We decided to have dinner at Opera Bar because they're open late. Given that it is located in a tourist area, it wasn't surprising that it was busy on a Monday night. They don't take reservations, however they have plenty of seating so we didn't have to wait. Seating is all outdoors and most of the tables are covered. We visited back in the fall so the weather was very pleasant. They typically have live music daily. I don't know the name of the band that was playing, but they were good. All tables have a QR code that you scan to order food. We had difficulty scanning the code so we moved to a nearby table. It didn't take long for our food to come once we ordered. I had a Rosé Spritz which was good and refreshing. My friend and I shared an order of Chicken Salt Chips. We could not taste any seasoning on the chips and wondered if they gave us regular chips by mistake. I also ordered the Beef Burger which was tasty. The views of the Harbour and Harbour Bridge were stunning, especially at night! The views alone were worth the visit!

Nice open air cafe with lovely views. Located on the water between the harbor bridge and opera house, it's a perfect location to soak in the sites and enjoy the people watching. We ordered at the bar and brought our drinks to the edge of the water. The seating area is huge with lots of tables and bench-like seating along the water. I loved the puppy dog whose job was to chase the seagulls away. It was a border collie and he took his work very seriously. Loved this place as somewhere to rest our feet and get a refreshing drink.

I'm sure for the locals this location is a bit touristy, but having dinner outside at sunset was really a magical experience for our group. We ate here because it was included in our Opera House Tour ticket, and honestly it was worth it, 100%. The ticket came out to $32 (US) per person (which was probably a little steep for the kids but they did enjoy the tour a great deal) for the tour and meal. The adult entrees were generous portions and came with a choice of one of three beers or a wine selection. We went with the Opera House Lager because when in Rome, ‍. We also paid for two additional drinks, another beer and an apple old fashioned. Both were good ways to end our meal. I don't think this would be an every day or even a multiple night stop for us, but paired with the tour it was a really lovely way to end our holiday.

This place is known for its location and the view, maybe not the food. We arrived on a busy Sunday night. We had to show our ID to get in, but once in, you can find any open table and use the table QR code to order food and drinks. We tried the baba ghanoush and the cheese platter. The vegetable crisps for the baba ghanoush seemed a bit stale. Cheeses weren't very special. Food took awhile to be served. It's a big place, with lots of people, so the kitchen was probably quie overloaded. But people are here for the vibe and the views, which is great

The Opera Bar offers a phenomenal location and amazing views of the Sydney harbor, paired with below average and lackluster food. So I'll give them 5-stars for the location, yet 2-stars at best for the food, averaging out to 3-stars overall. The location is truly amazing, right below the iconic opera house and offering stunning views of the harbor. And for dinner, the ambiance is highly enjoyable, considering the live music and vibey atmosphere. Yet the food misses the mark entirely. Their fish and chips looks great but was a bit soggy and lacked flavor. The grilled swordfish also lacked flavor and came in a miniscule portion. The service is perfunctory and unenthusiastic.

Such a beautiful view of the opera house and harbor bridge. The cocktail menu, unbeatable for the area. Absolutely love

Can't find a better spot for a bite and a view! You can go up to the bar and place your order. Then pick one of the amazing seats outside to enjoy your food and a gorgeous view on the Opera House. The friendly staff brought out my fish and chips. Loved the tartar sauce-- so much flavor and not a prepackaged option. The chips were cooked perfectly and fish was fresh. I'll be back!

Great place for indoor or outdoor seating near the opera house, by quay and for the view of the bridge for people watching. I appreciated the convenience of the QR scanner to order strait to your table. It made dinner experience really efficient to order and check out. Food came out quick and so did drinks. I would recommend the tostada. They were such a nice treat being by the water. I liked how the crab and avocado dip was served inside a actual crab, nice touch towards freshness!

Located right next to the famous Sydney opera house and right along the harbor. This little spot offers a tremendous view, but at the price of a chaotic scene This place does not accept reservations and does not assign seating so it is a complete free for all when it comes to finding a table. I went on a Wednesday in the summer and it was absolutely packed. Each table was completely filled and each aisle way was filled with people trying to find a seat. It is a very loud setting so definitely don't expect a quiet dinner. You order food at the bar and it gets delivered to you. The food and drinks are just okay. I went with a tropical cocktail which was not too sweet and hit the spot. For food, we went with the yellow fin, sashimi, and the peach and tomato salad. The fish were both tasty and the sashimi was fresh. I would pass on the tomato and peach salad. It was too bland for my tastes. If you can get past the difficulty of finding a table, opera bar is a great, jovial place to spend time with a group.

If you're going to eat here, you're really here because of the location, the view, and the convenience. The food wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out either... Except for the sweet potato fries. They are so so good! Sweet, thick, crispy, and smokey, and a huge portion, too! If I lived in Sydney I would come back often just to get these. Ordering is easy through a QR code and there were plenty of seats and tables to enjoy the views.

Let's start with the view. I mean, you are at the Sydney opera house, looking at the Harbour Bridge. Plenty of (outside) seating. The service is friendly and quick. We took a walk around the Opera House then stopped for a drink and a bite to eat. I had a glass of rosé, hubby had a beer and we shared the cold seafood platter. Sydney has THE BEST prawns! Annd no prawn is complete without seafood sauce. Also on the platter was some delicious, salmon sashimi. I love oysters and Sydney rock oysters are my favorite in the world, they were also on this platter. Another variety of sashimi (I forgot which type) and some crab legs. The crabs were a lot of work but worth it. This was the perfect place for an afternoon drink and scenic snack.

Ambience cannot be topped when the weather is great. Clean modern with good food. Not a great value for money to be honest, but a must see for any tourist. They are also pretty quick considering how many people they are serving.

Sit on your own. Scan the QR code to order. Tip will be added based on your choice of percentage. Located at the bottom of the Opera House. At night, there's music and heater used. Food is fantastic. Service is great! Beautiful view! 7-25-2023

Go for the iconic view! It's in the harbour obviously so beware the seagulls. Great pizza and drinks with easy self serve and checkout.

This place has a very definitive after work atmosphere. You come here for a few, get your night kickstarted then move somewhere else. They do have a great selection of beers; cluey + friendly staff; great vibe because everyones just knocked off for the week; Also the infamous Kraken rum resides here! Downsides? No three sheets pale ale even though it's on the menu. The Q tends to be a bit on the pricey side. It's one of those not enough staff too many patrons places so lines are lengthy and spills tend to linger... longer... I've done the upstairs gig a couple of times. Rooftoppy, nice view, and good amount of intimacy. Downsides there is very limited bar (unless you want to haul yo fat ass up and down the stairs all night) and it's even pricier (ultra kick in the guts when that work tab runs out!) Never done the food here, wouldn't know where to get it, or whether it's worth getting.

The Welcome's wedges, rather than being coated, are just straight-up potato, as a perfect wedge should be. I'm assuming they are twice-fried to achieve the crispitty, crunchitty, golden brown outside and the soft, creamy, volcanically-hot inside. Why 4 stars, you might say? They give you rather small dishes of sweet chilli and sour cream for your dipping pleasure. I always run out of sweet chilli about halfway through my mountain of crispy, potatoe-y goodness. I then have to embarrass myself by waiting patiently in the food-buying queue before sweetly holding out the empty dish and asking rather sheepishly for more sweet chilli from the always friendly and accommodating staff. And no, it's never crossed my mind to just eat the wedges sans sauce. Condiments on wedges like this are worth more than your self esteem. Oh yea, and the bar's pretty nice too :) Very pub-like without being too old-mannish, with a nice garden. BF says they have some of the best Guinness in Sydney. Wedges and Guinness- what more could a Irish-pub-loving Yelper want?
