Sent us to an overpriced glasses repair place after telling us that they could fix my broken glasses for $10 over the phone

They set up an appointment for my daughter for training for her contacts. On the day of her appointment they called me 45 minutes before her appointment and said they needed to reschedule so the dr could see her again because her eyes could've changed. I had already left work early and was at my daughter's school picking her up for the appointment. Before they would even schedule the appointment in the first place she had to check with the manager to see if it was within the time limit of 60 days. They said it was within the time and scheduled the appointment. Could they make up their mind or do they just want to charge people more money. This place is the worst. The manager Sandra gave the employee the ok to schedule the appointment. Dr Lao apparently wanted more money so he could re check her eyes. Horrible place!!! read more

Dr. Lao is the best! He gave me my life back. My eyes were unable to focus and I felt chronic motion sickness. He listened to me, asked me lots of questions and provided me with vision therapy sessions personally tailored for my eyes. It took some time, but now I feel great! My eyes are strong and I feel confident to do everything I used to do. Nathaly, my vision therapist, is top notch! She is intelligent, experienced and compassionate. This is my second time at this location and Dr. Lao is very professional and friendly. He gets you in and out of your appointment. The ladies here are always friendly as well and welcoming. It is always clean and make sure that you are taken care of. When I was choosing on what glasses I wanted, they were very patient and even gave me recommendations. I've been trying to find an optometrist office where I Iike both the doctor and their staff and I think I've found it in Optic Gallery. The receptionist was nice, both the tech and doctor were efficient and explained things thoroughly, and I appreciated that the optician didn't push hard on upselling me on my contacts. Dr. Valdez is the absolute best! I have never met an optometrist as thorough as her. I have terrible astigmatism & I always felt that contacts hurt my eyeballs. Daily contacts were unbearable and the monthlies were tolerable, so I have always stuck with those. It's not the most sterile, but I felt like that was all I could do. It's been 2 years since my eyes have been checked & I already knew that my vision worsened. I was just expecting a new prescription & to keep my old lenses, but so much more happened. A thorough examination was done & it turned out I had some corneal injury that steroid drops needed to be prescribed. After a week of these drops, my vision improved & my prescription wasn't as high as we thought. Dr. Valdez contacted the eye glass company and revised my prescription for contacts. & guess what?! - I was converted to daily contacts. She was able to find a brand that worked for my astigmatism. It's not painful, it's more sanitary, & overall I am just a happier patient lol. Still waiting for my new glasses & cannot wait for them to come in. She convinced me to get newer ones that will withstand the strength & agility of my baby that constantly grabs them haha. read more

I was overdue for an annual eye exam and was able to book a next day appointment with Dr. Shimizu. As a new patient, I appreciate that the appointment started right on time and the office staff was organized. During my exam both the eye tech and Dr. Shimizu were very friendly and thorough. Dr. Shimizu took the time to prescribe contact lens that fit my lifestyle needs and I can see much better at night. They are open on Saturdays and the office is next to Habit Burger Grill. First of all for any kind of healthcare facility to get all my 4 kids in at the same time is a miracle! They do this, they are nice and kind from start to finish..they don't try to overcharge you like other local eye doctors..they are helpful..I am scared to write this great review because I don't want people to know about this amazing place seriously and the appointment only 30 minutes total for all 4 kids?! Dr Lao is awesome and the gentleman who started the eye exam was fantastic but the girl who helped us pick our frames was unfriendly and not very helpful. She told my husband and me it would take 5-10 business days for our glasses but usually come before that time frame. Welp two weeks of waiting my husband finally got his two pairs while i continue to wait for mine nearly a MONTH later. I've called the office after my husband came home with his second pair and was told mine still haven't shipped out and called again last week and was told it still hasn't shipped but will be updated when they find out what's going on....a week later still nothing. read more

Dr Lao is the only ophthalmologist I'll visit. He understands the precise nature of the job I do and takes extra time to dial in my prescription perfectly. I never feel like I'm a bother when I ask questions of him or the technicians. Choosing frames, I tend to take a bit of time but as with the exam, I never feel pressured or rushed. I will pay the extra to feel great about the look and function of my glasses. Five stars. read more

Had to have my glasses redone due to an error at Oakley. Thank goodness for Olivia saving the day once again! Noticed the flaw in my frames and sent them off. Upon picking them up Remelyn helped me. She has the patience of a saint. The customer before me she had to help, lacked any self awareness and was loud and obnoxious. Remelyn smiled and got her on her way. This exam/check up was my first here and it was a wonderful experience! I've been overdue for getting a check up and new glasses, but after this experience, I wish I would've gone here sooner! I was even going to go to another location that took my insurance (VSP), but luckily they were too busy and I was able to get an appointment that day (last Saturday) at Optic Gallery! The inside is nice, clean, and has a nice waiting area where my bf and dad waited for me. There's plenty of magazines to read and a little cooler with water bottles. From start to finish, the people working there were very kind and helpful! The guy who helped check my eyes first (a Unlv student) was very nice and friendly. The doctor himself was also kind, friendly but also very helpful and honest! I used to feel bad knowing my eyes were getting worse but this was a nice experience that made me excited to be getting new glasses. The black lady who helped me pick my glasses and get fitted was great! I've never really known how to pick glasses that I liked the style and also would hold up on my slightly flat nose. She showed me glasses that had nose pads to sit higher on my face and helped me pick out a nice pair of Ray Bans! It was nice talking to her and she was very helpful. Told me it would take 7-10 days, starting on Tuesday since Monday was Labor Day and I came on Saturday. Friday comes along and I get a call in the afternoon that my glasses were ready! Even upon arriving, the lady at the front had me check and see if I liked the fitting. I honestly felt weird at first and realized the nose pads were not high enough. I told her that and she went to the back for a while. I went to my car to try it on again, but it still seemed like it wasn't raised. Luckily for me, I saw the nice black lady just now walking in from what seems like a lunch break! I feel bad asking for more help and going back in but I had to do it. I came in and told her what happened and that I wanted it higher because of my nose. She went to the back for a little, came back, and it was much better! They said I could also come back whenever if something needed to be fixed/re-fitted. I'll be back next year! Side note: I saw someone else post that they were charged for fitting but that didn't happen to me. I had a full break down receipt of everything and nothing extra was charged. read more

This business is a model of efficiency! I had a major inflammatory situation going on in my eyes while here on business and I had left my glasses at home. They were able to take me in and fit me for glasses and diagnose the problem with my eyes in less than an hour. Once I could see again I noticed that the business is really nice inside! They could not have been sweeter and I would recommend them even when you don't have inflamed eyes and want to get a great pair of glasses or need to see an ophthalmologist. read more

They ruined my lenses adjusting my glasses and told me they would replace my lenses , which was a lie. I was told they couldn't replace the lenses THEY ruined because my glasses were over 2 years old. I did purchase my glasses there at optic gallery on Stephanie street. Never go there. The team there messed up my order for my frames. I purchase a new frame every year from this place. I have the best insurance everything is covered. I started wearing my new frames after 3 months and notice that I can't read out of them. I can see far, but cannot read. I have a bifocal on every pair of frames I have in the bottom half of my lenses. The person who was working there said that I wanted single vision frames, which I never said. I am not sure where she that from. Anyway, she doesn't work there anymore. They change staff like they change their underwear. I call to see it back to get it corrected, and they told me $185. I was heated, my insurance covers this. She said let me check something, comes back and says it has been pass 3 months, it will be $760. I am appalled, I have to pay this on their f'up. Yeah, I will be finding a different eye doctor. Besides that, they never have any nice frames in there. They always have to be ordered. So you can see how you look in a pair. They would have received a five star except for the fact that I was told I can come pick up some trials until my contacts get in and then turned away because I didn't order my contacts through them. I had an awesome first experience and the doctor was great. Yes he gave me some trials but my contacts are taking a little longer to get here. I called ahead and was told I can come in and get one weeks worth of trials. Once I got there I was told that because I ordered my contacts from a third party I wasn't getting any trials. This is greed at its best. Consider lowering your prices and I would order from you. My fiancé was planning on coming here but I'll make sure to send him somewhere else. Really disappointed in my experience. As a professional I would never conduct business this way. I wasted precious working hours to come here. I got my glasses here a while ago. Since I started using them I've noticed that my eyes are getting worse. When I take them off my vision is blurry. They have made me completely dependant on them. When I called and let them know, they told me that it's normal. I don't believe that this office knows what they're doing. In addition, I went by there to get my frames tightened & they had closed 2 hrs early for a holiday weekend. No consideration for anyone else! read more

Let me start off by saying that I'm glad I didn't go to one of those big optometry chains. Even though Optic Gallery has more than one location, it definitely didn't feel so "corporate". Dr. Lao reminded me of an Asian Doogie Howser. (Haha! Aren't you glad you kept reading?). On a serious note, I genuinely appreciated how humble he was, and how he dumbed everything down and educated me about things that I never knew about the human eye. I felt educated and equipped to take care of my tear ducts better than ever before. My exam was quick, educational, and simple. You can definitely tell he's a good boss to work for cause, the entire staff is awesome. All very friendly. So friendly, it was contagious. Take it from me, cause I can be a Richard sometimes. They took the time to get to know what I wanted in a frame and picked out all the options for me to help make my choice easy. I've found my place to get my eyes checked in Henderson. This is the BEST eye doctor location in the Las Vegas/Henderson area and I have been to several. Dr. Nguyen is very thorough and explains everything and really takes him time. All of the staff are very professional and super nice, especially Olivia. She had handled everything with my insurance and picked out the perfect frames for me before my exam was even finished. Very disappointed in communication and length of time it's taken for glasses to arrive. We were told 2 weeks for our daughters glasses to be in. Today makes it 3 weeks and no one has any answers to where or when we will get her glasses. Our younger daughter had an appointment and glasses ordered a week after our older daughter and we received her glasses in a week. I feel like they dropped the ball and didn't order or something happened with the other glasses and instead of just being honest and telling us what is going on they have left us in the dark with no answers. Would've been nice to have the new glasses for the start of the school year since there was a change to prescription, but that's not happening. Just be honest and communicate with people if/when a problem comes up. read more

We went to the blue diamond location to see Dr. P who's amazing. Since this location is closer to home she told us to come here for any needs. My daughters glasses need adjusted. We walked in, they helped us right away. We were in and out! I saw a prior review that someone came in and wasn't acknowledged for over ten minutes. Whatever they've worked on since then fixed that. This place is awesome! I have been going to this facility for the past 2 years for annual eye exams, glasses, etc. Although I have to drive across town, it is completely worth it. Dr. Lao is my optometrist and he is beyond amazing. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful in every way. During my eye exams, Dr. Lao will give me extra tips to address my dry eye issues. He goes above and beyond every time! Thank you a thousand times Dr. Lao. Also, the staff at this facility is extremely helpful and courteous. From scheduling the appointment to picking up my new glasses and fitting, I received exceptional customer service. The quality of the frames are also on point. I came here on Wednesday to get my eyes checked and get a new lenses. Found out about this place through my insurance! The optics store was very clean and nice ! Before coming they asked me on the phone about covid safety. Once I arrived, they had me wait outside and did a safety check before entering. Once I entered the facility The process of getting my eyes checked and lenses orders was very quick! I will definitely continue to use this facility for my eye exams and ordering glasses and lenses. read more

This place is awesome. I usually have low first impression of a place based on my phone communication like friendly and attentive staff, promptness, etc. As I visited the place, that has changed - nice people, accommodating, the optometrist is knowledgeable, the office is utilizing state of the art equipments. It was my first time to underwent an imagery of the eye comparable to like an echocardiogram of the heart. It is a good tool to monitor problematic eyes and sights. Thumbs up! read more

I went for my exam. I picked out a style of glasses and waited 3 weeks no updates so I called turns out they were delivered to a different office. Waited another week to be notified glasses broke and that style was no longer being manufactured. Request a refund and they had to call their merchant to do the refund twice because it wasn't processed the first time. read more

The doctor explained everything to me and I was very happy. We have been going to the OG for ~15 years. Dr. Joseph Lao and his staff are amazing! Always very informative and they keep up with the latest treatments/research.
