Bondi chai with the harbor view
Priyanka L.

Brunch - bondi chai latte and a colorful bowl of warm asian tofu with lots of veggies. Simple, flavorful dipped with soy sauce and inspiring for the morning. Service is quick and nothing beats having brunch in the company of the Sydney Harbor view! I asked a lot of questions about vegan and vegetarian and they did have avocado open toast and a lot of cold salads. Their desserts look deliciously stunning. Cant wait to try the chia pudding and pistachios and rose cake. Enjoying their music on a lazy afternoon and the sound of birds swooping right over me ...it's interesting to see them spraying something around the birds to shoo them away. Wonder what it is?

opera cake!

I was attending a matinee at the Opera House and was looking for a quick lunch before the performance. This was the perfect place to get a bite and is the more affordable option of the new Opera eating establishments. I ordered the quiche of the day and it was tasty and quick. I also ordered an opera cake square. I mean how could I resist?! The outdoor seating was a bit untidy because out doors and of course the seagulls are basically trying to dive bomb your food, especially closer to the water and if you have fries. Plan your seating accordingly

This is a place where you definitely pay for the location! We had some open faced sandwiches for around $20 each. Mine was good; I had a shrimp sandwich, and the shrimp were large and tasty. The iceberg wedge on the side was good as well. Service is a bit confusing and chaotic since food is coming out of multiple kitchens. Also....the seagulls truly are a problem! They are extremely bold and will land on your table while you are eating. If you are in the in the middle of activities right near or at the opera house and want a quick bite, this is not a bad option, but if you are heading out elsewhere in the city or can eat somewhere before coming, it's probably a good idea. Otherwise...bring something to fend off the seagulls (umbrellas work!) and try to all order from the same part of the menu.

Steak dinner.

We went on a paid tour of the Sydney House and we were all starving. We were happy to find the Opera Kitchen. They had a varied menu so we all got different entrees. If you want to try Kangaroo they have it most everywhere. The Steak dinner was good . The service was very good and the employees were friendly. The prices are a bit high for what you get. We liked it enough to eat here twice in one day.

Slow service here and so busy all the time! Went inside to order and luckily found a table by the water. I ordered a beer and some fish and chips. I waited probably 20 minutes for my food and my 1 beer to come out. I couldn't believe it took so long. I did really enjoy that once I had my food brought out they had a cage to go over the food to protect it from the seagulls. The fish and chips were so good. The best I've had I think. very crispy and flavorful all around. Definitely can't recommend it enough!

Delicious burgers and fries and off marvelous view of Opera house in background and Sydney skyline :)

Perfect Ambiance, Beautiful Sydney Skyline View and Tasty food. Right after watching the opera, at 11pm in the night, we thought of garbing dinner and this place was still open. It was adjacent to the opera house and right by the water. personal fire pillars were great to keep us warm and cozy. The view of Harbor, city skyline and bridge was serene. You order at the counter and they deliver the food on the table. There were quiet a few options even for VEGETARIAN which was a bliss. The options for drinks were limited but still you will have known beers to choose from. The menu is little on expensive side but then again you are getting the amazing view. I ordered veggie burger and it came with basket of fries. The burger was fresh and full of flavors which made my overall experience there "a happy memory". I suggest trying this place especially because its offers perfect combination of location, food and serenity! P.S. You can buy groupon for flights for this place to make your meal affordable.

One of their hot drinks with a chocolate croissant DELICIOUS!

The view is outstanding but the menu is brilliant. Absolutely worth coming out and trying their drinks and food. One of my favorite spots in Sydney!

Overall a good experience minus the seagulls. I expected higher prices due to the location but was quite surprised. Definitely recommend. Food: Had some pretty good oysters here (finally Australia!). The Sydney rock oysters were meaty/plump and slightly briney. Mmm. Chips/fries were amazing (explains why the seagulls will legit dive bomb your table to steal some) and the fish was pretty good too. Drinks: Reasonably priced beer. Didn't try much else. Service: Nothing to write home about when comparing to US establishment service. My beer came out really 5 seconds after my order despite being seated at a table. Aside from that the staff mostly ignores you, which is fine with me. Ambience: Amazing views of the harbor. Looks like a tourist trap and it might be but food and prices aren't bad. Beware of the seagulls. They are aggressive and will try to steal your food. You've been warned.

Good place to rest and have a cup of coffee while taking in the view of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Iconic landmarks not to be missed. Great coffee and I must say the sticky date pudding was Awesome!

Located beneath the gigantic seashell this slice of Sydney gives you an uninterrupted view of the meccano coathanger. At $9.50 for a beer, and $22 for a burger this is about as expensive as it gets in this city, but proximity is everything and so the price fits. The food looks good and tastes good and theres a buzzy vibe about the place. Table service is provided for both food and drinks, and it is relatively speedy and friendly. NB: This is a weekday lunchtime review. Service may vary on weekends and different times!

I started to have the tasting plate about 18 months ago. I loved it. You get a bit of everything it looks good, everybody is happy. But!!! The dreaded but, last two times I had it the food was bland the chips stale and the asian food was less and tasteless. I can put up with staff that are on a working holiday and can't be bothered to serve you and I can put up with the birds that want to grab your food. But once you set the standards I expect the same every time I order something. I'm not happy, but I'll be back. The view is great and I'll try my luck with their burgers this time.

Seafood tasting platter

Came here as it is right beneath the opera house. I ordered the seafood tasting plate and it was about $30 AUD. My friend and I sat outside as it was a beautiful day. The seafood tasting plate came out pretty quickly. It had a large salad in the middle with smoked salmon, shrimp salad, mixed seafood salad, and like a tuna salad with bread. Everything was quite fresh and tasty. My friend got the fish n' chips and as soon as she went to the bathroom sea gulls started ravenously eating her and my food. Luckily the waitress saw the whole escapade and was nice enough to have both our food made again. We then went and sat inside under the covered umbrellas. So basically beware of the sea gulls. It was nice though eating with the opera house in the back!

$25 Poke Bowl. Pretty pretty good

Dropped by here after a long ass flight from Detroit - 30 hrs total. The location (being right next to the Oprah House) and views (bridge and OH) are really nice and was the only reason we decided to eat here. The food was a little pricey, $25 for a poke bowl, but it tasted pretty good. The seating area caters to all customers - indoor tables, and outdoor benches and high tables. All employees we encountered were nice.

We did not have a reservation, but they fit us in as a walk-in at a small coffee table with 2 ottoman seats. Not the most comfortable set up, but I appreciate the cozy atmosphere, almost like you are sitting in someone's very posh and dimly lit den. All the NOLA classics were featured, like Vieux Carre (no likey), old fashioned (likey), and hurricane. There were some twists on the classics as well. I liked the newer house specialties, and ended up having 3 drinks, more than I intended. We snacked on some popcorn chicken, which was nothing special, but very satisfying when hungry. We were also lucky enough to be there when the live jazz band played a brief set, which really set the mood. I took off a star because not every drink was a homerun, and the service was a bit too impersonal for a speakeasy. We had a different server each time. One of my favorite parts of going to a speakeasy is to watch the bartenders work their magic and ask them for recommendations, and if I'm lucky, maybe get an off menu drink. Not quite set up that way here.

One of the absolutely coolest spots that I visited in Sydney…read more I honestly hope it's still here. We came during a business conference and ended up here 4 nights in a row.

The photos in the entry way were super cool. As we descended down the stairs, it felt like we were going back in time to the Roaring 20s. It was a Wednesday night, so the bar wasn't terribly crowded, though it was still busy. We grabbed a seat and browsed the menu. After a few minutes, no one came by so I eventually got up and ordered at the bar. I had to wait nearly 10 minutes before I was even able to order a drink. I don't know what the hold up was, but the service was extremely slow. While I was waiting, there were some drunk guys who were pushing the hanging light fixtures. This went on for a few minutes and the staff never said anything to them. It was annoying and extremely off putting. Once I was finally able to order a drink, I asked for a Martinez. The bartender could not understand me. I think I repeated myself at least three times. I guess the way I pronounced "Martinez" sounded like "martinis" lol. I ended up pointing to the drink in the menu before he finally understood what I was trying to order. I know I have an accent, but I didn't think it was that heavy lol. I will say that my Martinez was well made and tasted so good! My friend had planned to order a drink, but changed her mind after she saw how long it took for me to get my drink. Luckily she's a local, so she can go back whenever she wants. If it weren't for the long wait and the annoying drunk guys, this would have been a 5-star experience. If you enjoy craft cocktails and have patience, go check it out.
