she had said she had made some of the flavors a few days prior and they were already almost gone!! they were so good! i got the cinnamon roll and apple crumble and then we got a pint of the cinnamon roll. i also tried the mint chip and chocolate and they were so so good as well . i wish vedders had more locations!!!! i need to try more flavors!!!! read more

Unfortunately I didn't love the pb chocolate chip cookies for the sandwich - too soft and crumbly, too little ice cream filling and too expensive at $11! Tasted my partner's chocolate pb crunch ice cream and didn't enjoy that either. So then I got the mint chocolate chip so many reviewers loved and yes, it tasted the best. Awesome. Pretty much the only ice cream I'll eat with some regularity, as any other place is loaded with sugar and massive portions. I wouldn't say guilt-free, as you're still getting calories, but a mini size at Vedder's is about as healthy as "ice cream" can get. And most importantly, real fucking ingredients! You can actually taste the fruit and dates. Definitely keep the mini size, it's a decent amount, more than enough for me. Anyways, I love this place. I am putting this up to save other people from driving there only to find out they are not open! I had bookmarked this place for awhile and really wanted to try it. We drove over 35 mins to get my little one some ice cream to celebrate a special moment in her life. When we got there the store was locked up cold. No signage, no explanation as to why they were not open when we were clearly there during their business hours (at 4:30 pm on Friday). As someone who is gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar free, I came to terms with the fact that desserts will never be quite as good as they did before I made these dietary changes, so I didn't expect all that much. That was until I came across this ice cream sandwich. It is quite literally the best ice cream sandwich I've ever had across the board. The chocolate chip cookie is perfectly chewy with just the right amount of sweetness and the ice cream is so smooth with a delicious coconut cream base. My husband and I just kept saying wow back and forth to each other as we enjoyed this dessert. We cannot wait to try their other ice creams and hopefully one day visit the shop.
