Recently went here and had a great experience! John was very helpful! The original frames I picked out weren't working for me once I brought them home. They let me come back to adjust them and on the second visit he suggested ordering new frames with no additional charge. Picked up my new frames yesterday and they are perfect. They have a huge selection of frames!! My visit was quick and painless. They were easy to get an appt with and I was able to call and get someone on the phone quickly as well. My only recommendation would be to allow a few extra minutes for parking as I typically had to circle the block to find somewhere to park! 10/10. 5 stars! read more

Service: excellent. The staff was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. I felt that they are here to do business and not take money from you. I ordered my contact lenses with them for the first time and was feeling a bit anxious. Well, they "price-matched" my order with the 1-800-contacts price point as well did a next-day delivery, with a prompt phone call to me to let me know when my delivery of contacts has arrived. The store is centrally located in downtown Ithaca. Very patient and helpful in examination and my selection of frames. Held onto frames for me until I could afford them. Quick turn around time after I ordered them. Comfortable space for waiting and examination and final fitting. I would highly recommend this business. Also very wide range of frames from which to choose. Horrible service here. I had 2 eye exams here, and previously had a good experience. I'm not covered by insurance and recently my glasses broke. Wanted to order frames online because I pay out of pocket and can't afford to purchase from there and they are refusing to give me my PD. If I could give them less than one star I would. read more

First time I went into a store that refuses to adjust a frame. And the optometrist was rude as well.

I had a great experience here. I called and asked if they do lenses and frames the same day and was told that they could depending on the lenses needed and the frames chosen. I told them I would be there in 45 minutes. I found the frame selection to be great and chose a pair quickly. Next I gave John my Rx and Insurance info and he found more discounts than I even knew I had (and I had just checked prior to calling). After I showed him the frames I wanted he said come back in an hour and I'll have them ready, then he said come back in half an hour. I came back in 20 mins, and they were ready. Total cost was next to nothing. He was very helpful and friendly and even helped me choose the frames. I will definitely be going here from now on. read more

Optivision of Ithaca is a little eyewear shop on the Ithaca Commons. I bought a pair of glasses, which I love; the selection is decent and the staff is really nice. You won't find as many funky plastic frames here as you might in Collegetown, but I struck gold and am happy with the purchase. read more

Very friendly folks with a wide variety of frames - from classic to trendy. Perhaps on the expensive side, but the service makes up for that downside. It's not beautiful inside but... Matters not. They adjusted my glasses for free even though I hadn't purchased them there. read more

Been a customer here twice before and always try to support local businesses, especially on the Commons. Went on Saturday morning at 9:40 and they were closed despite advertising a 9:30 opening. Went for coffee and returned at 10:15 and still closed. Called to see if they had changed hours and no hours of operation offered on the message greeting. Off to one of the chain stores. read more

I have a suspicion that "Talia S." may be another Optometrist or not a real person at all - because anyone who would right that review has clearly never set foot in the store. In any case, the staff there are very helpful and knowledgeable - and if they don't have what you need they won't take your money but will instead send you somewhere that does. read more

I just ordered my first pair of prescription glasses this afternoon. A friend suggested that I visit one of the eyeglass stores on The Commons. I visited Optivision and was so glad that i did. There was a wide range of frames to choose from- and I felt no pressure to make a purchase. When I asked for help I could not have asked for more relaxed- yet helpful service. I've been going to Optivision for 20+ years. They give very good personalized service and actually care about you. They are much better than the chain eyeglass places in town. I've tried all of them and felt that the chain store "two for one eyeglasses sales" were a rip-off. read more

This place has one of the worst customer services ever. The eye doctor was great and did an excellent job, they have a great selection of frames, but none of that matters when the people who work there (John to be specific) are rude and unhelpful. I have insurance that covers my eye exam and I only pay a small co-pay. I've been paying the same $20 co-pay for years! I went to get my regular eye exam for the first time here and I was told that my co-pay was $42. I called my insurance to make sure I was correct and I was correct. They asked me to get the provider to call the provider line to sort it out, but John refused to call or even talk on the phone when I had a representative on the line. His job is to deal with insurance, yet he refused to call and straighten out my insurance, and refused to offer an alternative solution. (remember, I have had a $20 co pay for years on my insurance, and never had an issue) He was EXTREMELY RUDE and by the end of it, I was shaking and walked out without my prescription. I wasted an hr of my time there, and I will NEVER GO BACK ever. read more
