Internet outages are frequent and slow to repair. i have had a technician demand to troubleshoot inside my house and when the problem was found to be outside my house i was charged. They should troubleshoot outside first or not charge you when the problem is the line to your house. I argued with Opimum but lost because they do not escalate your complaint only say i talked with my supervisor and he says this, without ever allowing you to speak to a decision maker. Worst company on the planet. Overcharged us, hung up and transferred us multiple times, and were offering us deals and service extensions besides the fact that we disconnected and returned our routers months ago. These people are a special type of audacious and I hope they go out of business or lose a major lawsuit in the next decade. Terrible experience, terrible service, mid-wifi. Do not do business with these people. I'm adding this in to make my points concrete. I paid over $300 for 4 months of wifi I didn't even have a router for. The only leverage these people have is taking hours out of your day to repeat the same things over and over again while hanging up on you and resetting the customer service task line. After the 3rd transfer, if you make it that far, and upon requesting a way to refute unfair billing, they'll make you wait on the phone for over an hour just taking up more time out of your day. I've never been so heated from what is seemingly an easy process nor have I ever calmly begged so many Indians at a call center to just help me with simple issues instead of trying to upsell me. Got charged for a month of internet 8 months after I canceled with them via phone. Mind you I repeated to them over and over again I want to cancel when I initially cancelled. Clearly they don't understand what the word "cancel" means. If you call the customer support line and talk to Max, you best asked for somebody else. He doesn't understand the word no, and doesn't want to help you in any way on completely cancel their service. Somehow my account was still active with autopay this entire time. What a damn joke! I planned for a technician to come set up internet, had confirmed and everything. Right before technician was supposed to come someone called saying it was canceled and they needed to reschedule. They said it was canceled because I had to pay more money after the initial amount I already paid for set up. Then said once I paid additional amount it was going to take a few days to get a technician out again. I ended up canceling the whole thing. Seemed super shady. They told me it would take 30-45 days to get all the money back I put in. So we will see if I get it back but it was a horrible experience. I was transferred so many times to the wrong people during this call too, just ridiculous. read more

Constant outages and worst customer service ever. You cannot ever talk to a live person until you unplug and plug your modem back in. Then you get a live person who has you do it again. Then they reboot your equipment from their location. After you have done all of this multiple times with multiple calls they will schedule a technician. They then send out a timely, polite sub contractor who works on what he is allowed to work on. Once it is a problem on the pole an Optimum technician is scheduled to come out within 48 hours. When that didn't happen I called back and they said they would expedite the technician and that he would be here within 72 hours. That didn't happen. I called back and was told they would expedite the ticket and it would be fixed in 72 hours. Fourth time to go thru this today and was told it would be done by this Thursday, just under 72 hours. read more

Optimum is by far the most horrible company still in existence. I would suggest finding any other company besides Optimum. Customer service is a zero on the phone, appears to be in another country. In person customer service is even worse. I returned my cable equipment in person to the Terrell, TX location and the lady said that I would receive an email for the receipt. That was my first mistake, leaving without the receipt. So I drove back to the location and they claimed that they could not reprint the receipt. I was able to take a picture of the computer screen and all my equipment, video of me returning the equipment etc. While I'm standing there, they claimed that a box was missing, which was in the bag. Strangely enough, I get an email for that 1 box being returned, while standing in the store, which means that an email for all the other equipment was never sent. It took me 45 minutes to cancel my service on the phone and then when returning the equipment to the actual physical location, they tried to scam me right in my face so that they could ultimately charge me for not returning the equipment. Flat out a tactic that they obviously do over and over again to customers canceling service. They still might try to charge me in the end, I have no clue about anything as horrific as they operate. This has been known about the company and the horrible service that the offer, so it's my fault for ever being with them in the first place. It is puzzling how the company could still be in business. I write this review as an honest opinion based on my experience. I'm sure that there are some that have had better experiences, but in my case, it was the worst that I have ever had to deal with, just to cancel service, which I canceled because the service in my area is off and on generally every day of the week. If I could give a Zero star for both the phone customer service and the in person customer service in Terrell, I would. read more

I gave one-star because as terrible as it is, it is better than other providers serving the Wyndemere Subdivision. Cable service is fine but the internet will go out for several minutes at a time throughout the day. Time of day does not seem to matter as it goes out during off-peak hours also. Calls to their out-sourced call centers in India result in long hold times and multiple transfers. When a technician is finally scheduled and confirmed, the technician is able to cancel the appointment with no notification back to you. Then you get to repeat the process over again. Neighbors have all experienced similar results. Obviously, no internet = no streaming service. read more

Never again will I be a customer of your services. Not only where my bills outrageous but after two years of not one late payment I was told no discounts could be applied. The lady when I called to cancel services was extremely rude and said no credit back after I just made a monthly payment.
