I called the other Perspire Studios here in AZ, who are owned by a different owner and they were informed of the closing might happen but did not know it already happened. It is very sad because my wife had been going there since the grand opening. It is just really sad it closed without saying anything to customers. My wife was there last week. My wife is out a few credits and lost out on half a month's membership. And I saw online that others had just purchased packages. My suggestion is to contact your credit card company to see if they can do anything. I reached out to the corporate number to see if I can verify and find out more info. Overall, Just really sad they just closed down without saying anything. We would have loved to say thank you for the past 4 years. It was a great studio with wonderful people working there. Really sad for the people that worked the front desk and most likely just lost a job. I would grab a picture and look at the store, but I live 40 min away. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for myself and 3 girlfriends. At the time of booking, I made it clear we had not decided on services yet and wanted to choose when we arrived. The night before, they called and left a voicemail confirming us for 90-minute massages, which was never agreed upon. I immediately called back and clarified that we were still coming, but only wanted 60-minute massages and would choose our exact services when we got there. They confirmed that was fine. When we arrived, I signed us in and specifically wrote "combo" because I was interested in their combination reflexology. Before my massage even started, I clearly told my masseuse I wanted the combo reflexology, and she acknowledged it. However, the massage I received was not reflexology at all there was no foot soak and barely any foot work, which is standard at every reflexology place I've been to. On top of that, during the massage they were extremely pushy about extending our sessions another 30 minutes (making it 90 minutes total). I was asked twice, and all 3 of my friends were also pressured to extend. We all declined. At checkout, I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. When I asked, they told me they gave me the "combo body massage" instead of the "combo reflexology." That was never what I asked for. Instead of taking accountability or trying to correct their mistake, they did nothing. To make matters worse, their tipping system feels very uncomfortable and aggressive. They present tip options starting around 30-38% and hold the payment screen right in front of you, creating unnecessary pressure. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and focused on upselling rather than customer service. I take responsibility for not being more confrontational in the moment, but not everyone is comfortable speaking up, and businesses should not rely on that. Jonathan injured my arm. On August 1st 2024, I got a message…read moreat Movement Restoration from Jonathan, a therapist I had never worked with before. As soon as the massage was over, my right arm was numb, heavy, painful and I couldn't move it. I immediately notified Jonathan of this. When I informed the owner, Trish, she kept telling me it was a normal body response and that I didn't need to go to the doctor. The day after the massage, I showed another therapist at the facility, Denise, and the front desk girl the lack of movement in my arm. They both told me that was NOT normal and that I should see a doctor right away. Denise said the owner, Trish, was telling me it was normal because she didn't want to be liable. I had imaging done and went to an orthopedic surgeon on August 6th. He diagnosed me with a rotator cuff impingement tendinitis, axillary neuropraxia and sensory palsy to axillary nerve due to an overhead stretch, manipulation and axillary manual massage. Jonathan overstretched my arm while pressing into my nerves which caused the injury. After going to the Dr. and receiving a diagnosis, I went back to Movement Restoration and gave the owner, Trish, a note from the doctor explaining the injury and the maneuver that caused it. She still tried to convince me it was normal. I asked if she would be submitting an insurance claim and she let me know she would not be submitting a claim as well as would not be taking responsibility for injuring my arm. My arm has now been painful and numb to sensation since August 1st, 2024 because of this. I have been on pain medicine and have been going to physical therapy to help with the pain and to heal the nerve. I had been going to Movement Restoration for years so it's very disappointing to be treated like this.
