We use to be regulars here. It is always very clean here and wait staff is always smiling and very friendly and good at recognizing return customers. This restaurant was very disappointing. They put our order in last, so people who sat down after us got their food before us, and the wait after we ordered was around an hour. Now, I'm understand accidents happen, however the waitress was not apologetic or anything. Our steak was overcooked and most of our food was cold. We came here on a recommendation from another business that we visited. We waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Friday night, not terrible. They have a full bar, which was nice. We had an app, a half order of onion rings, they were good, they came out in a vertical presentation on a stick, each was about an inch tall!! 3 stars is because our server must have put the onion ring appetizer order in and forgot to put the dinner order in, because the onions were quick and dinner took at least 45 minutes. No apology, (no well done steaks ordered) There was no "here's a drink on the house" in fact we were pretty much ignored most of the time we waited for food and got some curt responses (which I would never hold against a busy waitress but for the other lacks in service). My kids enjoyed their fried shrimp and grilled cheese kids meals, my pulled pork had good flavor (apparently this is what they are known for) but it was so "pulled" that it had a mashed potato texture, which I don't prefer; it was almost like they put the meat in a food processor. The wet burrito was really big, but it is no comparison to a legit Mexican burrito, the server gave no info on the sauce at all, (I'm guessing a basic enchilada sauce plus melted cheese) I would give it a 5/10. read more

Our party of 10 walked right in for a late afternoon lunch on a Saturday. Food here is average. Decent quality and price for burgers and sandwiches, but the entrees are overpriced for the quality and amount of food. For all of the people that mentioned large portions, they must have small appetites. I ordered the chicken sandwich with mushrooms and it was good. I finished every bite and was thinking about more food when I left. I thought they were a little chincy on the fries. I would bet that nothing here is made from scratch. A friend ordered the vegetarian alfredo and basically it looked like sauce poured out of a jar on top of some noodles with mushy baby carrots mixed in. Another friend ordered the veggie instead of fries as a side and it was a handful of baby carrots which looked plain and mushy. I will give an A+ for service though. The food was great and large portions. Mozzarella Sticks were a huge hit with my picky child, burgers were large, bacon mac and cheese was delicious and fried fish was excellent. Only decent place in the area to eat. We've been here before and the food was pretty good. A little pricey especially the appetizers. When we arrived, they said it would be a 15 min wait. We were in a hurry and asked if we could order to go. They weren't taking orders to go. So then we asked if we could order so that our food will be ready by the time we sat. And they said they couldn't. They finally sat us. Service is very slow. We noticed that the table next to us ordered their food at the same time, got it and finished it before we even got ours. We then asked another waitress to check on our food. They finally brought it out and it didn't seem fresh. Almost like it sat there for 10-15 minutes after it was done. All in all, dinner took us over 2 hrs which placed us over two hour behind in our travel schedules. So if you're not in a hurry, this is a good place to eat. Otherwise, keep on driving. read more

This is not a choice of mine AT all... I find their menu "empty". Not many options. The food don't have much flavor, I mean a burger will taste like a typical burger and a steak like a typical steak. I don't find their food, tasty per say. Prices are quite high for the taste of their food. It gets busy in the summer, but then again, where else do you go in Hart. We ordered the House onion rings and breaded cauliflower both to die for. The lake perch is the best we've ever had. Gourmet mac & cheese was awesome and had real bacon in it. This is easy acess on and off the expressway. It is casual dress, excellant service, welcoming atmosphere and good food. We have dined here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The shrimp are in the lightest batter and steaks are medium rare just as asked for. There is seating in the bar and in the main room for dining. If you need a bite around these parts, this isn't a terrible choice. As a vegetarian there isn't much on the menu but that is the trend in rural MI. The fried pickles were salty but good. We had been looking forward to trying this place for a while and finally got around to bringing our family over to try it. However, the manager was incredibly rude to us upon our arrival and we didn't stay long enough to order, let alone eat. We requested a 6-top for our family of four as we have a toddler who needs a high chair & we also have a wheelchair. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, when we asked the manager for a 6-top, she scoffed at us and said, "Oh no, we can't do that!!" She promptly directed us to a cramped 4-top which was incredibly tight and was absolutely not going to work. Even though we asked again and requested some special consideration since the place was nearly empty and we had a toddler and family member with a physical disability, she made it clear that we were getting no consideration whatsoever. After trying to accept our lot and sitting uncomfortably for a few minutes, we decided that eating at this restaurant was a choice that we were not going to make after being treated so rudely.
