I was a loyal customer for over 40 years--but the last three have been a steady collapse in service. Getting a technician is nearly impossible. When you do reach support, you're told everything is "working fine," while every device in your home cannot get connected. Seems like all my devices fail to connect to their equipment at the same exact time. After exhausting every fix on my end, I finally gave up and switched to fiber. I canceled my service on February 20th then returned all equipment on March 9th. The representative in Abilene where I returned the equipment assured me my account was fully settled. Then April rolls around, and suddenly I'm being charged for another month--plus a late fee. To make matters worse, I drove to the Optimum store in Lubbock to resolve it, only to be told they don't even handle cancellations. So customers are left chasing answers between departments that won't take responsibility. After four decades of loyalty, this is how it ends: poor service, billing errors, and zero accountability. I shared my experience locally and found I'm far from alone--many others in my town of 11,000 are dealing with the same issues. There is no way in Hell I would ever recommend Optimum. I don't get why optimum refuses to let me cancel. Like, thats illegal. I spoke with an agent who said they cant transfer me to retenetion before answering her questions about why I want to cancel. I simply told her, i refuse to answer questions. I just want to cancel my service. Had to hang up unfortunately to go back to work. Called again during my break, guys transfers me, on hold for 20 minutes only to get a guy that says he cant access my account and he has to transfer me to another deparmtent. haha, it's crazy how many 1 star reviews this company gets Here's why I give them 1 star... I got scammed. A business that can legally scam you. I get on the phone to try to get cheaper internet, guy upsells me because they have a "promotion". You can pay 35 a month for internet and $1 a month for mobile, oh, buy you have to switch from your current mobile service. Oh, you've already paid in advance for your current mobile service, ok, well I'll credit you with 3 months free then. Oh, but wait, what's that? I paid $110 instead of 0? Wow, I'm surprised! I mean, if you're going to rip me off at least do it right. Charge me 35 for internet and 1 for phone like you said. I don't know about you, but $36 is a little different from $110, that doesn't even take into account the fact that my guy told me I'd be paying $0 for the first few months, $0 is a little different from $110 in my mind. The only things I've ever heard about this company has been bad. Oh, and just by the way, if you ever run into problems, good luck! Highly inconvenient, waited for internet services to start for over a week now currently still do not have service. No service technician has been available to come out to fix this problem. Had to put down 2 separate deposits to just receive equipment (OTP and in store) just for services to still not be available. Have not been able to speak with someone to resolve this issue. read more

BEWARE! I have had an account with Suddenlink\Optimum for about 15 YEARS. When a fiber network company came I was convinced to change, for about half the price I was paying for cable, for faster speed. I was brought online to fiber on a Saturday, I brought my cable equipment into Suddenlink/Optimum the following Tuesday. I was told that they could give me the service I'd had for under half the price of fiber, which told me I'd been cheated all along. I now have faster service for about half the price Suddenlink/Optimum charged me for the last two years when I upped to alleged 1 gig service (which I never saw}. But when I was told that, that's when I knew I'd made the right decision to change. WARNING Do not EVER give this or any other company the right to charge your bank account automatically. I was told by a Suddenlink/Optimum representative that they would cancel my account and charge my final payments at half of what they had charged for years and then cancel the payment. I was LIED to. My monthkly bill, which was for 3 days before I switched cam out to the same monthly amount. If you have an autooatic payment, CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY because an automatic payment permits you to be charged from your account IN PERPETUITY. read more

Horrible experience with an Internet provider I've had it for less than three months and I hate myself every day for going with them the Internet when it's good it's great the problem is it dips out a service about two dozen times a day for about 5 to 15 minutes each time I've called I've wrote emails and I've texted their support and they've hung up on me and they've deleted the text messages they told me they'd have technicians comes out and I've scheduled appointments and nobody ever comes they just keep sending me bills for late payments even though I'm never late. I'm going to ATT where I should've gone to begin with. With them you pay a little more but I guess you get what you pay for read more

My dad is in the hospital after a series of strokes left him blind, unable to swallow or speak or have any use of the left side of his body. (Back story as to why my sister is flustered) We finally got a POA drawn up for my sister and she's in charge of his accounts. She went in this morning (5/3/23 at 9:00) after calling for a week with no response or call back, to find out how to cancel his service and return the equipment. IF he lives, he will be in a skilled nursing home. The woman that was working that morning meet my sister with disdain, judgment, and absolutely no human decency. She actually laughed when Heather couldn't remember dads new address and was extremely condescending about why Heather wasn't already on my 70 year old dads account. (Like anyone can foresee strokes). My sister left in tears. No one in any situation should ever be treated like this, anywhere, let alone in any costumer service. Absolutely worst ISP around. Have had the same problem for the last 6 MONTHS and it still isn't fixed. Been promised a resolution time and time again and never got one. Promised callbacks from countless supervisors who either don't call me back or can't help me either and recommend that I call back and talk to tech support to have a technician come out. Have had 4 technicians come out and they can't figure out the problem or as I keep finding out each time a new one comes that the last technician lied to me about something. I even went out of my way to spend $700 on my own equipment and the problems wasn't fixed. Again, absolutely worst ISP around. Do NOT go with Optimum. read more

I had used Suddenlink and had a good experience. I decided to try optimum and that all changed. After 4 weeks of calls, no one ever even showed up. They tried to lie and say that no one was home, but my camera doesn't lie. They even charged me for a month of service. I went and got my money back, then called AT&T who showed up on time and the internet is working well. read more
